What a beautiful garden centre!! Thankuou very much for taking us along with you! The conversation between the two of you! You can tell he is very involved in his garden centre and takes pride in it!! Thanks again...this was awesome!!
I've never seen Solenia begonias baskets, they are a show stopper, Absolutely stunning! Thank you for the wonderful tour. Its always a kick for me to see something new & different, other than the same old, box store, repetitive 🪴 plants.
I Loved this tour of their huge green houses. The Clematis plants were Very Lovely ! I was suprised to see the Passion flower vines for sale. Here in Arkansas, that beautiful plant grows wild. Even the tiny one that's named after a Southern State. I'm old and have forgotten it's name.
Wow! I’ve never visited a nursery so devoted to clematis like this. I’m glad that Clematis grows in South Carolina. I have a dark purple one in bloom now that survived being cut down to the ground by the lawn crew. But I have to say some of the loveliest clematis I ever saw was growing at the botanical garden in Akureyri, Iceland.
I want to work in a garden center that's will be my dream job comes true, I admire so much these people to work with plants and flowers they are full of love and peace in their hearts to do this kind of job, plant the seed tacking care of that until the plant is stable. It's a beautiful job. I hope one day I will be working on a garden center I will be the happiest person in the world.
This was great! I was thinking about when we might get this video a couple of days ago, as I was buying yet another one his products! Great video, thanks for giving us all a look at your operations! Also fun to hear a couple of plant guys talking plants.
I just bought a trio of their clematis this year. Unfortunately, Costco packaging isn’t the best and they were almost half-dead but they survived and I’m pampering them. Love that they are a Canadian family-run business! Thanks for this tour!
I'm so glad you enjoyed. It's one of my favorite things about the horticulture industry is that many of (even the largest) businesses have their roots as a small family farm.
Loved this tour of the garden shop as well! Very informative with some great plants, we need their garden shop here in Southern Ontario as well! Thanks Jason 😀
I've in zone 9b, Central California and have tried numerous times with several clematis and have had zero success, both in pots and in ground. I love them so much its heart breaking. They just don't thrive and get eaten up by insects. Never had such a challenge with any other plant. I will however keep trying.
Alstroemeria are awesome, I especially like the taller types and keep a few as container plants, just place in cool storage from November through to the end of winter, great plants!
Thanks. Couldn't agree more. This year I tried them from seed I bought in - so fast and easy! I'm definitely pickup up another variety from seed this coming year.
@@FraserValleyRoseFarm Have had alstroemeria 'Inca Ice' as potted specimen for several years, never has a down moment throughout the entire summer, colors are subtle, but gorgeous! On order is 'Summer Break', which is also one of the taller growing types, the super compact forms are too squat and congested looking for my preference, though the taller ones hard to come by, at least I mean via mail order.
I wish there was a Garden Center here in NY. I love tours like this and don't have a place like this to enjoy near me. I can't even find mulch or compost in bulk. I have to buy bags at the box stores and it gets very expensive that way.
I didn't know about CLEMATIS! they are perfect for growing up the giant privets on my property line. I got rid of the horrible English ivy that was choking the privets out, But now they need a different kind of clumber friend, who will twine up into them in a companionable sort of way like Clematis will. And the birds also would like to have something growing up the privets, now that the heavy and damaging English ivy is gone.
And also, here in California we often find plants grown in Canada, and now I have an idea about the kinds of businesses and the kinds of people who are growing these beautiful plants for our enjoyment!
Thanks Ruth. It is quite nice! I don't think it's likely that someone from Clearview is going through these comments to answer about the products though.
I have a question about my Clematis its been years not flowering. Is their any suggestion or fertilizer that I can put so that it start flowering again?..
Like roses, clematis are not picky about the fertilizer type. Something relatively balanced (like 10-10-10 or 14-14-14) is a good base, and then you can bump up the P with some bone meal.
OK I commented too early - those geraniums - I LOVE geraniums but it is hard to get a lot of the different varieties here. They strike for cuttings so easily, I'm guilty of taking lots of bits and pieces from everyone's garden :)
I gave up on Clematis. Planted 4 varieties last year suitable for Ottawa. Only one survived and all others are dead this year. They bloomed nice last year and I provided every thing they need; moist soil , planted smaller Hosta and astilbe at the base, rich soil .. name it. Very disappointed
Although the odd variety will do well in low light, in general Clematis need lots of light and don't like to run too wet. If hosta and astilbe are thriving it might be a bit too dark for your clematis. Often the most conscientious gardeners struggle with clematis simply because they run too wet.
I am in coastal New England and am having good luck with clematis in sometimes difficult conditions. I heard early on that they like their head in the sun but feet in the shade. When I can’t give them real shade, I’ve placed a large stone on the sunny side, and it seems to keep the roots cool enough. I agree that they do not need or want to be wet. Good luck!
@@FraserValleyRoseFarm but you do sell other things? Like plants, possibly fertilizer, soil? I’m out in Langley, but would love to check out various other sellers, kinda boring looking at the same stores and same items. Haha
It's not obvious in what state this place is located. City, yes, but not the state. I'm sure it's somewhere, yet I suggest you might want to mention the state upfront with the city name in the future.
Thanks for the feedback Linda. It's only quite a narrow (but visible!) portion of my audience who are local to the Fraser Valley, so I added the location notes for them. I didn't clue in to add the regional details for viewers outside of my area (southwest BC).
There needs to be inspection/plant health paperwork for the border agents, so usually it's better to buy on your side of the border - I know Clearview sells to US growers & retailers.
Lol. Life must be hard for you - being the one true authority on how a bunch of made-up words should be pronounced and then having to go around and be offended when the rest of the world varies in any way.

