It was only after making a video about this deck for a friend that I realized how I see this deck as one for survivors. I loved this deck from the start and didn't really see the darker aspects and I believe that as a survivor of childhood trauma I saw more of a kinship than something disturbing. To deal with such issues as a child you have to learn to incorporate ugly truths into your life in order to live as a survivor instead of a victim. Beautiful girls surviving horrid acts and sometimes fantasizing about turning the tables, it's just my take but it explains my instant connection to this deck and also explains why some people may have a very scary, emotional response to certain cards without knowing why. That's why I stopped carrying the deck with me to whip out in bars and festivals to get interest in my business, I ended up counseling woman who would break down in the middle of a fun little spread. It's not for everyone but it is one of my "soul" decks.
I definitely can see this as a survivors deck and it has certainly come out in that manner as well, I'm glad that you found a place for it outside of bars and festivals that are probably not the place you want to have people confronting their past o.O :)
+The Truth in Story Yeah, my 78 Cards that I did a deck mod with leather backing works much better as a deck to carry around with me! No tears so far, at least not over the deck, everyone loves that one.
@@veronicajude Thank you for your beautiful comment 🧡 That explains why I resonate with the deck so much and do not see anything dark or disturbing like I heard some people say. I will bear your comment in mind if I use it for other people
Sandrine M Yes, it didn’t take me long to realize that a lot of people had very strong reactions to the deck so now I use it for myself and if I choose it for a clients specific needs. It’s been a couple of years since I made this comment but I still consider the Nicoletta to be my soul deck. Much love to you! ❤️😘
Although these images were not painted with tarot in mind, they do deal with some of the deepest parts of human nature...fears, hopes, dreams, fantasy. It's not a deck for everyone, but I find it very moving, and very beautiful.
This deck for me represents my childhood in so many ways. There was happiness, but there were also too many times when I was forced to deal with adult issues that should not have touched me at all. When I look at them I am pulled back in time and not in a wholly bad way, but the cards remind me of what a child's mind can do to them in order to make sense of a world turned upside down. I see myself in every card and they are beautiful..... even the terrifying ones for with every one of those we grow, we learn and become.
Love the cards and art work . Disappointed with the little booklet ( if we can call it that ). Hope she makes a real book to accompany these beautiful cards - that would make me so happy as this is one of my favorite Decks for inner child work.
Just ordered mine. Was so drawn to it. I was going to buy another tarot, but I couldn’t take this tarot away from my mind. It’s like I connected it to it. The other tarot cards I was not so sure to buy, but with this one..i knew I wanted it. Anyway, at the end I decided to purchase it, aside with another deck, that I’m not sure about, but we’ll see when I get it. It’s such beautiful cards, I’m glad I got it. Now time to learn more about tarot ;)
I pre order this deck when it came out. I was really anxious and when it came in I was fascinated but then I couldn't connect. That makes me really sad. But when I saw this video i get my deck again and lot of things came up. Someone wrote that is a survivors deck. And maybe it is. My father died when I had almost 7 years. I draw a card and the 8 of swords came up... and that was exactly like me in those years... it really makes me cry... it s very deep to me , know that I am working more with it.
Oh my gosh I am so glad that this deck review is here! I was shown this deck at a store and it just stuck with me, mainly because it WASNT RWS and I didn't KNOW what it was all about. Also, haha totally get the creepy children thing--hilarious! Love your videos!!
