Thank you! This was super helpful! I kept turning the filter clockwise because that’s what was in the manual. It probably didn’t help that it was covered in slippery goo. I can’t believe I’ve never cleaned my dishwasher filters before. It was like something out of a horror movie 🧟‍♀️😱- I wore gloves. Setting a monthly reminder to clean this thing 🤗

Will the dishwasher cleaner get rid of said grime? We have something very similar on our filter... A thick goo, but ours isn't slippery it's more sticky? Like caked on or baked on oil+dirt+grime.
      Recommendations?

Washing that filter is essential. My washer stops working during the first 10 minutes. Goes into Cancel mode and drains. Found out the filter was clogged with calcium build. Soaked it in CLR and used a brush to remove the build up. Washer completes the wash cycle now.

I'd recommend one of those steel mesh strainers for your kitchen sink drain. It's not a great idea to wash those large food particles down the drain, so a strainer that you can empty easily into the garbage is a clog-saver. I buy them at the dollar store and they last a couple of years. Save repairs, save money! Thanks for the helpful video!

Thanks for the informative and to the point video. Question: when you removed both filters, did you have retained water in the part where you removed the first cylindrical filter? I had standing water that had debris floating in it. I'm wondering if that "well" should be dry? Thanks again.

Thank you so much - so grateful for this information when those who brought us up didn't teach us anything about any of this -- I read the manual back to front and it didn't even teach us how to do it! 😊 I am curious - when you put the dishwasher cleaner in there and you use the Finish liquid dishwasher sachets for washing regular dishes ... do you put one of those in the container for the regular dishwashing liquid as well? If you don't do that, will the dishwasher run with * just * the dishwashing cleaner in it?

Any idea why lower undersides aren’t cleaning despite no clogs anywhere? I thought the bottom arm should spin as long as the water is flowing. We’ve started hearing a raining noise during the cycle which is probably the water hitting the basin rather than the dishes. Feels like it should be an easy fix but we’re stumped!
