Mariella Devia is the best soprano I have ever heard. So impressive!
Ewa Podles is a miracle... Bb2 - Bb5, later in music lesson scene C#6 - C#3! And she's not just a magnificent singer, but also an amazing actress! I can't believe she sang this role until the age of 65 (2017).
Her vocal range is unbelievably wide！ It is said that she once hit E6 ,and other time G2. 😲

I’m singing Il Faut Partir this semester for college but in Italian (Convien Partir)
The singing in this staging is perhaps not as good as in other stagings I have seen. BUT this'traditional' production was, taken overall, brilliant. In particular Devia as Marie had just the right balance between pathos and comedy, while Podles was the best Marquise I have ever seen.

It's great to see _traditional_ productions. The costumes and colors are striking & hearing Podles, equally-so ! What an incredible voice. Her days of a more lyrical voice are long-gone ... but the replacement is almost super-natural !
If you listen closely at 1:26.23 you can hear a tenor backstage sing the high note.

Not really. Ewa is great as always but all three protagonists make an excellent ensemble. Just watch the music lesson 1:18:14
