Hey! The one and only Ellas McDaniel!!! Bo Diddley doesn't get anywhere close to the respect he deserves as a Rock and Roll pioneer, songwriter, and most of all a true showman. There is simply something a little bit... wilder about him than Chuck Berry et al. Bo Diddley prowled the stage like a panther and chopped out guitar riffs that cut deep. Bo probably made the older folks EXTRA nervous back in the 1950s/60s. I was lucky enough to see him twice in Ann Arbor MI at the Blind Pig in 1988. Or 1989. My time at U of M is fuzzy in these later years.. He put on a hell of a show both times and in such a small venue (100 people or so) it was perfection; I've forgotten most of the arena rock shows I saw back then but I can still call up the image of Bo Diddley on the stage at the Blind Pig. RIP Ellas!
The best rhythm guitarist who ever lived. Raw and in the drive. Probably a missing link between the most primitive call and response blues, electric blues and rock and roll. Bo's guitar models were the coolest and still are. Bo is still the Boss.
This is The Big T.N.T. Show is a film of a concert directed by Larry Pierce and featuring some of the most well know musical acts of the day. Spanning the worlds of R & B, Rock and Roll, and Folk, the concert included Joan Baez, Ray Charles, Donovan, Roger Miller, The Ronettes, Ike and Tina Turner, and Bo Diddley.
This is with Norma Jean being it was The Big T.N.T. Show which was a film of a concert directed by Larry Pierce and featuring some of the most well know musical acts of the day. Spanning the worlds of R & B, Rock and Roll, and Folk, the concert included Joan Baez, Ray Charles, Donovan, Roger Miller, The Ronettes, Ike and Tina Turner, and Bo Diddley. Fact.
Bo Diddley had been playing like this since the early 50s. I always preferred Bo Diddley over Chuck Berry because of his style, he was more rough around the edges. Bo Diddley was the loudest and roughest of the Rock 'N Rollers basically. It would even hit the borders of actual Hardrock during some of his live performances later on. Amazing stuff. He was an absolute pioneer.
hey this gets my feet tapping make you want too move when i hear this wow real music is the best not like the shit they make for music today been rocking and rolling since 1960
1. That’s expensive. I’ve got a better plan, keep the Dutchess on guitar and make the other 2 play drums and bass. Or make one play synth/ piano and the other can play bass. 2. Bands don’t really play strip and gentleman’s clubs anymore, so stand and look sexy isn’t adding to the act like it did in those days

Those babes can move!
One of my favourites on RUclips. The Duchess on rhythm and the ‘Bodetes’ beautifully choreographed. What more could one ask for!
Mine too. I watch it constantly and just now saw the colorized version that's been uploaded. It adds to it more than not. I think

As Ned Flanders might say, those babes are Bo-Diddley-iscious!
Awesome
Hell yes rock,roll 24,7
Impressive for the style and self-assurance these musicians radiate in their performance.
for the 60’s this is really heavy, just the chugging he’s doing on his guitar makes it heavier than hell.
Right. This is pure Mötorhead. Lemmy was a true old rock and roll and Motown fan.
This was 1955
By then he had been doing it for 10 years

I wonder when this performance is. Looks to be the early 1960s if the women's hairstyles are any indication.
1965
They liked Fender amplifiers
We need chicks like this now
