My thoughts are the same about things of this type. All the athletic people, all the dancers, and all the people in the world who are gifted in other ways are truly incredible, unique and in some cases even rare.
I came across this video about two days ago and I haven't been able to stop watching it. The profound sense of beauty and creativity that filled me was astounding. I truly can't put into words how watching this video makes me feel. The artistry behind the movements, the motions, the setting, the camera, everything. I've tried over a dozen times to put into words how watching this dance affects me and why I can't take my eyes off of it, but I simply don't have the vocabulary to do so. Thank you for creating such a gorgeous piece of art and sharing all of your hard work and dedication that went into making this.
This is hauntingly beautiful. The vast empty blue space, the sunken ship with corals and sand on them, a lady ballet dancing with no bubbles between her movement. Just beautiful. I imagine if a mermaid has her feet underwater she would've danced like so.
She may not have held her breath for the duration of the video, but that doesn’t mean she can’t hold her breath for decently long at all! My best guess is that she’s able to hold it for around 2 to 2-and-a-half minutes.
They might not have used compressed air. And at that depth you cannot use pure oxygen. My guess is that they did it on freediving, in multiple shots, taking her down for each shot and then back up again with a scooter. And yes, probably very challenging to design and shoot.
@@raaaaaaarr You'd be surprised how long you could hold your breath after a few days of freediving lessons. The really impressive part is coordinating all the shots in the time available for each one. If I'm right and they're doing it on freediving, they need a scooter operator (also on freediving) to take her down and get out of the way for the shot, then get back in and take her up again. Then they need to spend 5 or 10 minutes on the surface recovering before they do it all over again.
As a dancer, considering the fact that breathing is a very important part of a dance routine, I’m so impressed that she did this so incredibly smoothly without having to actually breathe. The control she had not only within her movement but in her breath as well is amazing. Bravo to the camera man and the dancer, this is incredible and such a hard thing to do! Great job and amazing execution!!
I like to believe that any spirits who live in this debris had a wonderful time watching the ballet for the first time in ages (For the gullible and the contrarian - this is not a literal statement. I’m flabbergasted that this needs saying… )
And the sixth angel sounded, and I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God, saying to the sixth angel which had the trumpet, Loose the four angels which are bound in the great river Euphrates. And the four angels were loosed, which were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year, for to slay the third part of men. Revelation 9:13-15
I'm amazed that she either had no weight belt or that it was so well hidden- those things are necessary and incredibly bulky. This was simply spell binding. Can't wait for your next creation...I could watch this for hours.
She probably doesn't need a lot of weight. A custom set up with flat weights under the bodice wouldn't be terribly hard. I'm quite a bit fluffier than her and have a strong natural buoyancy and only need 12lbs of lead.
She didn’t need them I’m sure. To sink down and stay, all the air in your body has to be exhaled out and held that way. To go up and stay, you take the air back in and hold it. She def had to master her breathing for this.
@@HallieWiseleyCraig I honestly don’t think she was weighted down and it would also explain the 3 years it took for the project…but hey, I could be wrong 🤷🏻♀️. Maybe they will let us know but I doubt it, lol.
The amount of times she must have gone up to catch up some air and then come back again for several takes is just too much to imagine for me. Pure, pure talent it is, she must have insane body control ✨🥹. This deserves millions of views !!!
As a diver myself, I can say this is the most incredibly orchestrated piece of work I’ve seen; for it to be underwater below these depths makes it even more breathtaking. Just Wow. Incredible work
As a former dancer her skills, strength and flexibility are insane. A lot of flexibility training is pushing against resistance. If you can do the splits for example, gravity is helping you, imagine trying to just do them freely in water. That’s SO much harder.
One of the most beautiful, sophisticated, and talented things I've ever seen. I can't even imagine how you would film something like this without a footprint. The stillness of the sand and water is unreal. No bubbles, no sand kickups, no debris floating everywhere. It's fantastic.
Wow! To be able to not only hold your breath this long, but dive down and then DANCE underwater - this woman is the most incredible athlete! Moving underwater takes more effort due to the resistance, and she makes it look so graceful and easy. I love swimming, but I'd be panicking to be underwater that long, and so far from the surface.
Considering how often the camera cut away from the dancer, I would expect this to be a series of short episodes, broken with her using an oxygen tank and/or being helped to the surface to breathe and regain strength. There was a safety team on hand, most likely consisting of divers, a medic and other professionals to assist between takes. This was a massive, physically demanding piece of work, and could have taken days to get every shot the way the director wanted. It was well-worth the effort.

