Eric, you are the only other person i have seen that has made solar and ebike truly work with out the need to plug in other than myself. My eBike is a full mountain Haibike, assist only. My ebike does not allow charging and use the bike at the same time. I charge one battery while the bike is using the other. I swap batteries. I am able to charge one battery much faster than I consume the other. My battery is inside the bike tube, I was able to tap that power and mount USB ability up on my handle bars. I am able to power my phone, lights, boom box from the battery in the bike. My setup is close to yours, same trailer, mostly the same electronics you listed. I use the 200w allpower solar panel, actually, I got that recommendation from your video. I use aluminum for the frame, I 3d printed the parts to assemble the frame, and 3d printed parts that mount everything to the trailer, super light. My panel is mounted above the trailer and uses a remote control actuator that seeks the sun, I get more power from the panel that way throughout the day. It also gives me full access to the inside of the trailer at all times. I also installed multiple USB charging ability so the trailer can charge all my devices at night while camping. At night, the battery in the trailer provides power during camping. On your video, I saw how you installed a strip light, I thought that would be a great idea for lighting up the camp site between the tent and the trailer on those really dark nights. I installed the strip light, works nicely. I just completed 1200 miles with this configuration with out ever plugging in and with out every running out of power. It's a nice design and I have proven that as long as there is sun, this always works.
I've hiked that section of the AZ Trail. Never thought about doiing it on an bike. I enjoy watching your videos. I live in Peoria, just north of you, so I know most of the areas where you create these videos. Maybe I'll see you on the trail one day.
Come to MI. White pine Fred Meier trail. We can go 76 miles of every type of canvas on it , stay at a cheap inn with a restaurant next door that does 26oz ribeyes. Bike back the next morning. Just did it, can’t wait to go again. Plenty of green break opportunities and it’s legal here. Keep it in mind
I’ve been binge watching your videos, keep them coming. Most of your videos are on trails I’ve been on but I don’t bike, I use a sxs. Maybe I’ll see you on a trail some day.
I love your bike setup. I get the work situation. I just started Social Security this month. I’m going to start slowing down on the amount of work I’ll be doing next year. Perhaps I’m on the opposite side of your situation that I need to physically start to slowdown, that way I can spend more time camping and touring. And yes, visits from aunt tooty can be a pain …..😘😉✌️🇺🇸
Looking good, I did get my solar trailer built last night on a live stream and got in a test ride live stream today. I plugged your channel in my RUclips Live title as a way to say thanks for the inspiration and ideas. Overall the test was successful other than the clouds did not play in my favor toady. I think I say the Genasun flashing like it was charging maybe 3 times today. I also did not get the inline meter installed, the one they shipped me was bad.
@@AcaciaGum As I said, the good is recreationally legal in Az. If it wasn't for the heat that would get me there. I'm in Wyoming, which will be the 51st state to legalize.
Those mosquito repellents are helping to poison your body as you inhale the fumes. Essential oils are very effective for repelling all biting insects that will plague you. They won't harm you like the spray on ones you buy will. They are like regular store bought repellents though because both of them can dissolve nylon and some plastics. They can ruin the finish on wooden objects.
My mom reacts bad to the Thermacell like repellents. I found that all the sprays and candles do nothing for me. So this is my current weapon. Willing to try just about anything to keep them off me.
Awsome video Eric.. What are your 3 top choices for green breaks? Have you considered installing a dinamo for charging your batteries while coming down the hill?
Yo Eric, I'm preparing for a year on the eboyk. Was formerly PDXevgrin. Probs a different place and venture coming. Living in Portland, OR but heading south for the winter. May head yer way. Hit me up to ride eh? Video games are awesome. No shot against the dying Epic Games.
Helmet tip, it works best when position right above your brow, and not high up on the forehead. Plus switch them out every 6 years, and the Styrofoam dries out. Federal Government has deemed class one as acceptable. Ride responsibly though and no one will care. You think of adding a back rack to that marlin 7 so you don't have to carry a backpack, and have some extra storage? I suck with a cable splicer, i'm gonna use that bic trick from now on!!
Im camped right there too - Nice bike setup - Im riding sur ron 3k fun miles all solar powered - Cutters Natural white bottle works good for No See um and others - $pendy
I used a high voltage usb port until it failed then bought a 12 volt inverter and dual 3.0 port for the same price as a high voltage usb port plus I have 12 power supply for my drone charger and the 100's of 12 volt devices available everywhere
I enjoy your short journies. Life is good when we ride and explore our great Earth.
So true!

A very great video makes me smile 🇬🇧🍻☀️
You have a good setup. I like the idea of solar on an e- bike for long, remote trips. Thanks for sharing your adventures.

Windy nation actuators on eBay work great! Oh, I take green breaks every time you do! 😂😂
Is an "After dinner green break" what I think it is?
You rule dude.
Dude it's legal in Arizona. And we all know how it helps us pedal, maybe not improve the balance butt we can pedal like crazy.
@@jeffholverson8294 It’s legal here too. I figured he was just getting past the censors. I dig it. I love the content

Hell yea always looking for someone to ride with.
Install the 200W an inch or two higher than that one and it will fit.
great video, are you aware of Steve Wallis from camping with steve? You might be the desert Steve.
he used the hunker down phrase so I would assume so!!
when I was young the bugs never touched me, now I'm tasty to them for some reason.

Why aren't you at RAGBRAI this week?
My poor car wont go over 60 mph right now. RAGBRAI is 100% on my list.
Get a doctor's recommendation for a mobility device and you can ride almost anywhere including inside buildings
Pretty sure those were flying monkeys you heard in the night. I
My mic has picked up odd voices I can't explain. At the end of the coyotes there some odd stuff going on.
