It’s so interesting to see how our culture and nationality and experiences shape our ideas/ what we see in the scriptures. Those who have worked as foreigners in different countries because they needed the money understand the desperation. They understand that the reality of having to do that is humiliating. It’s the reason why you see foreigners doing jobs Americans won’t do. For less pay. It’s need, desperation and humiliation. Do we praise these people as incredibly faithful and devoted to God? Perhaps. They move with the hope of a better future to a place unknown simply because their realities in the home country are desperate, and they have heard there’s something better elsewhere. I don’t think Ruth is a hero or someone to be lauded because of this. She made the choices she made because the alternatives were not better.

In Genesis after the man named the animals what's was Eve's role beyond be a helper and submit to her husband? Are cultural evolutions women specifically married or divorced as sole providers a result of sin, disobedience etc?
