This is why I feel the echo 355 with a muffler mod, or even a bolt on ore-modded muffler, is such a great deal for a top handle. My buddy runs an echo 330t and it's a great saw. Not quite an echo 355t but it'd be far better than any comparable priced top handle out there.
I used the Echo top handles in the past and they were good units, The Stihl is also good, it does have more power and built a bit better in my honest opinion, I am not biased. I never tried the Husky top handle but I do have several 372xp saws and I like them.
Good work. This is so interesting. Regardless of minute differences dictated by design differences, the fact it's the same setup on the same dyno gives a reliable consistent measurement.

Would love to see a ported top handle comparison. Especially if you could include a 2511T. The dyno comparisons are amazing and you really show a good factual approach to the testing.
It would be amazing if you also did a dyno run on the 540i xp. It would be soo cool to see the graph of it , to see the rpm and power band!!! Or any electric saw so we could see what happens.
My company runs small Stihls and big Husky's. The t540xp can be a pain to start up in the tree at times. I've actually thrown one out of a tree because of it.

I agree. The last few saws I have had dropped off were from tree guys, and already muffler modded. I will get 100% stock versions eventually. These were all simple diy type mods.

@@jaredeberly9724 I have 3 that I ported they will out cut my 540s. Can't do whole lot with compression. But little goes long way. And lots of room for improvement on transfers and exhaust port. Just don't raise the exhaust at all. I widened and reshaped the intake and rased the bottom few numbers. Its mind blowing stout. I port matched the exhaust to muffler.Closed of the tube. I use cut off deep well sockets on my custom exhaust so I can change the diameter and found 11 mm is the ticket! Cut whole in plastic have exhaust come out under the bar.

Could you maybe use the same colour for hp and torque for each saw? The plotted lines wouldn’t overlap and you could make quicker comparisons without trying to compare with the key the quite similar colours. As you would need half the colours the colours could also be more obviously different. Just a thought loving you videos
How do you think the cs-620p would run against an ms-361 I watched hotsaws video of it against the 362 and it smoked it. But that’s strato vs non strato I think the 361 would do better because it’s non strato. What’s your thoughts?
Is this really fair. the echo has a cat in the muffler which will restricts flow yes you opened the deflector but still, do the other two have cats being muffler modded and being auto tune? amazing how every ones says the echo is heavier, obviously is not on your scales, but yeah very little between them, i know when i decatted and piped my 355/360t.. turned into a different saw only downside is the filler holes are little small but it is an oldish saw now. still very cool👍
Probably not 100% fair. But all were simple 10 minute muffler mods. The husky was probably a 30 second mod. These were all just simple deflector/outlet mods.
When do we get a video of some of your die repair welding? I wanna see some rebar being fed out of a drum into a 1000amp molten puddle. 😉 Also, good comparo. Will be fun to see the big gainz.
I kind of know how it's going to go with 572xp and 462cm comparison 572xp has more grunt down low other then that they real close I have a heavy muffler mod on both does real nice getting heat out an power gains can't wait to see the results

Also the discolored plastic around the clutch, I'd like to see another test with a fresher one. The reason I bought mine a long time ago was it beat the 201 stihl hands down before stihl was m tronic.
It'd be nice to see the weights in kg for those of us who use metric. Imperial was phased out here before I was born and that's more than a few weeks ago ;)

Yer made the mistake of buyim 540 from dealer, it was a shitter couldnt fix the mtronic thing. Heard was not great on new 540 mk1. Mine was a shitter sold it to the boss cuts small stumps now. N still revs up n down. Sorry negative but other huskys had been great 357. Yer good.

This is great information, I run a 201 myself. My decision was based on the factory specs of horsepower to weight ratio and I ended up with that.

Ported 2511 is pretty much where these bigger saws are stock/muffler modded. Just a touch less tq

Have you ever compared fuels on the dyno?
I currently run 100+ octane aviation gas in my saw, mainly to avoid ethanol. Any insight on this?

Most all of the newer synthetic oils work well at 40:1. I just like what I have seen from dominator I'm these saws. So I stick with it.

Makes me wonder how a homelite xl/xl2/super 2 would do on a dyno.

Should be very close. I think the 620 is heavier though.
Ported all out, the 361 may be a touch more power but it should still be close.
My 362 stock blows my brothers stock 361 away. I was 😲, maybe I should give it a closer look when it’s on the bench for maintenance.

I know what you mean, my friends husky 359 has a cat and we bypassed it and it really work up big time. Felt like it had an extra 30% more power.

Wore out a half dozen 200 t's over the last 20 + years, bought two Echo 355's for the price of the 201, jury's still out on this however...

Been using a homelite 150 for years to process my firewood. With the amount of crank walk it has it should not run as good as it does.
What is crank walk?
I went and listened again, the Echo sounded fat the first half of its run. Are they normally like this or did I imagine it?
It was a touch fat at the beginning. These small saws I have to apply the load slow, otherwise it will catch and bog them out.
The 540 was smoking the clutch if it had new shoes I bet it would do better just
That was smoking bar oil. The exposed muffler on the bottom of the 540 was smoking on the rubber pad.

Stock the 2511 dosent hang with these bigger saws in power output.
But ported 2511 is right up close to this power level and a few lb lighter saw
