Players are always diplomatic when commenting about leaving a team or on others leaving a team. It's standard procedure preserving their reputation along with that of their former team. I had to laugh when Miller said he learned everything with the Rangers yet they traded him to the Bolts who deemed him disposable and traded him to the Canucks where he exploded playing top line centre scoring 99, 82 and 103 points in the 3 seasons before last.. His very best season with the Rangers he scored 56 points in 82 games. All the best JT.
Miller was a baby not to man up earn his pay and be a team player. He shit the bed then left the team to clean up his mess .Not a team player.Good riddance .What a needless soap opera.
I am no longer emotionally invested in this team. If EP40 doesn't start putting up Draisaitl like numbers right now, this management group has set this franchise back a decade.
Trading a 25 year old is setting the team back a decade, not a man turning 32. I'd be more upset if we traded Miller away while sitting in a playoff spot but we're barely making wild card right now so I don't hate it. As long as they're able to re-sign M. Petey I think the team improves going forward. But I agree that it really all hinges on Petey's performance.
@stroshow5 🤣🤣🤣🤣 yes that guy. Did I stutter? I don't GAF what all you broken fools say. Kids 26 years old. Literally hasn't even entered his prime. Miller is a late bloomer and his best days are behind him. Glad he is gone.
@drifter5682 🤣🤣🤣🤣 you kids are all slow. That 11.6 is paid for what he is going to be in his prime. Not for his 26 year old years. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 literally every star is paid before their prime. You kids know nothing.
Hughes is Hughes! Don’t give Miller for credit in him being a good player! He wears the C because he’s the Canucks best player plain and simple! Miller is a big whiner getting benched one day then leaving the next for personal reasons! The reason was his ego was hurt lol! He’s a cancer in the room and Petey will play better with him gone! He’s older and best days behind him! Good job moving on from him! He is pretty much uncoachable and bull headed from what I’m reading and hearing! What a distraction!
Could you imagine management realizing what 70,000 fans realized after the playoffs last year? Petey needed to go in the off-season. We could’ve traded him anywhere, and could’ve almost picked who we wanted… But no,they let it fester and it kills the locker room.. What team were these guys watching?it was so fucking obvious
Maybe it was Miller vs Tocchet and not Petey. They just didn't want to get rid of Tocchet. Which is better, a veteran impact player or a young impact player to win a cup? And again, thought management was smart? Why sign both players to long contracts? The first thing would be to make sure these guys could get along and play hard together before spending over $100 mil on them.
There probably wasn't as much of a problem when they re-signed and it was a thing that escalated over the years. Especially since Petey re-signed when the team was having a great season-Miller isn't really known to blow up unless the team loses. Either that or management told Petey they'd look into trading Miller if he re-signed?
@@satisfyingV Management knew of this problem for years. They even said everyone tried to work it out a few times, but it didn't work. Management let it escalate. They don't know how to manage the players or team. That is not good management. And then they let it leak. This is an internal issue which should of been dealt internally a long time ago.
long term 8m contract until he retires with a nmc traded to his first choice city, nothing more he could ask for. meanwhile, Canucks could have still had a real leader in Horvat instead of picking up the pieces now.
Griffen hit it on the nail. Absolutely feels like losing your first girlfriend. Wish the best for Miller but will be tough to see him back in a Rangers jersey.
Was JT Miller acquired to be the next Captain of the Rangers? I never knew that there was a vacancy in NY. I think he is the perfect person in doing so and I think it was the reason why he left. I think that part was missing for him here in Vancouver and the time came for him to lead his own team. Let's face it, Miller is not A material and is most definitely C material. NY would be making a poor decision if he isn't the next Captain. I hope that he does and I am very happy with Vancouver having Hughes to be ours.
If they don't extend O'Connor and Double D Petey, then this team is giving up prospects and first round picks for nothing and will be an epic fail like the Lindholm fail last trade deadline. Having cap space will be the only saving grace. No doubt they go more on the go but i expect the only news will be that they signed those player or not. I am sure everyone will be watching with great anticipation to see what the new comers bring. Should be fun. Some how i suspect they are about to deal their first round pick to be a little better up the middle now. It seems to me they are working on a Boeser trade now as the non existent rift between Milsy and Petey is forever put to bed. No excuses now on the Canuck front now. There was no team Petey or a team Milsy, that is just more bullshit. Management had to calm the media waters as this business is all about media telling stories about the team and their lack of success. Clearly Milsy crossed the line with his overly agressive personality and the oral expression of that attitude and had to go as a result. Clearly there is more to the story that will probably come out in the months and years to come.
Miller was one of our most passionate players, until mid November when whatever it was that happened happened, and he lost that passion. It was clear and painful to see JT as a shell of what he'd been for us for the first 5 years and even into October of this season. I hope this move is able to help him get past that whatever it was and be the JT that won hearts and souls here in Vancouver, and in return, Markus Pettersson, and young Mancini who fill a couple of huge holes in our lineup can be what we need to stop losing those late leads this season. Soucy who's been struggling can work it out on the 3rd line with sheltered minutes, or he or Pettersson can play on the off side and see if that works, and move Myers down to more sheltered 3rd line minutes that'll fit his age better. Either way, we also got Mancini who can let us give up on Juulsen who's had his chance this season and shown he's not an NHL defenceman and probably never will be. At best he's an AHL guy who can come up to fill in for injuries - an insurance policy -- maybe.
Ownership is dumping salary. Canadian dollar is dying, and the owners are heavily invested in a depreciating real estate market in Vancouver. The rift was a red herring as an excuse to dump salaries. They will get rid of all their expensive players and become a B league
The Canucks will never trade Miller! Watch for them to move Peterson at the end of the year. Miller is going to take the Canucks to a cup one day soon.
You wanna bet a $1000 and in JT first game as a ranger he gets a couple point. I’ll even give you 1000/1 odds. So if I’m wrong you get a $100,000. Let me know.

