19:54 Catastrophic? Pffft! I nearly spit out my drink. Catastrophic would be if the load smashed into the ship and it sunk as a result. I swear these documentaries never cease to amaze me with the lengths they go to stir up and create drama where there is none.
Chris Wilson iv been told it’s used when they are put up too Because of how heavy they are it takes so much energy to get the first turn in is a lot of times wind can’t do it but once it starts turning the wind can keep it turning and it will quickly generate back to the power of lost from initiating to start

Dadaan sila sa Philippine sea.. makikita ko sila hehehe Anyway i realize na ang boring pala ng trabaho ko simula ng mapanuod ko to. Mas nakakaexcite to kesa sa work ko. Very challenging..
Can ya imagine how hard it is to line up those blades and bolt them to the nacelles? Not as easy as lining up the rim of your car to the studs on your hub?
I Hope this project is the reason DHL didnt get my daughters gifts here in time for Christmas lmao. Ordered Novemeber 8th. Checked December 22nd and it was only in Chicago. Over a month to go from the states to Canada. Go DHL! "It might not be on time, But we'll get your shit there"......Still waiting on those gifts lol....
The receiving end of this shipment has millions and millions of dollars invested in workers, machinery and transportation to get these things on site and operational. It's not something that they just call you when it shows up and everything and everyone is in the right place. Day long delays can cost hundreds of thousands of dollars.
@@ontheroadwithrichierich3086 , The Best thing they did was to call off the lift when the winds got bad. A schedule delay may cost in time.... But Look at the COST of an injured Human Being. Check the OSHA Internet upload of the Milwaukee Crane Incident, Try to tell a family their family member is injured or not coming home. Why because the schedule had to be met. Factor that against mere money. Think of the Fact that Medical Science still cannot repair a Human Being to 100% after an accident even with those Hundreds of Thousands of Dollars.

I've long thought that safety inspectors, engineers and schedule planners should have a minimum 5 years of actual in field work experience before they can come up with their ideas. Safety needs to be realistic Engineers need to understand maintenance requirements and Planners seem to forget that the real world is much different than their paper one.

actually U will find XP and older windows running in several places, If we didnt depend on software updates I would probaly still be running on XP, it just works great and always has. Hospitals and law enforcement as example are still using XP because they are running on their own closed network, just like that ship.
XP is still used in a LOT of industrial and very large vehicle control systems. They are hopefully on closed networks with no internet access. Ones that are tend to be found and exploited quickly, think of it like OS darwinism :P
There were five nacelles, but only nine turbine blades. Windmills use at least three blades each. For five nacelles, that should be fifteen blades. Where were the rest of the blades?
They explained why they had to work so slowly. The material was highly sensitive and would have been damaged by the usual vibrations that would occur when doing a job at the normal pace.
Now this is how you add drama to documentaries without crossing the unneeded added drama line turning it into a reality tv show. Yes there is a difference. LOL
It would be nice if they would a least mention all the details. By this I mean there must have been the need to use the pontoon offset again when unloading the nacelles. Also since there is that need did they bring the empty pontoon with them. Also someone who is an engineer should listen the narrative as mistakes are often used, such as this end center of gravity. No object has a center of gravity on one end. The term means where the force of gravity is defined as thus "The center of gravity (CG) of an object is the point at which weight is evenly dispersed and all sides are in balance. A human's center of gravity can change as he takes on different positions, but in many other objects, it's a fixed location." In other terms it means a point on an object where torque around that point is zero. Therefore it is nearly impossible that any given end of a blade has it's CG near one end. Other than these details this was a very interesting video.
Why always make it so dramatic with useless music and sound effects?! Just let me watch it, this is real life, not Hollywood. Makes it very unplesant to watch, even as a guy from that certain German region
Green Energy, haha, giant ships spewing smoke, mills spewing smoke making the generators etc etc etc, and not to mention, there had to be another ship for the missing 6 blades.
To say nothing of the fact that they don't last long, cost waaaaay more over time in maintenance and replacement than conventional power sources, don't generate anywhere near as much power per dollar/euro compared to conventional energy sources, and are totally dependent on the same driving force (wind) that can destroy them. No wind? No power? Wind not strong enough? Not enough power.
@@MrSatyre1 Exactly, not to mention the environmental impact to birds and the sonic impact on other animals as well as humans. Like all green energy, it is great and has a place, it just needs more development and not to be shoved down our throats. If all the money that has been spent on subsidies to build wind and solar had been put into researching and improving green energy, we would be decades ahead!!!!
Containers and ropes seems a bit "ad hoc". Better design supports for the blades in one piece. Let you just slide in and lock up the wings like a holder of samurai swords. Since this is like a industrial process,.

I salute to those people in preparation and loading heavy cargo.. engineers crew crane operator and ship bridge operator.
Amazing thinking and lots of math/physics involved.
The shipping rate must be astronomical.
I m sure the shipping wasnt too bad. After all they selected 37 day shipping and not overnight 😂😄😅
