Currently just watched the Fire scenes.. Gosh I wish Bea gave the Freak what for.. I came to Prisoner half way through after Bea N Lizzy. When Myra took the reigns then Rita.. Can't believe I left it so long to watch from the beginning, but loving the rewatch.. It's amazing how much Prisoner events still take place, especially here in the UK where I think it was is adored. RÍP all the past greats who made the show and are sadly no longer with us, and to the sound tracks too which amplified the tension and drama. ❤

Prisoner used a lot of the same incidental music as The Sweeney and The Famous Five. Hard to believe a kids tv series used the same music library as hard hitting violent dramas.

Do you know the name/artist for the track used between 6:00-6:20? Always thought it was highly emotive!

That one is “Prisoners of War” by Alessandro Alessandroni. Rathouse Library Music is well worth a follow for Prisoner music here on RUclips, in case you’re not following them already. 🙂👍

On which ITV region did you see the great fire?

@@pak8606 Initially Central, then Anglia. It was edited on Yorkshire (they excised Joan banging Bea’s head on the floor, for example 🤷‍♂️)

@@jezt42 Central was 17 June 1989, Anglia 13 June 1991, YTV/TT 29 April 1993. I heard that YTV heavily edited the fight scene between Joan and Bea.

@@pak8606 I read somewhere (wiki I think) Yorkshire edited Prisoner because of a local prison nearby where Prisoner had been popular with inmates. If true, I find their editing rationale absurd. Last time I checked there are prisons all over the world lol. Cotton wool anyone?!
