There are a couple of thing to avoid this situation. First if the DB is playing outside leverage you should never force a release to the outside. Simply because the DB can just push you out of bounds. If the DB is playing inside leverage than you attack his leverage inside because not only you threaten him to go inside (which will make him panic) but you have more space from you to the boundaries. Which can make it a easier throw for the QB.
