There is NO QUESTION that Sammy Davis, Jr. was the Greatest Entertainer in the World BECAUSE he could do EVERY form of entertainment at the highest level of presentation AND he could also deftly impersonate EVERYONE in entertainment that was considered GREAT which was contemporary! No one that was BEFORE him or that came AFTER him in entertainment is in the conversation of Greatest Entertainer in the World!
I Loved That Show! Flip Wilson Was the Funniest Man Ever Lived! Loved Flip Wilson! And of Course,. Nobody Better than Sammy Davis Jr.! Both Phenomenal Talents!
So often I see the first part of this clip posted where Sammy sings Candy Man. In my opinion, this dance routine is the real classic moment of the episode.
Be in Peace Mr. Davis. U earned it. Now real talk. I don’t know all Black ppl in Harlem. U don’t hear about Sammy to the young ones. Most of the elder generation was really angry with this man . How do I know? I lived in the sixties. When he was living wild. U can go on the internet for more information. Out side of Harlem Hospital there’s a small brass placket that says something about Sammy being born here in Harlem . And all the pure hell he went through. Real Racism. Very real and very ugly.shame on U America. That’s all I have to say. Blessings 🙏 Shameful to treat this great man like so.