Ooo I want this deck now 💜💜 thank you so much. Your channel is helping me learn and develop so much. Learning at 51 is a joy. Thank you for being part of my journey 💜
I fell in love with this deck the first time I saw this review. On second watching I love it even more! I really like the meanings assigned to the cards, which I will take the time to learn. I just hope the cardstock is sturdy enough for my standards! Thanks Kelly xx
I was absolutely drawn to this deck as soon as I saw it, I never realized it was seen in a triggering way to people until I saw more reviews of it, it makes me think of why I want this deck? Definitely a good one for shadow work. I just absolutely love the eerie and unfamiliar vibes that this deck gives off and i am just so drawn to the unfamiliar familiarity of it idk if that makes sense
Wonderful review, thank you, convinced me that I should buy the deck and do some readings with it. It seems like the majors do very much follow RWS guidelines, but the minors veer a little far. As you say this is fine because with the minors perhaps a little intuition goes a long way and we should not be "stuck" with Pamela Colman Smith being our forever guide regardless of how wonderful her images remain.
This deck takes me back to when I would dissociate as a child.. it became a comfort for "anything" it was trauma, stress, newness... I had a fictional horse and would watch myself ride my horse better than you'd see in any western.. I rode him from Manchester to Glasgow on more than one occasion keeping up and often flying by my dad's car. Every footstep of my horse I saw and knew, every breath when he was getting puffed out..this was something we were skilled at though we could go any distance...it was a pleasant woken dream that took me away from the distress I felt often..this deck sung to me ❤️
Thank you for sharing that experience, it was beautiful in the midst of the distress and I appreciate your showing how very powerful the mind is in trying to help us cope! ::HUGS::
Super informative video ,I have just ordered this deck after watching this video, just love it Thankyou so much for your always very honest opinion and sharing this very different deck. Blessings galore to you☻. ?
I felt the same way as you prior to getting the deck but each time I use it I find more things out that are healing for me. I combine with the Ceccoli Oracle deck and have amazing readings. Thanks for this review as it made see some of the cards in a completely different view. Happy reading. :-)
Thanks for this i just ordered this and was going inbetween this and the deviant moon tarot and was so drawn to this one instead your video shows me i made the right choice! Super excited now my first deck which i have had for years and is a little destroyed is shadowscapes even though she damaged they treat me well so this one will be a whole new vibe
Great review Kelly as always,I like this deck for journaling to see more in deep for all theimages ,because some cards I find disturbing showing the shadow side within ,I dont see like reverse deck.I guess,I hope make sense.
+fatima nayeli I agree, I think often the things that make a reaction, even a cringe, are hitting something that we might need to dig into further, though sometimes it's just not a deck for us, figuring that out is half the fun :)
I really like your interpretation on this deck because I felt attracted to the art in a strange sort of way but felt kind of iffie about the deck. I like the Alice in Wonderland, dream sort of fantasy that the images invoke. I've thought about purchasing the deck many times but I just didn't know exactly how I really felt about it. I can see how this deck could help you work on your inner child, or even childhood abuse or experiences. You know how to bring out the best interpretation of the cards. Whenever I'm on the fence about a deck I can come to your channel to get the best meaning of the deck. Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us you are very intuitive and spot on in your views.
This is a very unique deck and gives me Alice in Womderland vibes which I love. I really like it! I'm not sure I'm intuitive enough or an advanced enough reader for it yet but when I am, it'll be going on my wish list. Do you know if the mini version comes with a guidebook?
Yay so glad you also like this deck! There have really been two camps in the tarot community with this one. ;) I am definitely a fan. I find it unique, beautiful, and it evokes a lot of emotions and thoughts in me. At first it confused me a bit but you are right, one really needs to let go of traditional meanings and kind of let the cards speak for themself. Fantastic review, even though I have it already I loved hearing your thoughts on some of the cards :)
This has been on my wish list since it came out but have put off buying it because people kept saying it was no good for beginners. I have to say, seeing all of the cards and hearing your impressions on the deck, I think it looks rather readable to me. I will have to wait a little longer before picking this up though as I have just bought the Zombie Tarot deck (have you seen it?). Thank you, as always. Your videos are a joy. x
+lilpinkbear Hm, well I do understand the concept of "beginner" decks but I think that is a very individual thing. I picked the Llewellyn Tarot because it resonated with me, it probably isn't a good beginner deck because some of the names are changed and it's based on Welsh mythology...but I learned to read with it. I think that this isn't a hard deck at all to read if you don't try to force it into Rider Waite meanings but go with what it is saying to you and peek at the guidebook. I have seen the the Zombie Tarot but I haven't taken a serious look at it, which you can imagine has been quite difficult for me LOL :D
+The Truth in Story I guess it's just because the RWS is held as the gold standard and anything that deviates from that is seen as tricky. On saying that, my first ever deck was the Osho Zen about sixteen years ago. It's always read beautifully for me and when I bought it, I had no idea about all the different available systems. I had break from tarot for over a decade and now I want to learn the RWS inside out, so any decks that deviate from that (no matter how pretty) seem like a distraction (though I still end up buying them).
