    I wonder if you do jewelry, can you melt the holographic foil on metal like silver or aluminium to let the surface be coated

      No, that wouldn’t work. The microscopic texture of the surface of the foil is what refracts the light and makes it look iridescent, not the metal foil itself. If you melted it, you’d just end up with a pile of melted plastic, as that is what the foil is layered on top of.

      I’ve been trying to come up with an idea on how to add the design to metals myself, and so far here are my ideas:
      1) (Easy but low quality result probably) Similar to how they make chocolate iridescent. You would have to create a “mold” that already has the embossed texture on it. Then you could pour/cast your metal in the mold, and it would come out of the mold looking iridescent since the surface would be transferred to the surface metal
      2) (You gotta be a fucking enginneer but should get high quality result) design a laser to etch an embossed pattern into the metal