@@stuff2047Imagine doing ballet for a few seconds without any air in your lungs and no air supply in sight. She had to be weighted somehow!
@@HallieWiseleyCraig I honestly don’t think she was weighted down and it would also explain the 3 years it took for the project…but hey, I could be wrong 🤷🏻♀️. Maybe they will let us know but I doubt it, lol.
If you look at one of the director's Instagram behind-the-scenes reels, they used small weights attached at strategic points on her body. Very clever!
The amount of times she must have gone up to catch up some air and then come back again for several takes is just too much to imagine for me. Pure, pure talent it is, she must have insane body control ✨🥹. This deserves millions of views !!!
This was beautiful. I wonder if she's a synchronized swimmer...her comfort in the water is evident.
i am simply in awe… the body control is INSANE
The best part was her grace because I did not feel suffocated watching her. Brilliant performance.
As a diver myself, I can say this is the most incredibly orchestrated piece of work I’ve seen; for it to be underwater below these depths makes it even more breathtaking. Just Wow. Incredible work
Is this green screen? An in studio tank? Or do you have a secret weight and o2 mouth piece on you?
I have so many questions
I appreciate the dancing underwater but the videography of it is amazing, it makes it so cinematic and compliments her dancing.
Stunning. Camera work, choreography everything
This is unreal. Just wow. The talent of not only the dancer but the videographer is amazing.
How can someone be so agile in this much amount of water pressure! Unbelievable!
That back flip into a split off the boat is unbelievably fantastic xoxo
As a former dancer her skills, strength and flexibility are insane. A lot of flexibility training is pushing against resistance. If you can do the splits for example, gravity is helping you, imagine trying to just do them freely in water. That’s SO much harder.
Right? With a split, you generally have either gravity or momentum helping (e.g., a grande jete). Here it’s just pure muscle.
HOW DOES THIS NOT HAVE MILLIONS OF VIEWS.
Thank you!
THIS IS LITERALLY WHAT I WISH THE LIVE ACTION OF LITTLE MERMAID SHOULD'VE BEEN IT'S SO BEATIFUL 💙💙💙💙
girl what
@@eggoozEATS😂😂😂😂 just saying anything cause what!
man that would be rad but very difficult
@@eggoozEATS i think get what they are saying but itd be soooo hard if not near impossible.
wtf are you talking bout this and little mermaid are two different things stop just saying anything just to say it
One of the most beautiful, sophisticated, and talented things I've ever seen. I can't even imagine how you would film something like this without a footprint. The stillness of the sand and water is unreal. No bubbles, no sand kickups, no debris floating everywhere. It's fantastic.
A phenominal dance perfectly encapsulating what it used to feel like to be a kid doing tricks and dances under water at the local pool
Gives new meaning to the phrase, ‘Dancing on Someone’s Grave’.
Exactly.
I don’t know how this ballet could be possible over there, but wow!!! This video is magnetic and that woman is so stunning. 👏🏼
This was deep! The fact that you’re average person can’t even hold their breath for 30 seconds, amazing!
2:32 Just straight up chills. This is a breathtaking performance. Well done to everyone involved
Yea really breathtaking for her. Iykyky
Hauntingly beautiful.
Moved to tears. She really embodies many of the feelings I’m having lately
Thank you!
I love when random cool stuff like this pops up on my feed
Same
Such a beautiful expression of the soul of a mermaid. 🧜♀️
thank you
Absolutely breathtaking!
Thank you YT algorithm, this work of art is absolutely phenomenal.
thanks for watching
This is the most beautiful thing I've seen in years.
That’s insanity, how deep is she?! Wow that is so stunning and impressive and beautiful for real.
Это настолько прекрасно, что у меня нет слов !!!
Это божественно !!!
Я счастлив что увидел это !!!
@@k.s.k.7721 It took them three years to make, for only 4 minutes of film.
By far…one of the coolest dances I’ve ever seen…
She literally had me gasping for air the whole time Jesus!!!! 😮😭🙏🏾❤️
The cinematography on this was INSANE
Это просто вау. Поражаюсь смелости и решимости, сколько пришлось дыхание задерживать... Никогда подобного не видела, это очень круто
This is one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen.
