Newport v Merthyr final was 86/87 absolute chaos, after that we went out of the league in 1988 but Hartridge rugby club played in the Cup final at the Arms Park on 4 occasions, all the Newport lads went to those finals and Cardiff turned up for the dance. Crazy days but thank God they're behind us now. UTC
As a Millwall fan it’s nice to hear the stories from both sides…. Crazy times back then 😮💨 I seen annis when I was on my holidays in Santa ponsa he was in a restaurant with his family…. Shame I would have loved to have a chat with him about them battles of 20 odd years ago 🏴 🏴 But it was not the right time to start talking about football aggro!! 🤣 You had some mob back then respect, 👊🏻
As a Cardiff fan, Millwall are the best firm I’ve come up against, first went to the Den in 1986, last time in 2011 and plenty of times in between, they never disappoint. Deep down one of my favourite clubs.
I got great memories of Cardiff during the 80's when both our clubs were sliding through the league to division 4. Had a knife pulled on me at Ninian Park as we came out the ground around 1987. Cardiff didn't have huge numbers back then but were always very game. Brought an impressive mob of around 400 to Wolves around 2003. Those days are long gone but Soul Crew were always rated very highly by us. Very enjoyable Central Club, thank you - Wolves
Wolves here , was at Ninian pk in 87 when train got stopped on way back just outside Cardiff Central .carriages got blasted by half enders never forget the sound , most old bill I've ever seen for a div 4 game that day . In 2003 true CCFC brought numbers to wolves , but that was the biggest turn out by wolves at molineux I would say ever at least 500 /750 . As we know lads it was in its dying days by then " the scene".

Currently watching and really enjoying. Would love to see a round table with fans from different clubs. So Cardiff Newport Swansea millwall Chelsea etc. All at a roundtable would be incredible
The book Simon was talking about was called Hooligans abroad. It was a sociology case study which wrote a piece on Frankie Humprhies and the 74 game v United. I read it in the library mid to late eighties
Rewatching this rovers as fan want cardiff when i was 19 in 1996 massive firm we took last game of the season 2k cardiff waiting for us after the game glad to get back over the bridge always been a top firm massive respected from the gas
I remember being on a mods outing, from the valleys to Barry in 1983. Quite a few known faces from Cardiff on our train. A bunch of guys got on in Dinas Powys I think, all casual dressers, I'd never seen it before. It was carnage within five minutes... over a Fila baseball hat one of our lot had on. The Newport Trendys they were calling themselves. I was 13.
My dad took my to ninian park in 89 when bristol city won 3 0, we took close to two thousand i reckon, and cardiff werent even getting 4000 at home, any pictures of the ground that day would prove this, good chat though i enjoyed.
Quality pod again, true tales of genuine guys. Right about people quick to get on there phones which doesn’t help by putting on so called firm platforms.
Spent 4 years at RAF St Athan. Was a small squad of us from St Athan followed Newcastle everywere. As Newcastle fans living in South Wales we had a few run in with Cardiff especially the Barry lads. Had a proper battle in Caroline Street after a Wales v Scotland game at Ninian Park. Didnt matter how many times we went down to Barry there squad who followed Cardiff found us and it went off. Winston Allen the British Heavyweight boxer earned his money keeping the peace as a bouncer on the Island loads of weekends.
Speaking as a Swansea supporter (not hooligan) who used to go away during the First Division days under Toshack….. I can honestly say that Swansea did not seem to have a regular/organised 'Inter-City' hooligan following like for example Leeds, West Ham or Chelsea etc where hundreds would hop onto a early arrival 'private- travel’ train(s) as opposed to a club arranged and escorted 'football special' to cause repeated chaos in other cities. But the Swans did indeed have many hundreds of hooligans who would turn up in large number(s) for cherry picked games like Cardiff. Only to then mysteriously disappear into thin air. What used to bug me was their lack of loyalty, because many were indeed casual not just in dress, but in support, to the extent where they would disappear for many months on end, only to reappear when a notorious team was playing. I used to see them on the Grange Town End and think "one or two game a season wonders". I never classed many of them as serious supporters outside of hooligan persona. If only they had turned up (not just to cause trouble) to support the club when other less notorious clubs were playing. Pop and crisps supporters rule btw.
I know it’s a local Derby Swansea and Cardiff but personally i hate the West Country more than Cardiff. Horrible fuckers Plymouth Bristol City Bristol Rovers and anyone on the edge of Wales like West brom Wolves Aston Villa Birmingham Shrewsbury Hereford Chester. All horrible fuckers.
Turned up against Cardiff, when? In the 80s and 90s before bubble trips Swansea never showed up. There’s no stories where Swansea have done Cardiff, either in Swansea or Cardiff.

