    Thank you for sharing very informative on the lift data. All's it takes is one shim in the relief valve and voila you covered the weight of the forks! No shortage of counterweight with the backhoe on.

    With hydrosplus lift cylinders and increasing pressure you can double that lift capacity. I know, I lifted 18-80lb bags on a pallet with my 1025r. It was exciting however, as I didn’t have enough ballast and it tipped forward. Fastest I ever lowered the boom, lol!

      Good for you knowing what to do when it tipped forward. I was always taught undo what ever caused the issue immediately. Good job.-Bill

    I went with Artillian forks, 42". They weight 212 lbs so that gets you an extra hundred or so pounds of stuff you can move. But like you said, what's an extra trip when you are on the tractor. Very informative and timely video that I will share with a friend. We were discussing this issue today and as you point out, we realize you only need to get the weight a few inches off the ground.

      Hello Suburban Tractor, Good point, getting forks that weigh less puts that savings into capacity to lift. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

      Bill Burkhart thanks Bill. You are absolutely right about the attachments. It’s fun watching videos to see what guys are doing with them. Like right here with your fork lift and backhoe. I just watched another one and a guy attached a stump grinder. Bill it never occurred to me that there would be so many attachments available that aren’t JD. I wonder if they can be rented. Seems like they would be.

    There's a really good reason for diminished loader capacity...if the manufacturers wanted to, they could equip every tractor with 1500# loaders and not affect their bottom line. But if they did, people would find themselves upside down in their front yards, buried under whole pallets of sod or river rock. While it's definitely way better to lift something 6" off the ground and move it than carry it, I still don't think you can realistically call that a 1100 lb lift. You can realistically unload 500-ish lbs of stuff off a truckbed or trailer, and that's just fine! I'd say what the 1025R lacks in loader capacity, it makes up for with towability from a normal size vehicle, and the fact that you can mow a lawn with it without murdering the grass. everyone has different needs in a tractor. If u need to lift 1000 #'s 5-6 feet in the air, take ur $ and buy a mini skid instead!

    I have the Titan 42" fork on my 2016 1025r, and The frame weighs 103 lbs, and each tine weighs 98 lbs. So pretty much 300 lbs of lifting capacity that I'm already losing. The forks work great and I love having them, but they are realistically to heavy duty for the small 1025r. I just bought them because they were affordable. But I saw a video on here from "Good Works Tractors" showing off a new set of light duty forks by HLA specifically designed for the lift capacity of the smaller 1 series. I would bet that these forks would greatly increase the use-ability of the hydraulics on these tractors. (To an extent, because to much weight could bend or break them.) Anyone interested, check them out here.

      @@billburkhart , Thanks Bill, yeah me too. I'm pretty content right now with the Titan frame, and it has a 2" receiver in the center which is handy. But I'm sure I could get forks that weigh a lot less to try to salvage some lifting capacity. But I'm sure you can also agree that the ruggedness of our current forks is a plus, despite the weight.

  • @texasviking1
    @texasviking1 3 года назад

    If you get the smaller titan 36 inch forks with the 50 inch rack you’ll get more payload capacity because the setup itself weighs about half of the one you have.

    Bill, I have a 522 lbs engine to unload tomorrow. I scrambled to make sure my 1025R could do it. Your numbers seem higher than I expected and when I looked at A TTWT video, he is using a bucket and seems to only lift around 520 lbs. I have the same older, straight arm loader as yours in this video (I think that is the H model?) I know you may not see this in time to respond but any comment? Thanks, Jim.

    • @billburkhart
      @billburkhart  2 года назад

      Jim how high will the engine be above ground to unload? I can only imagine you’re gonna have to lift it from 4 feet and then lower it to the ground, am I correct?

    • @RVJimD
      @RVJimD 2 года назад

      @@billburkhart, I’m not sure, but it is coming from fedex freight so I expect a typical van style semi trailer which I’m guessing will be in the 4 foot tall range.

    • @RVJimD

      I have good counterweight so I’m good there. I think I’ll just see if it can handle it when they show up, if I can’t lift it I’ll have them hold it at the dock for me and go there so they can load it.

      Hi Damian, I’ve since learned that moving the load closer to the fence offers much more lifting capacity. Increasing the throttle is a good idea, too. Thanks for checking in. -Bill

      I used a cheap crappy pallet that had some wood missing from being in dirt since last fall.
      I had 8 80lb bags ( 640 lbs) on it, and with full throttle, I could just get it to below the height of the tailgate of a full-size 4 WD Dodge 2500,
      I removed 1 bag and I was able to load the truck.
      So I would say 550 pounds with a cheap pallet.

    • @Mr42960
      @Mr42960 5 лет назад

      Much variation will result with how close to the backrest the weight is, but I have easily loaded a 550 lb tiller sitting on a pallet using my Artillian forks into a high truck bed.

    • @billburkhart6004
      @billburkhart6004 5 лет назад

      @@Mr42960 I believe your statement, if I purchased another set of forks, I'd choose a lighter weight fork but still keep the backstop. That backstop has prevented damage to my tractor several times now. Thanks for commenting.
