- God was leading Ruth to the perfect place to begin her rescue. God does the same in our lives: He guides us to people and places so that we can be fed His word; He surrounds us with people to protect us; and He proves to be a shelter from the storms in life. This is the fourth message in a 7-week series on the book of Ruth called Rescue & Rest.

One thing I was surprised by....you mentioned that when a person comes to the LORD it is quite common for them to receive contact from one of the cults..........I returned to the LORD only about 4 years ago at 61 years old when my Mother became very ill with dementia. We were living in a small village out on the Fens in Norfolk Uk ...no trains and hardly a bus a day !!
I was gardening planting up vegetables when a young guy and his small son turned up at our door......he was sda although I didn't know that at the time he had rented a small bungalow about a quarter mile from us and had walked to our place.
He wandered around the veg garden with me and brought up the subject of GOD.
I started enthusiastically talking about the LORD and how HE had blessed my veg garden......poor guy couldn't get a word in.
He left and returned only once when I purchased a cook book from him......he never came back again and moved very quickly.
When I looked at the book info I found it was from the sda church.
Thanks again for your great teaching.....looking forward to the next section.

WOW! An interesting personal experience to remind you that 'other fields' may look the same but aren't equally safe. But God was protecting you all along!

Like you say, people tend to focus on Ruth so thank you for directing our attention in the right Direction. To Him. To our Lord. Such amazing grace and peace.
