The Children's Song (THE LAST VALLEY) John Barry

I had a lot of trouble uploading this video. I kept getting audio but no video so I had to delete and re-upload, delete and re-upload until I finally got audio and video. I do not understand why the video starts fading out at the end. Take it or leave it. At this point I do not care.

. . . Listened to this ' Evening Song ' for the first time in well over 3 and a half - perhaps four decades or more on this late evening of 10th June 2021 . My elder brother , Wolfram or ' Wolf ' was a real film follower from his late teens in ' 67 or ' 68 onwards . Then you could regularly go to see two worth- watching films per week - almost every week . Soundtracks then followed in the weeks after . I was about 10 when this one arrived and I was
particularly ' taken ' by this track . Our ' Liebe Mutti ' ( beloved mother) was from Germany , so just perhaps it was some far-away distant timbre of my maternal
' heimat ' which does not readily translate in to English ; more than ' homesickness' , more of a known misplacement - at all times , no matter ' what ' you choose to look away from .
John Barry had that ' something unknown ' in the best of his writings ; indeed one of my favourite albums of his is titled ... ' The Beyondness of Things ' ..