What a sweet and well behaved dog! Amazing garden center, would love to visit next time I'm in town 😍
What’s the baby’s name!
What a tease. I really needed to see each clematis flower and name. Can you go back? Lol
Really good info about the industry and who doesn’t love a good trip to a new garden center over coffee in the morning. Thanks.
Wow!! I wish this garden center was near me. What a great place!! Thanks so much for the tour!!
This was fantastic! I thoroughly enjoyed. What an amazing greenhouse and such a gracious host. Thank you!
Wow! Finally someone explained about clematis pruning! The logic behind is so simple I wonder why I didn’t think of it before ? Awesome video
Thanks Ana Rai. I found that part really useful too!
I wish more garden channel people would have their pets with them. I'm all for a little sweet delight in the form of Weiner dog.
Thanks Jason for that lovely tour. The clematis are so vibrant. Looking forward to the next tour.
Thanks so much Annie
This was awesome to see the other side of things and all of those clematis look divine - the colour - OMG so awesome. Thanks so much for showing us.
Very much my pleasure Kathy! I'm glad you enjoyed the field trip.
A great video. I really appreciate Rob's outlook and how they go about their business.
Thanks Lance. I agree - you can see how the business philosophy has made them successful over the years and generations.

It sure is worth dreaming of - and I'm enjoying my own little farm working with plants, even if it isn't as nice as Clearview!
Fantastic video! Loved the candid talk between professionals. Thank you 😊

Great to learn that staples trick. Have cursed the company and ripped apart a few pots trying to get clematis out.
You're not alone Anne! I know there must be quite a few (including myself) who didn't pop it off so easily.
Secretly that dog is the master mind of this whole operation. He's there to make sure this video goes well.
I got that impression too!
Thanks for bringing us along
Thanks for the tour! That seems like a really sweet dog.
Good job on your family business. A real inspiration !

I love clematis ❤❤❤
Fun video😊
I have been trying to find the missus clematis for ages, apparently its in the garden after all.
At 6:46 there is a two tear plant stand. Love it and is it for sale? Do you have any better pictures of it?
Thanks Ruth. It is quite nice! I don't think it's likely that someone from Clearview is going through these comments to answer about the products though.
Thanks for the video. We just got one from Costco, and the container is around 8 inches wide. Should we repot immediately, or can we wait till winter.
I suspect you could manage the watering in that size of pot this season and maybe repot next spring.
This garden center makes ours in Louisiana look like a tornado hit it.

clever trick with the stapled stake..oh jah bless!
Thanks Ben Neb!
Westerplatte is a Polish clematis with Polish name. You should read 'W' like 'V' and every 'e' like 'e' in 'bed', and 'a' like 'u' in 'run'😉
Where is this garden center? Very beautiful👍

Good grief. I'm sorry, but I just can't watch a video with 'experts' who mispronounce clematis. It drives me bonkers.
Lol. Life must be hard for you - being the one true authority on how a bunch of made-up words should be pronounced and then having to go around and be offended when the rest of the world varies in any way.
@@FraserValleyRoseFarm It really is. Thank you for noticing. It means a lot to me today.
As far as I know clematis is pronounced with the emphasis on the first syllable as in CLEmatis.