EP40 has a LOT to prove
Miller was a baby not to man up earn his pay and be a team player. He shit the bed then left the team to clean up his mess .Not a team player.Good riddance .What a needless soap opera.

So true, I still have interest but zero emotional investment.
EP40 no longer has an excuse to not try and play better and score now that miller is gone
Funny, I felt that way in 1999. Where has everyone else been? This team wasn't going anywhere, and we're angry about a trade that had to be made.
Take care. I'm sure NY will take you. 😂

You don't win cups trading JT Miller and what he brings especially in the playoffs. But we should know that after 55 years of futility.
EP has nothing to prove. Kids a gem. Glad we get to move forward now.
He’s a gem? You mean a guy that never shows up for big games? Comes to training out of shape? Plays with zero intensity? Is mentally weak?
@stroshow5 🤣🤣🤣🤣 yes that guy. Did I stutter? I don't GAF what all you broken fools say. Kids 26 years old. Literally hasn't even entered his prime. Miller is a late bloomer and his best days are behind him. Glad he is gone.
@stroshow5 oh and Petey plays better defense than Miller. Plays with no intensity. 🤣
Hes not paid 11.6 mill for defense hes paid to score he doesnt do that

Make a serious cup run?
Dude, it’s over. Canucks blew it again, they won’t even make the playoffs.
I can't imagine a cup run without JT Miller, I really can't. I can't even see them making the playoffs the way Calgary is playing. It is what it is.
Could you imagine management realizing what 70,000 fans realized after the playoffs last year?

Miller gave the puck away for more goals against this year then he scored for us so please explain why this is a really bad deal for the canucks.
If you're going to talk about the Standings, at least record it after the Saturday night games !!! 🙄
Sell now and rebuild ! Draft high and invest in Canadian players ! Retire Wayne Mackis 11 and lift the curse !