Remember around 50 Cardiff skinheads being escorted from the cowshed to the open end at Huddersfield 72/3. Had a bit of a altercation in the same end 82/3 with a few Cardiff.
You had to walk behind the away team stand to leave Nin park, and I was no soul crew, just always joined in if the fighting started. While Millwall were throwing bricks or whatever I assume they were ripping off their stand, I was stupidly stood against the corrugated iron wall at the bottom between Millwall above at the top of their stand and the exit gully down below millwall as Cardiff were throwing things up to Millwall, and Millwall were throwing things down. Some brave cardiff hooligans climbed up and dove into the millwall stand, and likely left on a stretcher since there were some big Millwall hooligans who likely trained for such moments. So, me stood against the corrugated iron watching the millwall madness above, a full sized brick slammed into the corrugated iron skimming my ear, so someone from above threw a brick full force from an elevated position at my head, and if they were a better shot I would not be alive to be writing this now, or would had had major reconstructive surgery and/or brain damage. We go though life dwelling on the bad luck we suffered, but don't bless the good luck because we lost nothing from it. Spot on about Bristol. As a city lad (no more) we always had the numbers but Rovers have a very decent and widely respectable mob. Although since the early 80s the casual thing in the city is a bit like the Cardiff Swans thing - we always travelled up theirs whereas they’ve been to our just once for a game, the exception being when 100 odd came to Bedminster after an away game and had a pop at out main boozer (3 lions), with little to report. Now living in Hereford and got talking to Rawlings on the train on the way to Shrewsbury he was off to North Wales. Train was delayed and he had a chat with train driver top man and a gent. Had a chat about the good old days. Respect to Pompey and Millwall
Annis and Alan are good speakers easy to understand and sound lads. The lad in the middle mumbles a lot and is hard to understand. Nothing to do with the Welsh accent. I can see how he could get under your skin a bit as Annis said. Good talk all the same. A nice trip down memory lane.
@@samuellewis9617 It's not his strong accent he just doesn't speak clearly as he mumbles a lot. I never have any problem listening to anybody who speaks english no matter what country they're from.

I noticed that Boro are in all three's top five firms..nice one..Al says nobody took Cardiff in Cardiff but on previous pods it's mentioned that Boro took their pub and got the best outside..the only firm to do it apparently
Yes boro did turn us over outside the Albert pub in the city centre we had a go but got done simple, still good pals with a few boro to this day top lads top class mob
That eating shit story 😂😂😂😂😂 had me in tears turd and curry 😂wtf get these lads on again makes sense a valley boy blackwood we have never been well up here
I was in that pub that day. However, I can never remember if it was at Oxford or Cambridge, I know it was one of the university cities. Nick Parsons brought the turd from the toilet (you'd assume it was his! 🤭), he had taken a paper plate and silver serving tongs from the food display area. They had a collection in a beer jug and Billy ate it! It cleared the pub of City fans, the locals and students stayed inside because they had no idea what had happened. I found myself dry-retching outside. The thing was, they knew he'd probably do it as he'd been drinking his own piss from a beer can on the coach going to the game (again for a whip-around). 😲
Great lad Annis known him over 20 years says it as it is no bullshit, no lies just honest and genuine as it was stories whether getting run or doing the running.Had the pleasure of standing side by side with him during the Brussels riots at Euro 2000 and would be one of the first people I’d pick to be by my side again, tough as nails and great lad !
Love hearing these old guys talking about how it was without trying to big themselves ip as top boys they were just young guys caught up in the whole thing unlike Ginger Bob Mariner etc who just go on about the Time they single handedly took on hundreds and run them 😂
15000 sland went to cardiff 70s 1 1 draw What a day as an 18 year old by train . Climbing walls to get in lots bother back to station if i remember but anis plus few more and sum of our lads good mates since 80s to this day . Always had a soft spot for ccfc sum good kids ive met over the years .
Great watch and honest always good to hear about the good old days chelsea we always had massive numbers lads now wouldn't believe the numbers we took away everywhere !% happy days 😇
It's been explained too many times to the point where Cardiff add a little bit more credibility on their side to the story that now its been blown out of proportion! It was the youth from both clubs that were involved, and even alot of Swansea fans who haven't a clue what happened that night have added to it and made it look like a fairy tale! It's no big deal really,it's an excuse for the new generation of Jack's to wind the Cardiff up!
That's it us Jack's just get on with it U allways see new blogs with cardiff Fuck me every time I turn RUclips on there another cardiff blog Swim away was 30 or so swansea 20 cardiff All from port Talbot Pvm They came back down in cars after the game 2 hour later to pick of stragglers Parked near beach and got found out by slightly more number Was rather a tear up or only way out was into swansea Bay They choosed the bay They were early to mid 20s as same age as me at the time Know most them as they often come down in cars driving around to pick us of alone Had me twice, once with my missis and once with my younger brother and 2 mates 2 car loads Belive what u will as its boring now They were not kids and not just 5 or 6 They shit out
This is great. Id love to see 80s 90s 00s and Youth of today on the round table talking about the different eras and whos the best. Also, you need to get the Jacks on the round table with the Soul Crew lads and let them go head to head
Always mixed emotions as I was a kid in 80s and 90s and believe me it was scary at times. Swansea 93 and Millwall 99 were tense to say least! Not sure about that night Celtic played Inter..I remember being out that night and was no trouble at all and was drinking down Westgate Street and clubbing...I remember it as celtic fans were everywhere. I guess if u go looking for trouble u will find it. Whether I agree with this or not doesn't matter.. always interesting listen.
All keyboard warriors saying anythung negative about the Soul Crew, were not there, fact. Also, Annis is right... its madness getting involved these days
I've heard that Cardiff have never been turned over on numerous times during this interview, but isn't it well documented that my beloved Boro turned you and your pub the Albert over back in 94, interested to hear your take on that infamous encounter UTB

