I’m a machinist. Watching you work is a real treat! You do with a cutting torch what I’d be doing with a bandsaw and a Bridgeport. Keep up the good work!
dude! you are a true artist with metal and fire!! awesome! I'm hoping here sometime in the immediate future I can employee your services for a smoker, I really like your quality of work and attention to detail.
Sure is good to see someone doing awesome fabrication with the bare essentials OUTSIDE. Some of these channels make it seem like a man needs 30 grand worth of tools and a huge shop to put out a good product. You put them to shame with your top notch raw skills and techniques. Nice work!
that's cool , you do everything old school . I was showing my son , he just started welding in high school . they start you out stick welding and gas cutting . I told him everybody should start that way . good video .
Dude, your fit up skills are amazing. In fact, they are so amazing that I am going to show this video to my welding class (community college welding program) the next chance I get! I explain to the students that 'welding' is only a PART of what it takes to be a professional welder/fabricator or pipe welder/fitter. One hint, and this is not a criticism! I have built similar hex shaped fire pits, and I found a local guy who operates a laser cutter out of a small shop. To cut the iron for about three or four of the pits you are building would cost me about $200, and I supply the iron. The fit up is always perfect, as the cuts are computer controlled. This saves me enormous amounts of time and money. Thank you for your great work!
Allen, your projects are really interesting and your designs are practical and well thought out. Really enjoyed watching your program and have learnt a lot from you. Thanks for doing the show. keep it going. Great job!!!
MAN YOU DO BEAUTIFUL WORK I WORK WITH SHEETMETAL FOR OVER THIRTY YEARS AND TOOK BASIC WELDING EARLY IN MY CAREER ,BUT YOUR CREATIVITY IN WELDING IN AMAZING JUST BY THIS VIDEO ALONE I LEARNED A LOT THANKS AND GOD BLESS.
Wow you make me wish that I had a back yard and I would be knocking at your door with money in hand for one of your creations of art. This is a work of art, I would spend most of the time bragging about it and showing it off.
That’s not a fire pit, this is a fire pit. Great looking guy pit. Makes me want to cook a sausage on that bad boy. Keep up the good work, thanks for sharing your ideas.
nice work glad to see a guy that knows how to use a torch if i was working somplace that had a plasma i would use one in a shop enviroment but out in the field welder grinder torch mesuring tapes ect what you had on your truck is the tools ya work with and im sure you would do just a good job out in the field as you do here nice
Well done beautiful build for my taste one of the most badass fire pits I've seen. Just a great design and your craftsmanship is top self love how you hand cut everything to show your talent. May have to reach out and get a few spec and try my hand!!!
hi there mate i love they way you make them up here in tasmania we are starting to get more people asking for fire pits could you tell me more about the size of this fire pit you make and what about cost of this item many thanks abbygail australia
Great work, who needs flash workshops and cnc machines!!. Just sub'd to ya channel, always good to see someone getting on and doing something rather than just talking about it. All the best matey!
new subscriber here. i'll be trying my best to replicate this build with some 12ga 5" flat bar, 4x8 sheet of 14ga, and some 1 inch sq tube. mine wont come out nearly as good as this though, even with plasma cuts and a metric shit ton of grinding. this is a seriously good design, with or without the grill top. very impressive.
you and I got a lot in common. I do a lot of welding also, in fact I run a my own welding business. I also own a sawmill, cut lots of cedar, build fences, sundecks, and so on. I subscribed to your channel so looking forward to seeing more stuff.
Great video, one of many!! You need a plasma cutter, you could save enough in ox, act to pay for plasma rig. I only use my torch now for the rose bud. I'm not complaining about you touch work, your bad ass with the touch. Just saying a plasma cutter would save you money and open up more option whip up templets for reparative work. Keep up the good work!!
guys asking about shipping should look into freight shipping. if the builder will drop it off at a near by town then freight is usually only about 70 bucks.
Great design on the pit, if I may just throw an idea your way on the raising and lowering, how do you think one of those old time BUMPER JACKS would work in this design or would it be not worth it? Thanks for sharing!
Great video! I love that design and I don't care what anyone says.... it'll last much longer than any weber kettle you'll buy at war mart! Interested in watching more of your videos... you're a talented practical welder, keep up the good work! I'll bet you'd love to have a nice shop with a shear and brake, maybe a couple of water jet cutters or a laser cutter! I worked in a fab shop and an oilfield welding shop running a pattern torch for a while... if I only had the money to buy the equipment!! lol...
I would highly recommend a plasma-cam cutting table for speeding up the process. The aren't that expensive and would save a ton of time in clean up. Plasma AutoCad software comes with it and you can lay out and cut virtually anything from grill grates to signs etc.... It would pay for it'sself in a year or less based on your orders!
Wow Allen! Dude that's the most Fly Firepit/Grill I've ever seen! Just found your Channel. Liked & Subbed! Looking forward to seeing all your videos! Have A Super Week!.....Gus
I would have used some different materials in some places to change the aesthetics a little but it turned out really nice and you have some MAD torch skills my friend... Nice work!!
nice work yall could fit a pig on that un. you might consider using a wax coating. it's non toxic and will prevent flash rust. a coat of high temp rattle can paint on outside would help too. love the swing away grill just be wary of tipping over
Allen. Great work. Have you any drawings I could buy. I live in Thailand so its a bit too far to ship the whole unit. i can get my local guy to knock one up. John
beautiful grill! love the heavyness and the durability that comes with it! congratuations from Switzerland! Only thing I would change is making the pothook independantly swinging, to hang the pot directly in the fire. But that's just a small detail. It's "mocking on a high level" as we say here, don't take it too serious:)
I'm new to your channel. What I can say is that you do very great work. Love all of the videos I've seen so far. Keep it up bro, you're a great person at your work, very skilled at it also. 👍
I’m a machinist. Watching you work is a real treat! You do with a cutting torch what I’d be doing with a bandsaw and a Bridgeport. Keep up the good work!

I see this is before you got your plasma cutter. Awesome work. A lot of people can't work a torch like that.
Awesome build! You wield that torch like a surgeon. Thank you for sharing!
that's cool , you do everything old school . I was showing my son , he just started welding in high school . they start you out stick welding and gas cutting . I told him everybody should start that way . good video .
Really great design and perfect execution. Awesome creativity you have.

Allen, I must say you're a very humble man.. You do terrific work and I'll keep watching your videos. How can we get a touch for ordering.?
hi there mate i love they way you make them up here in tasmania we are starting to get more people asking for fire pits could you tell me more about the size of this fire pit you make and what about cost of this item many thanks abbygail australia

yea I would love to have a break and shear, would make a lot things easier..I just try to figure ways to get by without certain things tho
Brake and shear would merely speed up production, which from the sounds of it, you need!! Good work!
