Could you please do one (or just give advice in the reply to this comment) about the same task for FCP?
I am particularly curious if it's best to:
a) film 4k and then cut out the 1080×1920 portion, or
b) buy a "vertical tripod" and film 4k vertical straight away.
(Gear: Sony FX3, Sigma 35mm f/1.4 DG DN Art Lens)
Also, does shorts allow to upload vertical 4k?
Can one even edit that in FCP?
(rationale being same as in your video: max out the output quality, as I don't want my shorts to look like 2015 smartphone vids)

hey matt, great stuff as always. do you have a reason for not doing H.265 instead of H.264? im using H.265 for my shorts and im getting no complaints from youtube or viewers

Hey Matt thanks for the share. I came to find that under "Encoding Settings" if you set the "Level" to "4.2" and "HDR Graphics" to "203" the video quality is much more crisp and it retains all of the original file detail and with your settings it takes away a bit of quality. Its not a lot but that was my observation. Thought I'd share, not sure if my settings will look different after the compression but anyway guess will find out.
Hello Matt, you are doing awesome. I have one doubt. I have 4K video can i set sequence in 1080 to edit and preview after that is possible to render in 4k, If can it still preserve the 4K quality.

Hi Matt, I tried all these instructions in my Adobe Premiere Pro 2019 but youtube still considered my video in SD only. However I have recorded all videos of shorts on 4K in iphone 11. Please suggest alternative.

why are there recommendations for ig with 15 vbr 1 pass or even lower?
ig is also compressing but i thought the trick is to compress it by yourself ?
with cbr 40 it’s quite the opposite of what everybody else is recommending

RUclips's compression is VERY different from Instagram's. Hence the higher bitrate. :)
