- 'Fields of Gold' as sung by 19 year old Bronwen Lewis on BBC1's, The Voice.
All I can say is WOW! I WANT her album already! Such a beautiful piece and made even more so by being sung in Gaelic/Welsh. One of those Judges should have turned round and they have made a huge mistake by not taking Bronwen on!

Yep they rave about the person they turn for begging them to pick them and the first thing they do is put them up against some one better in the battle round so they can bump them!

She certainly has one of the best voices I've ever heard on this show. The way she controls her voice is incredible, and the clarity of her voice too. A natural born singer.
This was the point I stopped watching this show. 7 years later Im still disgusted that nobody turned around to her beautiful voice. The audience loved her. It’s a shame Tom Jones was already full and couldn’t turn. You could tell by his eyes he wanted to turn around. A great loss. Nothing is more powerful than a song sang in Welsh- such a beautiful language. It would have been refreshing to have a Welsh singer on this show. Im so proud to be raised Welsh. Amy Evans I couldn’t agree more .....she deserved a win and I quit watching the show too. We planned a trip to Wales this June but Covid cancelled that. Congrats Bronwyn, u have an amazing, talented voice and will no doubt succeed in the music world 👍

As a fluent welsh speaker Bronwen went on to record many amazing songs in the welsh language. The voice's loss, Wales' gain.
Respect for preserving the Welsh language. The Irish language is preserved here also.

Being Devonian only speaking English sadly her Fields of gold track was simply beautiful, it had depth, amazing phrasing, and was a haunting track that stopped in the moment , she,s an amazing singer !

Saw her last night performing and she is BRILLIANT. She has 2 albums and I cannot stop playing them, every track, even the Welsh ones I don't understand, are simply beautiful. I can't wait for the next one.
This lady's voice is haunting...it is exactly how this song should be sung. It is difficult to believe that anyone was better than she. A true tragedy!

As she began, the Angles fell silent. When God in His heaven above hears this familiar voice, with a tear of joy in His eye He smiles as he looks down upon His Anabel. "It is good" He said, as He smiled listening to her sing. Such grace, poise and confidence this young woman has. Beautiful.
Acute or obtuse?
Occasionally I come back to hear her audition and I am in disbelief every time that Will nor Jessie turned. Her voice reminds me of Enya and Sarah McLachlan. There is no way I would not have turned.
Her voice is unbelievable. I heard Eva Cassidy sing this and bromwen Lewis is as good or maybe better.

Probably the absolute best version of this song I have ever heard, pure talent beyond compare. 2 seats left??..she should have gotten them both. Judges fell asleep hard on this one, there wasn't a contestant that could hold a candle to this voice.

She did a horrible rendition of Eva Cassidy her version, stop it. She changed the language, didn't show off her tone properly and lacked emotion that Eva Cassidy put into the song.
All these years later and I’m still so furious at the two nameless judges who didn’t turn for this beautiful voice ! The worst mistake ever on any Voice show anywhere !

How can so called professional musicians try to justify not hitting the buzzer after hearing such a beautiful and angelic voice like this one?! It was refreshing, original and finally not so cliche, filled with overly used verbrato and unnecessary high notes. Not every singer needs to belt out their voice to impress an audience. This was such a shame, as I don’t even need to understand Welsh to know that I would gladly buy an album of hers.
When she goes home without a chance, there is absolutely no point in this show

Jessie J should have turned without doubt. No surprise will Iam didn't Bronwen wasn't the right color he's blatant and shameless. Probably one of the best ever voice auditions mesmerising and hauntingly beautiful performance.

I didn't watch The Voice anymore after this. Her voice is pure and angelic.
Why? The judges are only human. We all make mistakes. For you to never watch the show again I find quite disturbing and very stubborn.

she has been recording. ...this song of hers is on Spotify with more of her songs......don't blame the judges or the show.....it's a game. ...she auditioned at the wrong time. ..its happened to many unfortunately. .the judges explained their reasons .....they get exposure and they can come back.....this was the best version I've ever seen. ....talent like that doesn't go unnoticed

Quite simply the best voice I believe I have EVER heard.....and Lord, she is beautiful. I could listen to this for hours and hours....it transports me to a place I cannot describe.

I'd have hit the button before she said a word. That intro vocal was astounding. These judges must not be able to hear. That was unbelievable.
It's a reality show. Could be she was actually not that great, and they just dubbed in an expert singer for the broadcast. Everybody wants to believe that these shows are honest, but really, their ultimate goal is to keep people watching, and a "M'eh. She's alright." singer just wouldn't cut it.
Thats for someone with an once of brain! But at the very least they now looking dumber by minute as she has gone on to better things.

I’ve watched all the talent shows, from all over the world, and without a doubt this is the biggest snub, or non-turn I’ve ever seen. She absolutely would have been a finalist. These judges haven’t got a clue.

I'm sure Tom was hoping someone would turn for her, so he could 'steal' her later in the show. You can see he was gutted. Such a shame she didn't go through.

As much of a shame it is that she was not picked up by one of the only two judges who i guess weren't "full up", i would not want a voice as beautiful as that to be "coached" by friggin Jessie J or will.i.am..... this girl has a voice and skill that neither of them could ever achieve.

She can sing to me 24/7/365, even in Welsh. I am American, though I lived half of my childIhood living in Europe back in the 70's and 80's. My last stint in West Germany I worked in a remote U.S. military resort and we had persons from across the globe (U.S. Scotland, Wales, Ireland, Turkey, England, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, East and West Germany and a couple others I can't remember their countries) The lad from Wales had such a beautiful lilt to his voice, even as a straight man I loved to listen to him speak and even his "Bee Gee's" high pitched sing alongs to Floyd, Zepplin, The who amongst all the great classic rock was delightful.

He alreadt said "I like that" which is already a sign that tom is pursuing on Jessie to turn for Browen. This has been 7 years ago but still such a heartbreaking history in The Voice UK. It was very obvious that Tom like her so much.

This show is just so unfair if you are to late and are competing in the later part of the auditions your chances of going through are so much lower no matter how talented you are, just sucks

The judges get only one chance ,and they blew it, I would pay money to see this talented lady ,stunning ,world class, like Susan Boyle, shame on them..

Absolutely beautiful and in a complete league of her own! What an amazing talent and a total travesty when you consider some of the acts chosen during that series and since.The judges credibility went out of the window when they chose not to select Bronwen. I watch this performance regularly and it moves me every time. I've just listened to Bronwen's own composition 'Suitcase'....go watch it, incredible!.

As Simon has said in many of his shows - This is why we hold these shows, so once in a while we find a diamond, she was that diamond that slipped through the voice sieve! Good luck young lady as you prove those judges wrong!
She's a SINGER... and yes I'm shouting it! This is only the beginning for her, at 19... If she doesn't quit or get discouraged by the ambivalence of these judges, she'll do very well. She'll get her fame yet!

Yes, I know it's been a long time, but after listening to this incredibly talented young woman more times than I can count, I feel the need to add to the often made, and understated comment, that this was a shame. You have here a voice that I have to believe truly reflects the beauty of the person, a voice that slips through the ear and to the heart in the same moment. It leaves the listener a better person somehow. It leaves us wanting to hear more. For now, this glimpse of greatness is all we have. Let's hope there will come a time when someone does recognize what is right in front of them.

The way they all look at each other at the end! Completely clueless!! I think the fact that she sang it in Gaelic/Welsh went against her and the sad thing was it was absolutely the best bit about her performance. What a beautiful version of a great song.
