I decided to whip up an arrangement of Ray Charles' "I Got a Woman" since it's steady, boogie rhythm goes perfectly with that driving Hill Country Blues beat, and to top it all off, I threw in some kick drum on the Wild Dog Stomp.

@@txdean1166 But one guitar tab sheet music, or search for something free online. "tabs" are written on six lines, each line represents each string of your guitar. The numbers on the lines are the frets you hold down. After awhile you get a feel for what chord is in that measure. The musical notes are usually in lines right above the tab line. It's easy to read. Try it once, and you'll start looking for tabs to read.
Dude does the bass line, rhythm, harmony, and percussion by himself. I can't even focus on all 4 of those at the same time. This dude is phenomenal!
Phenomenal yes. Every song of his that I listen to is my favorite - until his next song.
Welcome to the club gentlemen
Chet Atkins & many other O.G.s pioneered it. Listen to Doyle Dykes,"Jazz In the Box"! This kid is very good!!!
Just a man, a guitar, a beer, mother nature, and immeasurable talent.
It don't get much better than that .
translate into hai shi do do (giddy up) and when the volcano blows
The way you get that sway and get to grinnin’ reminds me a lot of Jerry Reed. You can tell you’re truly having fun
You know that brotha
He is the one who knows
He'll yeah you got that right brotha
Well... I got a woman, way over town
She's good to me, oh yeah
Said I got a woman, way over town
She's good to me, oh yeah
She gives me money when I'm in need
Yeah, she's a kind of friend indeed
I got a woman, way over town
She's good to me, oh yeah
She saves her loving, early in the morning
Just for me, oh yeah
She saves her loving, early in the morning
Just for me, oh yeah
She saves her loving, just for me
Always loves me, so tenderly
I got a woman, way over town
She's good to me, oh yeah
She's there to love me
Both day and night
Never grumbles or fusses
Always treats me right
Never running in the streets
Leaving me alone
She knows a woman's place
Is right there, now, in the home
I got a woman, way over town
She's good to me, oh yeah
Said I got a woman, way over town
She's good to me, oh yeah
Well, she's my baby, don't you understand
Yeah, I'm her loving man, now
I got a woman, way over town
She's good to me, oh yeah
Well, don't you know she's all right
Well, don't you know she's all right
She's all right, she's all right
Awww baby boy…..you bring me grins and rythym this ‘morn…..this old mama needs..thank you !…. ❤
I first saw videos of you playing the shovel guitar, and wondered what you could do with six strings. Now that I know I wonder why it took that long to hear about you. All of the superlatives aside I enjoy your videos because they feel fun. Thank you.
Should check out his 12 string videos!
@Alexis Kyle damn that’s cute of u! Ur husband must be proud
@Alexis Kyle That is so cool!
@Alexis Kyle
I am delighted, you are smart, and just an ideal wife. Be also frequent further.
@Alexis Kyle To this I can only answer one thing - be happy. And don't be confused by the simplicity of these words. With all my heart, I wish you happiness and deep understanding and spiritual unity. You will overcome everything and find new strengthening in your relationship. It is no coincidence that marriage is equated with blood relationship, efforts will only strengthen trust between you.
Be happy together.
I don't get tired of listening to Justin play whatever he plays, it's been a long time since I enjoyed listening to an artist so much, pure magic.
I'm 70 years old and YOU are my hero! gosh
Never thought I would hear this on guitar
listen to John Mayer's version on his live album TRY! It is absolutely amazing
@@pascalvhv8070 this 100%!! that man is an excellent bluesman as well as a pop icon, a very versatile person!
@@pascalvhv8070 thank you so much for this.
I like Blues, Sothern Rock, Rock, Hard Rock, and classic Metal, and Justin Johnson