+lilpinkbear I can understand that, I did settle in and study the RWS system as well and that is my "base" but since I feel settled in that base (not that I'm not ever learning, but the foundation is there), I find it refreshing when a deck does its own thing and don't find it difficult as long as I am aware of it and just let it go where it will :)
Very interesting artwork & I really enjoyed your review ~ of course! Although this wouldn't be a deck for me, I really do appreciate your reviews! Blessings to you!
I have this deck, and after watching your review of the John Bauer tarot and checking out Ethony's Story Tarot Spread that you mentioned and linked, I think they'll work together wonderfully! Thanks! :)
The first vid of yours - I think - that I didn't watch from start to finish, stopped at the Star. Strange complete disconnection, even stranger cause I do adore many of the pictures. IDK. But great you liked it, it's nice to unexpectedly like something. :)
+BartolomeJacinto I definitely think it is a polarizing deck and I can certainly see how people wouldn't be drawn to it. I 100% thought I would be checking it out and moving it on but there is definitely something very "hitting" about it that was unexpected.
I don't care for decks which take existing artwork and try and force them into a tarot format. Seems to work better for oracle decks. Thank you for this review:)
+crystalheart9 I 100% agree and have seen people trim this down to just the image and use it as an oracle, which would be very easy to do as the images lend themselves to intuitive interpretation!
I dont like those eather..when she said this one's like that I wanted to escape watching review.. but I didn't and I think pictures are well thought tru after all! :)
The lovers card could be lilith and she chose to love herself more, rather than submit to Adam. 💜 (And then to offer that same choice of independence/disobedience to Eve.)
This is a very cool looking deck. The backing is beautiful. I always trust your reviews bc we tend to look for similar things in the cards. I also am not a fan of baby sun cards. They say nothing to me other than maybe a pregnancy is on the way. There is a lo scarabeo deck called wheel of the year which really has that yang masculine aspect of the sun that I think really connects well with what you look for in that card. Its a lovely deck with really fun artwork and reads nicely. Anyways, i will now stick this one in my cart, lol. Thanks!!😁
When I found out the art wasn't created specifically for a tarot deck, I initially wrote the deck off but the art is so unique and compelling that I finally caved in and bought it. I am totally under its spell. It feels very wintery and hauntingly beautiful. I have been thinking about buying a second copy to crop off the borders and use it just as an oracle deck with no tarot titles to influence me.
This would definitely be a difficult deck for a new person to Tarot and some of the images are not going to correlate to what you see in other guide books :/ In many ways it would be better as an oracle system where you just read intuitively from the images--I know there is now an oracle deck from this artist!
Just pre-ordered the oracle deck on amazon. Thank you so much for your response. I've been researching this tarot deck trying to figure out how to read them once I get them but I will wait till I learn more about tarot.
Love this! Do you know if the images are pre-existing and fitted into the tarot system later on? Or were they created especially for this deck? Thanks for sharing!
+Nobody Here The deck uses pre-existing images that are put to the system, which is why you have to not come at it from your traditional meanings much of the time. The booklet is helpful to see where the creators were going with images even though they are short meanings.
