  • When I wrote "Love, Hope, Lyme: What Family Members, Partners and Friends Who Love a Chronic Lyme Survive Need to Know," I was surprised to learn that many relationships were at risk due to the challenges tick-borne illnesses caused.
I launched the Love, Hope, Lyme Podcast to identify and eliminate some of the obstacles chronic illness puts in the way of healthy relationships, particularly those with family members, partners, and friends.
The healing process is challenging to say the least.
The latest episode features Gregg Kirk, the author of "The Gratitude Curve." Gregg is featured in the book "Love, Hope, Lyme" in a special chapter on the 6 stages of healing.
The six stages Gregg discovered were loosely based on Elizabeth Kubler-Ross’ grief healing steps. They are Discovery, Disillusionment, Treatment, Anger and Panic, Acceptance, and Gratitude, the final step of which ultimately inspired his book.

    New subscriber here!
Ha ha! I wanted to make a T-shirt that said, I’m ticked (off) that I have Lyme.
Every illness I’ve had (21 years and counting) I’ve taken in as an advocate, and I’d love to be an advocate for (or against) Lyme!
I love your perspective! I stopped calling things “my”.. . , I want to laugh more, I started listening to music I used to love, I started working on my vagal tone, but I’m at the point where I don’t want to live with a constant flu and horrific pain (but a lot of the pain is due to autoimmune diseases and childhood illnesses that made me susceptible to these toxin based problems that have I’ve experienced.).
I want to enjoy life, but I’m alone and 69 years old. I still do, but not like I used to.
May I ask how long it took you to get well?

After being on antibiotics for 6 years it took me several years to get better. But once I got on herbals like the Cowden protocol, combined with a clean diet and energy healing, it took me about a year and a half to reach remission.

Are you available as a Lyme health coach to those in Canada?

I’m just starting to watch this and I’m ready to call it quits! Does this guy do health coaching? My doctor just checks numbers, which is helpful, but there’s a long list of other things that go along with Lyme, especially the cognitive component and lack of motivation to do anything like taxes or paperwork.