Привет из Москвы! Здорово сыграл! 👍👏
in the background, Elvis Blue Christmas, perfect.
LOVE IT! One of my dad's favorites. He'll appreciate this! He's bedfast; this will lift his spirit. I showed him your pickin' on "What'd I Say" with the 3-string cigar box and he loved it; another favorite of Ray Charles. Thanks for doing this one.
Had the wife in the other room saying "have you got that loud enough?", ( 1/2 volume). I replied if it's too loud, you're too old! Loved it! Great stuff there!
Now be kind to your wife. 🤫
If you can hear her it’s not loud enough!
@@Trance4mations dang, I know you get this right my volumne has lowered on this computer.....
I sure would like to go fishing in that Lake, while listening to Justin perform live
I was thinking the same thing!!
Ya’ll fish whilst I swim that
Love the sound. Just the right amount of reverb, touch of blues, sprinkle of rockabilly, click a clack.......with the beautiful tn river in the background! Down home! (Guessing it is the tn)
Every guitarist should strive for rhythm and time like this.
Excellent choice for today, including the background. Just finished shoveling snow. We received almost 8 inches overnight and most of today. Great sound and great views! God bless.
That sound makes the whole song float across your mind like the day is coming home right inside your head.
Justin Johnson is the Coolest Cat in Town... he is in his own Category
@Neils Christensen and definitely, a fav dudester...I tune in quite a lot especially around the Holidays...
Geez. So glad i came across this musician few years ago. Talented and dedicated is understatement. First video i saw you playin a dam shovel in a park. Now your playin with a killer back drop. You are by far in Your own lane. Well done......again.
Even the water behind you was jamming with your fab version of this beautiful oldie but goodie!👍👍🍻
I love his guitar skill but isn’t this comment too much?
I went back and looked - you're absolutely right, the water was jammin!
I bet the wildlife were tapping their toes or fins too! Very nice Justin!
Wow I so enjoyed. I was rocking with you. You make it look so easy & my dream is me being 1/4 of what you are. Thank you
1:30 at this moment i was listening this song out loud while smoking and all the people around me looked like they think "wow this man is bloody handsome" thank you for this cover)
My favorite guitar players that are still alive(in no particular order):
1 Tony Iommi
2 John Frusciante
3 David Gilmour
4 Dave Mustaine
5 Justin Johnson
People: Who is Justin Johnson?
Me: 😀 I have something to show you.
Reasons to love Justin Johnson (in no particular order):
1 He plays guitar as if his fingers are possessed by some bayou deity.
2 The dude is smoother than a bottle of W.L. Weller 12 year old bourbon and he's cooler than Fonzi.
3 He can play songs on a shovel better than most people can with a normal guitar.
4 He has a guitar loft and you can't get cooler than that.
5. He teams up with amazing guitar makers and gives away some beautiful guitars that sound fantastic.
Thanks Justin. As a guitar player myself, I want to say your blues always makes me feel better when I'm down. I got a woman and I hope she is hearing this while I'm making dinner out here in the kitchen. She has the blues too. Music is the best medicine.
YESSSS
I would loved to have heard Ray Charles sing along with Justin’s guitar playing on this song! He’s an incredible player and smooth as melted butter!
I’m way to old to start learning to play the guitar but I’m not too old to enjoy sitting on that deck, admiring the view and loving the music. Thank you Justin!
Unless you're currently AT death's door, you're never too old to learn the guitar.
It's more f.cking addictive to watch your videos than Facebook ever was.... Cheers to you fellow picker.....
Impeccable timing!!!! I think the tiny waves in the background are floating at the same tempo
My God You could have kept a medley going on for the whole day if you wanted to,with this cool rythm!Songs from Ray Charles and other artists, What'd I say,That's Alright Mama or My Baby Left me, Hound Dog,Whole lotta shakin' going on etc.....I wonder what a rendition of "Guitar Man" the version from Elvis would sound like by You!!!!
Excellent Justin! I'm enthralled by that picking style of yours!
Waitress: "Would you like a to-go box for your leftovers?"
Justin: *Whips out to-go box guitar* "No thanks, brought my own."

One of my Father's favorite tunes. I grew up with so much good Blues music thanks to my Poppy. Rest well, Pop...I know you hate waiting, but you'd better wait for me. GREAT VIDEO! Brilliant talent.
Toes tappin, hands beat’n, head movin, soul diggin, heart lovin, ......

Really good...a real pleasure to listen to, nothing more to say
Every time you post I just get more and more amazed
Such fabulous playing in a gorgeous sun-filled setting! Man - playing some really tasty licks. Ray would be proud. Great stuff! Thanks for sharing your talents. (Love the stomp box too).

I love that you always include the tuning and gear in the description. Good video!
4:35 is just TOO smooth
Justin never fails at putting a smile on my face!
and I have a mask on as I just rock on with my fav...
@@luluwinke6581 take the mask off, you don't need it. It will only impair your natural breathing and oxygen your brain and body needs.
@@HalfWarrior well so, I am figuring all of that out as I type....my ears are doing well.
Beautiful backdrop to one of my favorite tunes. Thanks Justin. Great interpretation, as always. God Bless!
God dam, you make it look sooo easy😅🙌✨what a brilliant tune✊🎼🙌
You make me feel dang good Justin.
The Blues is like a hug from an ol' friend, when your down.
And for that I thank you!
Very nice rhythmic version of that classic tune JJ! Really made my day, thank you....👍👍🎸🎸😉😉
I love the way your guitar sings.
yesh, the way he sings/plays those strings
Justin, you just keep getting better and better.
Slick playing, groovy and in the pocket! The wild dog stomp pedal sounds deep!!!
OMG! Your read my mind! I was just thinking about "I Got a Woman" and how awesome it would be, if you did it! How cool is that?!!! Right on!
Only thing that could have made it any better would be Ray singing along. Thanks for this, you’re the best
Smooth blues. Love it man.
All songs sound new, fresh and fun with Justin at the guitar. Best music find of 2022 for me.
Since I've been spending time with Justin's fingerpicking DVD lessons and his Hill Country Blues DVD lesson, when I see these new video's it's like a much higher level of enjoyment. I just enjoy watching Justin play and then playing at my own skill level. His DVD's on how to play this kind of music are just the best.
P.S. ... that note, that string bend, at 4:37 of this video is my new favorite note...
Awesome as always
♥️♥️♥️♥️
U r so AMAZING love everything u play
Thank you for posting on my birthday, Justin! How did you know? LOL....Beautiful rendition! I LOVE the backdrop of the lake! So incredibly cool...Would LOVE to be sitting just off camera ABSORBING these incredible Blues! Magic Man!
