  • I'm sorry it took so long for me to create this video. Mayo was a wonderful experience for my husband and I. We were well taken care of by the staff and my illness was treated seriously.

Hey there. Was wondering how you are doing. I myself still struggle with FND daily. As long as I’m not too active during the day, my episodes are not as severe.

because of the situation you put him in? correct me if I am wrong, but, isn't he the supposed grown up in this? so who put who in what situation? (sorry, I really don't intend to be mean to you, I think you are really strong for fighting to live your life and doing this vid and all, it's just that I grew up with a narcisistic mother and an "old school" father that loved the frase "and who do you think you are, and I am x amount years older then you so you know nothing" and so on, so hearing stories like yours just gets me a little pissed at people who think that that is an okay way to parent)

Hi Gina! What have you learned from cognitive behavioral therapy that helped your symptoms? Please share any techniques or exercises. And what symptoms are you feeling nowadays? Can you walk more now? Thank you for updating, this is very educational and extremely helpful for those of us with FND. We are always looking for other people’s experiences that can somehow help us on our own situation and know that we are not alone in this. I have been in physical therapy the last four months. My symptoms increase with prolonged activity so I’m not able to do much at a session and so hasn’t really helped except for my balance issues. My insurance is allowing only two more visits but that’s ok, I’ll just do gentle exercises at home and try to walk outside every other day. I have also started cognitive behavioral therapy. He showed me some ways to relax and stop myself from thinking too much and sometimes it works. I am calmer which helped my jerks and headaches. But I still slur especially when tired. And am more symptomatic before and during menstrual cycle. And I have to always pace myself. Take care girl and I hope we hear from you again!

Hi was hoping you had done an update. My symptoms have been bad this week and it’s getting hard to cope. I have daily symptoms, never feeling normal, always off and severity changes throughout the day. Always unpredictable and I hate it so much. It’s been 2 years for me now. Are you the same or have you improved? What’s your life now?

Glad you were able to find closure with some of your symptoms. FND is a horrible condition I wouldn't wish on anyone. It's an ever going battle that challenges you daily. I appreciate you sharing your story with us, and hopefully this will gain more eyes and understanding of the condition in the future. There's still much we don't understand of it, but I pray that changes as time progresses.
    God bless.