Ah. That explains a lot. Decks like that is often challenging. But I think I am going to like this deck a lot. So far I have only seen one deck that adapted pre-existing artwork very well into a tarot deck: The Tarot of Delphi. Another is an oracle deck, which if not for the title which contained the word Kuan Yin, would have been one of the coolest adaptation of pre-existing paintings into a deck, The Wild Kuan Yin. Thanks so much for your response!!
+Nobody Here I 100% agree, it is one of my "don't buy" reasons as I don't think they work very well and this one is no exception if you try to read it with traditional meanings. But if you let it be what it is, it seems to have it's own voice!
I have looked through the deck and love the images, but not the association with the tarot structure. I dislike having to go off into a different understanding, or, to force what I get or do not get from an image into the traditional structure. Since this composed of pre-sisting artwork, which somewhat have been in fact forced into tarot, I am thinking of trimming all the borders off, titles, numbers, suits, and all, leaving only the picture, and use it like the Waterhouse deck by Seven Stars :)
Loved this! Finally I did see all the cards :D I´m quite fascinated by it, I have to say. I don´t feel like it´s a deck for me personally (too much Alice in Wonderland), but I really could see what you meant saying it was poignant. And I found a lot of humor in the cards as well. Giggled a lot watching this video. :)
I have the Oracle and it reminds me of a cross between Alice In Wonderland and Stephan King's It. With a smattering of Supernatural (the TV show). Now as to the movie/book It, I started to read it once and threw it across the room. I can't with It. This deck gives me a bit of that feel but doesnt make me want to exactly throw it across the room. It makes me feel like I'm right on the edge of what I can deal with. So many cards have a predatory and/or sinister feel. I'm dedinitly planning to work with it for a while and see what happens. Ps. I've never had food talk in my dreams.
Some images are ethereally uplifting, others ethereally disturbing. It's one of those decks I have to really put on a scale, weigh both qualities, and in this case it just doesn't make it to my collection. Can't get past some of those images. I loved what Zennistar said about these cards though (ruclips.net/video/mE9vSjLryew/видео.html). It is an interesting deck for sure, even if the images were picked and imposed as cards.
Hey Kelly, thank you for the review. First I wasn't interested, but I can now see I would be able to use this. I was wondering: don't you think it is bothersome that there are no boys/guys in this deck?
I love it. It was recomended to check this one out after dealing with sweet twilight that i adore . So i didn't think this will impress me much now. But it's great. Thou ST is more broader in themes..this one seems mostly for inner child work.. and oh boy that My inner child feels like slashing that carrot thing in 5swords :D &so the reading make sense also. U were, unusually to yourself, cheerfull with this deck. so i hope it serves you well. Tnx
Oh dear. I didn't thought I would like this. Have the same feeling with spokey children haha but oh dear. My body reacts to the images and meanings. Thx for showing
hahha i got issues, ran back to the pc and ordered it and from now on I will make a wishlist, like in the old days hahah have a great evening, almost midnight here so will kick myself to bed
This deck seems very dark in means of interpretation. The creepy kids however, and creepy they are, are capturing me. I think if I were to use them it would be sort of a reading adding balance when using multiple decks instead of using reversals, giving me the Ying Yang, especially with pick a card reading for youtube. I'm intrigued.
I love the art of Ceccoli, but I did not buy this deck, because it came in one of those irritating cheap tuck boxes, with only a hint of a manual. The lack of production value in Lo Scarabeo decks is starting to annoy me, more and more. I wish U.S. Games Systems had released this deck.
I am with you. Children with big heads, huge eyes and small bodies are creepy and I wouldn't read with that deck. Creepy and it doesn't work for me, either.
+Alta1122 :D and that is a worthwhile thing to know! There are too many decks out there to work with ones that don't resonate so I consider it a job well done whether people are able to figure out YES I love it or NO I'll put my time and money into something else!
Yes and thank you so much for taking the time. Have said yes to three decks..two purchased and one on wish list....based on your reviews. Have also purchased a Lenormand deck based on your review as well.

