    This is a begginer question, and my apologies, but what keys/shortcut did you type to input the octagons on the opposite two corners of the box at the 0:20-0:22 mark of the video?

      I'm sorry but what is the answer to this for a MAC again? I can seem to change the octagon to a diamond

    Follow me and rotate tool doesn`t seem to work with SketchUp 2018. Is there any newer substitute to do the job?

    what's the plugin you used at 1:10 to make the initial arc?

      It's called "The Wire Tool" in the Extension Warehouse. It's by Aerilius.

    OK, now you're just messing me with regards to the sound or lack thereof? Good stuff, I need to make a rope for one model and some twisted wrought iron for a gate in another model and now I know how.

      Sorry, no sounds per se. I had to model a "clear coated twisted cable" railing for my current project and was stumped o how to do it. I finally stumbled across the follow and rotate plugin and it solved it right away. Gotta love Sketchup.

      It is the BZ Convert which is a part of the BZ Toolkit from Fredosix. Any operation that is "following" a path, is using the path segments to determine the subdivisions of the final extruded shape. The more path segments, the more subdivision. In the last example we were using a straight light with no segments, so we had to add them in order for Follow me and Rotate to work.

      Unfortunately Follow and rotate stopped being updated and doesn't work anymore. If you desperately need it, you can still find Sketchup Make 2017 around and the plugin works in the that version I believe.

    Not sure what happens at 4:40? Converts to quads or something. Annoying when you can't see all of the tools & what is being selected.

    • @3DArtistree
      @3DArtistree  8 лет назад

      4:40 is just reversing the faces and then using the Soften Edges window to toggle smoothing. I'm just slighting moving the slider that sets the degree angle for softening. I realize it's not the easiest to follow along with. I needed a twisted cable for a project I was just making a quick video of some ideas I came up with to achieve it. If I have time, I'll remake it with audio.

      Sweet. Thanks for clarifying. Just can't see all your tools on UI. Maybe better if screen capture was bigger as well. Great video otherwise. Cheers.

      Sorry bro. This is an old video. The Follow and Rotate plugin does not work on SU 2019 & SU 2020 anyway. I just got a new camera and mic so I'm going to make better content soon with better instructions. There are better ways to do this now so I'll make a better video on it soon.

      @@3DArtistree I'm sorry for the comment. Thank you for posting this video anyways. I'm glad to hear that you got a new camera and mic! Looking forward to more content from you!
