When a Japanese character gets beat by their own martial art, that punch feels wrong and they even say OSU! at the end :D lol (She uses a lot of techniques from Shotokan Karate :D, but most karate is same same in the end, from an attack pov except for kyokushin - which has korean influence)
I don't think is everything armor, some of her moves has effects similar to Shaheen charged moves, I believe it's guard break or armor break effects, which is new, she might be specialist in breaking armor.
armoring @.@ looks like they're using a familiar high poly head. She has a tiger king like move. To me Lydia is awesome coz she's using a real martial art. I would like to see Silat next.
Lidia's rage art could be better of course, the colors and stances are cool tho. Her fighting style is neat. Soul Calibur 6 had amazing specials movements, some characters even had two. So I'm sure Tekken 8 dev team can do better.
Lidia may be great but I'm still sticking to my two mains Reina and King...because of how complicated I find this game is. Great content though and I find that I like Lidia's style and appearance more than Eddy...who I was not looking forward to multiplying when he had his moment in the sun.

I used to train when I was a kid for about 7 years. I know Poland has a lot of successes at the highest level in European and world wide tournaments for the last 30, we had a lot of high dan teachers etc. So maybe not national sport, but possibly national martial art xD

If the question is "why is Lidia in Tekken?" - it was answered by Harada in his interview for Polygamia website (the interview is in Polish but auto-translator will probably do a decent job translating to other languages). If you mean something like "why does Lidia have so strong national themes" - I think it was the concept for the character to show her in the stereotype of somebody who is extremely proud of her country and its heritage and history (her surname alludes to king John III Sobieski) and who respects her country's tradition (while at the same time not being closed-minded - she uses a Japanese martial art after all). This theme of "be proud of your nation" (in a good way) is stressed in Polish upbringing (though not sure if more than in other countries, but I found it's part of stereotypical characterization of Polish people). Also, she's a politician so makes sense for her to be more attached to her country and its symbols than other characters in Tekken.
The fact that, a lot of her strings and sequences are actually real Shotokan Karate combinations is sooooooo well thought, I feel morally obligated to play her for my karate background

Since we have Reina and Lidia, a stance architype character. Lidia was the test market and there were a lot of good reception to her gameplay, now Reina also had good reception, I'm sure we'll be seeing more of these type of characters in the future games.
Asuka's Rage is pretty cool. I like that she hurls you in to the ground and there's the replay and the BOOM for effect. It's unique, because I can't think of anyone else with a Rage like that.

3 things I think are interesting: 1. It looks like her Cat Foot Stance I has been replaced with this new stance where she squats with her fists forward. 2. This is the first trailer that didn't feature a Heat Engager landing. Some of her moves are Heat Engagers, but we've only seen the Heat Burst and Heat Smash. 3. Heaven & Earth stance looks oppressive. Looks like it auto-parries, has armor, and you can also do her old blue spark. A little worried she might come out as a pay-to-win DLC character, which is why they don't have a hard release date, but even so, I am LOVING it!
In virtua fighter 4 i believe which came out in early-mid 2000s on the ps2, there was a beach stage and a snow stage, both with full sand snow physics. It didnt look as pretty but it was done very realistically. They absolutely could have done this.
It's cool to have a realistic karate style represented since mishima's use magic karate and also lore-wise it makes sense for Lydia to be in a game where the premise is that Kazuya will nuke countries unless they win the tournament.
tekken 7 had to much same face syndrome. if you changed the hair and put t and jeans it be hard to know who girl is on the screen. they did much better job having their faces stand out in T8.
the stances Lidia does are actually blocks/parries in Karate (in Taekwondo, which is based in Karate, we have similar blocks, so i can relate), and apparently Bandai managed to recreate the parries in-game as well, like Heihachi's Raijin stance. Also, Reina's Taido fighting style is another martial arte based on Karate, so they share some moves, like Jin (Karate Kyokushin). about Kazuya and Heihachi, they are particular cases but they probably share moves as well.
I got very late into T7 because i never had a character i clicked with until Lidia released my favorite Tekken character. But of course her being the last DLC if she wasnt gonna make it into the base roster i was doubtfull she was gonna be DLC anytime soon so seeing her this early makes me very happy and even more excited to get good at T8 cant wait to play her my girl is back!

If any of those last two characters are Fahkuram, I won’t be buying anymore of the season passes and will just buy characters as they release because I’m already slightly jaded from buying the more expensive edition of the game for it to come with a season pass containing almost only the most recent Tekken 7 dlc characters that arguably should have been in the base roster and the story but somehow end up recycled as season 1 dlc so it just feels like the more expensive purchase was for the complete base roster. I definitely agree on the lack of sand deformation. Even fighting games back on PS2 had some sand and snow deformation.

You have in neutral, B4,4,4, which is a high, into low hellsweep into guranteed damage, and if youre in cat stance(both of them work), you can just B4,4, and skip the high, making it a stanced hellsweep still, this exists in this game...RIGHT NOW. its not downback 3, its Back 3, downback 3 i jsut a hatched, the roll can be triggered by either using up 3+4 or just ub 3+4 after any kick

If any of those last two characters are Fahkuram, I won’t be buying anymore of the season passes and will just buy characters as they release because I’m already slightly jaded from buying the more expensive edition of the game for it to come with a season pass containing almost only the most recent Tekken 7 dlc characters that arguably should have been in the base roster and the story but somehow end up recycled as season 1 dlc so it just feels like the more expensive purchase was for the complete base roster. It’s just hard to imagine it nothing being either Marduk, AK, or Fahkuram based on the color of the box. Would be surprised with Bruce or Ganryu.