It is definitely a powerful deck! It can be such a strong feeling to have such resonance to images like that!
This was the first deck I purchased just because I was so drawn to the art. I also purchased the Oracle deck which I am completely in love with.
Do you find yourself using one more than the other? I always thought this would make an excellent oracle deck!
I find it hard to believe these were not made specifically as tarot art. The art matches with the meanings perfectly in my opinion!
Well that is great that it resonates so well with your meanings! :D
The Truth in Story it’s a very interesting deck, that I think I’m going to have to purchase!
@@Morlla234 i agree with both of ur comments :)

Wow, that's a great idea!
I dont like those eather..when she said this one's like that I wanted to escape watching review.. but I didn't and I think pictures are well thought tru after all! :)
The lovers card could be lilith and she chose to love herself more, rather than submit to Adam. 💜
(And then to offer that same choice of independence/disobedience to Eve.)
Thanks!!😁
Sold!
+leviosa crimson I can definitely see using this without the titles and tarot designations and think it would work quite lovely that way as well!!
Just received this desk from Amazon. I will explore for myself, but had to watch this video again...lol
I love this deck but I am fairly new to tarot. The guide book doesn't give much info. Any other book I can use as a guide?
The Ceccoli Tarot deck is composed of images that were previously created by the artist.
Loved this! Finally I did see all the cards :D
I´m quite fascinated by it, I have to say. I don´t feel like it´s a deck for me personally (too much Alice in Wonderland), but I really could see what you meant saying it was poignant. And I found a lot of humor in the cards as well. Giggled a lot watching this video. :)
+Cuilfaen It is very poignant, definitely with a sense of humor, but also just as definitely doesn't pull any punches, I'm quite enamored with it!
No. I think the emperor is quite enough.
Tnx
Small deck. Big meanings.
Indeed!
Oh dear. I didn't thought I would like this. Have the same feeling with spokey children haha but oh dear. My body reacts to the images and meanings. Thx for showing
+Tamara Cramer Bornemann Exactly, there is definitely a "hit" to these cards that is pretty powerful!
hihi shh shhh i said i wouldnt buy any more decks for a while.. and im fighting here hahahha
+Tamara Cramer Bornemann lol shushing right now :D
hahha i got issues, ran back to the pc and ordered it and from now on I will make a wishlist, like in the old days hahah
have a great evening, almost midnight here so will kick myself to bed
+Tamara Cramer Bornemann ;) lol goodnight!!! :D
Is it weird that I feel drawn to this but also feel like throwing up at the same time?
I dont think its weird
My desk is only 3 x 1.5 inches...tiny, not mini, but what I wanted for the portability factor-and I’m a weird guy.
When I look at the Devil card all I see is a creepy carrot 🥕🥕😂😂
nothing creepy about it-I just find it hauntingly beautiful with amazing artwork and colours use*but I guess everything is subjective
I wish so much I could get this but my parents think Tarot cards are demonic and a scam.
piKa r4wR you could just buy it when you move out
It's weird to me bit how can something be both?
i’ve been there, hopefully it’ll get better for you!
'cause thats a creepy worm......devil' hehehehehehe
+Venus circled :D :D :D
Thanks to you the first time I saw this video. It’s all your fault. 🍀
I love the 6 of coins. I have pet rats
The devil looks like a carrot to me...
I am with you. Children with big heads, huge eyes and small bodies are creepy and I wouldn't read with that deck. Creepy and it doesn't work for me, either.
So children are creepy... cuz they tend to have small bodies and big heads and big eyes.
Nope!.....definitely not to my liking.
+Alta1122 lol.... I'm not sure whether to apologize or pat myself on the back :D :D :D
+The Truth in Story its always a good thing!!! : )
I love her work. I never thought of those interesting beings as children. I thought they were dolls or fantasy creatures, lol.