Well two friends of mine went to a welsh cup game in the seventies between Cardiff and Swansea at ninin Park they were both cardiff fans they said Swansea turned up in their thousands on a Tuesday night game and after the game Swansea chased cardiff all over the place all this thing about the eighties and nineties you could swear there was no fighting before then
You have done so well getting Rawlins and Simon in. I enjoyed it and they were naughty back in the day. Have to respect them. Be nice to see a few of the dirty 30 round the table if you could pull that off. Evo and 2 or 3 others. Interesting that these three admitted being done over the years but Evo wouldn't have that with his lot. Said they'd never been done.
No no fella what actually happened was villa waited and waited until the boozer (the Cornwall, which has never been our main boozer ever by the way)villas lads hung on until there was only a handful of cardiff left in the pub an outside then had a go at the pub and hardly any of them got inside mind 😳lads from both sides got bird for it……funny though as we’d been in contact with them all day an they knew where to go and the same boozer had 200 lads there an hour before they decided to have a pop at it convenient timing 🤣

Ha ha tick tock say no more!
I loved it in 2003 Soul Crew brought a top firm to us.... Went off on St Mary's Church Bramall Lane.... Good Firm I Think ⚔️
A lot of respect for Annis, Cardiff Soul Crew, was a top top firm and one of the best I have ever seen. Respect Bwfc .
I thought I tuned into last of the summer wine for a minute. Go compo,
Respect from Exeter
Should have been called the cardiff fans talking about Swansea fans podcast, good to see we always live in their heads
And we always love in your heads
Swansea haven’t got any main lads that’s why they want come on, bluebirds
@MarkPurbrick-i1q main lads? this is 3 old washed up p1ss heads rambling 😂
Now living in Hereford and got talking to Rawlings on the train on the way to Shrewsbury he was off to North Wales. Train was delayed and he had a chat with train driver top man and a gent. Had a chat about the good old days. Respect to Pompey and Millwall
Why Middlesbrough all the other teams we’re big city clubs
Annis and Alan are good speakers easy to understand and sound lads. The lad in the middle mumbles a lot and is hard to understand. Nothing to do with the Welsh accent. I can see how he could get under your skin a bit as Annis said. Good talk all the same. A nice trip down memory lane.
Nope he just has a thick accent
He is actually from the valleys that's why he got a strong accent
@@samuellewis9617 It's not his strong accent he just doesn't speak clearly as he mumbles a lot. I never have any problem listening to anybody who speaks english no matter what country they're from.
I remember in the seventees swansea played cardiff in the welsh cup they brought fucking thousands up to cardiff they nearly took the grange end
As a Swansea fan i’m not just saying this but i can’t stand Bristol City Bristol Rovers Plymouth Birmingham West Brom Wolves Stoke Chester Shrewsbury Hereford and all them along the Boarder of Wales more than Cardiff extremely Anti welsh it’s unbelievable.
something we can agree on... westmidlands police hate the welsh and make it known
Hereford have a few Welsh lads who go to Wales international games.
To be honest Swansea are insufficient to most of the English firms. Even the small clubs like Newport and Wrexham are better than Swansea.
@@WBA729 yeah you’re right there mate, Swansea who 🤣
@@O___629 I find that hard to believe however I'm not saying that you are wrong. But I lived in Hereford back in the 1990's and they are the biggest haters of The Welsh.
Love the jelous thing fucking brilliant 🤩🦢
Get John evans on with a Swansea lad
I noticed that Boro are in all three's top five firms..nice one..Al says nobody took Cardiff in Cardiff but on previous pods it's mentioned that Boro took their pub and got the best outside..the only firm to do it apparently
It did. Happen. 1994
@@JohnChristopher-n6fBarnsley
Yes boro did turn us over outside the Albert pub in the city centre we had a go but got done simple, still good pals with a few boro to this day top lads top class mob

