Try using the jello mix when you adding the dry ingredients. When you continue to heat and mix up jello that's when it gets thicker so the less mixing the jello in your cake the better... Your cake will be just that much moister... I'm not a troll tryna ack better than you, I'm a fan with another trick I learned with my pound cakes!! You are amazing... Greetings Camirra! I made this cake and it was FANTASTIC, you are the truth! I wanted to know how sugar free jello would affect this recipe. There’s a minuscule amount of aspartame. Or, if you use 2.5 cups of sugar with the regular jello?
never used sugar free with this recipe so im not sure. i have never tried this, but if you want to reduce the sugar a bit i think using trivia for part of the sugar could work well.

Like most pound cakes, you'd probably bake it at 3 350 degrees for 1 hour and 10-20 minutes (or longer if needed). As with most baked cakes, the SMELL REALLY INTENSIFIES as it's nearing the finished line. In addition to TIMING, that's one sure way to know that it's just about finished OR finished. Plus, baked goods usually pull away from the sides of the pan when done. Lastly, do the toothpick test in the center/tallest part of the cake for doneness. If the cake is done, the toothpick will NOT be wet. Remove the cake and let it rest in the pan for 10 minutes (on a cooling rack). Remove cake from the pan and let it cool before glazing. Enjoy. Yum!! 😋
You can make pound cakes in a tube pan or a bundt pan. Good in either pan. Be aware that DARK PANS tend to BAKE items FASTER, so that's something to remember as it will probably shorten your cook time.
This looks sooooooo good. When u made the icing, I said "did she say she added flour?" U did but later said it was the powdered sugar. Girl wheeewwww!! Lol. Imma try making it from scratch bc I usually use a box then doctor it up to be key lime.

I know I’m about a year late lol but I attempted this recipe about a month or so ago and it didn’t go so well. The inside of the cake wasn’t done and I remember leaving it in for quite a few minutes over the suggested baking time. I think I may have used too much lime juice and I was wondering about how much time juice did you use in the recipe?
how much lime juice did you use?one thing you dont want to over do it with is wet ingredients in baking. i think i said like 80 min. this reacip a bit old lol. but when it comes to pound cakes you must bake until that toothpick comes out clean. ovens can be slightly calibrated differently. so if you oven runs "colder" than mine you might need the extra time. just cover with foil if too brown and continue baking until the toothpick comes out clean. a few crumbs on it is okay

I tried this recipe today but my cake didn’t come out right 🙁. I’m not a baker so please bare with me… I wasn’t sure how much lime gelatin was needed (I didn’t see an amount listed) I used 6oz that was listed on the box. My cake overflowed burned the bottom of my oven, from too much batter. I wasn’t sure how this could happen when I used the exact measurements?? I cooked it on 325 degrees but after 80 minutes it still was not cooked all the way and fell when I went to check it after 1 hr. The flavor was great going into the oven, but I have to make another cake. I didn’t get to the glaze, I started watching the video to cover it but I heard you say 1 cup of flour, which threw me off because I thought it was 1 cup of confectioners sugar, so I wasn’t sure if I was to add flour and sugar for the glaze? Or maybe it was a freudian slip? But on the recipe text it only shows confectioners sugar. Anyway the flavor was great, it’s worth me trying again. Maybe in a few weeks because I’m tired!

@@CamirrasKitchen I live in Florida and born near the Keys and have eaten my share! Key limes are much smaller than Persian limes and they look yellow. You have to squeeze alot of them to get the juice. My grandmother use to grow them. But that cake looked really good! 🥰

when it come to flour i use a food scale to measure the weight. 3 cups all purpose flour is 360 gms. but you can also sift the flour then scope a measuring cup then level. i think a scale is way faster and more accurate though

Limes or real key limes? If limes it's lime cake. Key limes are completely different. They're a lot tarter. They have a flavor all their own.