Yep they were good that day Boro . Allo was their top boy that day I think. Guy that killed Lee Duffy .
Excellent when is part 2 ?
That was Oxford away in 82 in that pub by the Manor Ground. Frankie et al in the home end again..
Saying the jacks can’t take 10,000 you lot can’t fill the fucking Lego stadium😂😂😂
😂
Love hearing these old guys talking about how it was without trying to big themselves ip as top boys they were just young guys caught up in the whole thing unlike Ginger Bob Mariner etc who just go on about the Time they single handedly took on hundreds and run them 😂
What time into it do the boys start talking about away at Chelsea 👍. That’s what I’m here for, so I am 👀🥊
Ooow second half
My mate Jim Fortey (RIP) was staunch CCFC. Had me in stitches describing the Ayatollah.... Love Alan- lives by me-top bloke, brutally honest 😂
I went to school with Jim although I'm Newport County, he was a great lad.
Cant understand the chap with the glasses

Remember Chelsea on the Bob Bank in 78.. got battered. But Chelsea were very good in those days.
@@althomas3168 shut upp 😴 🙄
Time to get The Jacks on, they need to explain the Swim away incident.
These boys are tho. Bunch of kids ran into the sea. Fact
@@josephbuckley5961 The PVM were of the same age as the Mini Angels! They weren't kids,Tino Meli is the same age as Annis who claims they were kids!
That's it us Jack's just get on with it
U allways see new blogs with cardiff
Fuck me every time I turn RUclips on there another cardiff blog
Swim away was 30 or so swansea 20 cardiff
All from port Talbot
Pvm
They came back down in cars after the game 2 hour later to pick of stragglers
Parked near beach and got found out by slightly more number
Was rather a tear up or only way out was into swansea Bay
They choosed the bay
They were early to mid 20s as same age as me at the time
Know most them as they often come down in cars driving around to pick us of alone
Had me twice, once with my missis and once with my younger brother and 2 mates
2 car loads
Belive what u will as its boring now

Loved hearing stories of Cardiff city from 3 legends 🔵⚪️🔵⚪️
T.c.s., torquay cabbage squad, feared nationwide.
How embarrassing
This is great. Id love to see 80s 90s 00s and Youth of today on the round table talking about the different eras and whos the best. Also, you need to get the Jacks on the round table with the Soul Crew lads and let them go head to head
They. Ever want to k ow Cardiff have been all for it
The Jacks were just a joke in the mid 90s to 2000s. We hated them but never saw them as a threat.

This would probebly be a good watch. But could we have subtitles please. Can't understand a word. 😂😂😂😂
I was on the pictch d9wn The Shay with these lads 83/84

I've heard that Cardiff have never been turned over on numerous times during this interview, but isn't it well documented that my beloved Boro turned you and your pub the Albert over back in 94, interested to hear your take on that infamous encounter UTB

Well two friends of mine went to a welsh cup game in the seventies between Cardiff and Swansea at ninin Park they were both cardiff fans they said Swansea turned up in their thousands on a Tuesday night game and after the game Swansea chased cardiff all over the place all this thing about the eighties and nineties you could swear there was no fighting before then
Question for the boys besides annise how do the boys rate the port.
Congratulations Cullen on your big brake face of walkers Texan bbq pizza crisps 🎉

The villa handed your arse to you lot, in your main boozer 😂
When?
No no fella what actually happened was villa waited and waited until the boozer (the Cornwall, which has never been our main boozer ever by the way)villas lads hung on until there was only a handful of cardiff left in the pub an outside then had a go at the pub and hardly any of them got inside mind 😳lads from both sides got bird for it……funny though as we’d been in contact with them all day an they knew where to go and the same boozer had 200 lads there an hour before they decided to have a pop at it convenient timing 🤣
