    3 pieces of 20 gauge square wire, 11 inches long(you may need longer if your stone is larger than mine)
    22 gauge half-round wire(no need to measure and pre cut, just keep it on the spool and use as needed)
    One cabochon(mine is sunstone, teardrop shape, 1 inch tall)
    One tiny cabochon(mine is about 3-4mm)
    All my wire is dead-soft bare copper

    I made this with 20ga square sterling silver with a 3/4" black star diopside and a 4mm fluorite bead. The bead allowed me to secure it with 26ga wire prior to wrapping it with the 20ga. I did end up with 1.5-3" leftover on each strand of the 20ga wire. It's always so hard to know and it would be worse not to have enough. Oxana, this is yet another beautiful design! Thank you so much for sharing your gifts.

    I love ❤️ wire work and I am amazed at the designs that crafters like you come up with. I am especially interested in the wire weaving. I see so much beauty in it that it takes my breath away. I know that we all learn from one another. We're sort of the same community no matter where we live. I love ❤️ that about us. My question is in your design. Do you plan your design by making a drawing first, or do you design by the seat of your pants. Design as you go? I like for myself to do both. Have a picture of what I want to create and do the fundamental part, and with the rest I'll change the picture as I see something that looks more beautiful. Do you design like that? Sorry 😐 this is so long, but I could hardly get my point across if i condensed it . Thank you so much your new wirenworking buddy.

    This is beautiful and elegant. I have several cabs with holes in top and would love to do this but I don't know how to put bail in hole without losing the look. Do you have any tutorials with holes in top of cabs? I really need a good one fo a look like this. Thanks so much for posting.

    Thank you so much for posting this. I have been wanting to try my hand at the buried cab for months but I really needed someone to show me how. Thank you so much!! Would you put up a lot more tutorials like this where the tiny cab(s) are buried in different places and with different weaves around the main cab? I know I would love to find out how to do these. Also, I have been looking for a wire wrappers magazine so I can learn more, more, more. Do you know of any magazine subscriptions I could get?

    • @OxanaCrafts
      @OxanaCrafts  6 лет назад +3

      I will try to think of other ways to add the little cabs, sorry I don;t know about magazines, but I know there are some books out there.

      I have used what books I could find but none have been nearly as useful and pretty as your tutorials. And I have seen some old issues of a Wire Wrappers magazine that look fantastic but are no longer being published. I would love to get them mailed to me. Thank you so much for all you do. I love your videos. I wonder where you get your beautiful moonstone cabs?

    I've made it, somehow mine turned out different but I really love this doble stone pendant. Oxana, is it possible to twist round wire?
    Thank you so much 🙏🏻🌠

    • @OxanaCrafts
      @OxanaCrafts  3 года назад

      Unfortunately the round wire doesn't twist, it is the straight edges on the square wire that show the pattern when twisted. The thing that could be done with round wire is using 2 thin pieces and twisting them together, you'd get a twisted/braided kind of look

    Absolutely gorgeous . . I love watching your shows . . You are so amazing. I have a question . . I had a stroke 8 years ago and just started making wire wrapped necklaces again, and I have someone that has rocks and asked how much he would charge me to wire wrap his rocks for him. I have no idea...can you give me a clue? 😎 😎 😎

    • @OxanaCrafts
      @OxanaCrafts  6 лет назад

      Ir depends on the cost of your materials(wire) and how long it will take you. Just figure out your wire cost, as well as how much you want to charge per hour for your labor.

    Love watching your videos!! May I pick your brain on how to get more rigid lines when wiring my cabochons? I'm trying to form a square or rectangle like "accent" (for lack of a better word) incorporated into the frame (base wires) of my wrapped cabochon, and then use weaving wire to anchor the wires together. (I tried to paste a pic to show you, but it didn't post.). Thank you in advance!

    • @OxanaCrafts
      @OxanaCrafts  6 лет назад

      I have a video on where I do a similar frame style but on a rectangle cab, maybe that would help to see, I use pliers to bend sharp angles into the wires

    • @OxanaCrafts
      @OxanaCrafts  6 лет назад

      Emmy Llewellyn I will have to think on that, it is such a tiny stone, I am not sure how to go about wrapping it alone. Maybe same technique, but without the larger sunstone underneath.

    • @OxanaCrafts

      kellie mccann it is not a bead, it is a cabochon, no holes in it. You can find on etsy

    Amazing project! I am wondering though, can the little stone pop out at the top if the wires wrapping around it get hit or bent? How secure is the stone?

    • @OxanaCrafts
      @OxanaCrafts  6 лет назад

      It is quite secure because they would have to get bent forward, usually when you bang it on something the force would be going backwards. I think as long as the stone is really tiny like this it stays very secure, but once you start going bigger that is another story.

  • @whosyourfairy9665

    Does anyone know if you can do this with all round wire? Cause that is all I have

    • @OxanaCrafts
      @OxanaCrafts  3 года назад +1

      You can but it will be more difficult as the round wire doesn't grip the stone as much, and for the thin wire I'd use 28 gauge round in that case and instead of wrapping it around I'd do a weaving pattern so that it doesn't unravel.

    • @whosyourfairy9665

  • @ingerteodora5413
    @ingerteodora5413 6 лет назад

    I really like your instructions and your style of wrapping. However, the sound quality makes me think twice before I watch your tutorials. I suspect the tile wall is the reason for the slight echo. If so, some heavy textiles might help. They don't even have to be in the picture frame, as long as they cover some walls close to the microphone.

    • @OxanaCrafts
      @OxanaCrafts  6 лет назад

      Thanks, I will see what I can do. I am actually filming in a bathroom since I have no other space to film, so that's why there"s the echo. I tend to have very little free time to dedicate to filming, so whenever I get a spare minute I take advantage of it, not sure if it will be logistically possible for me to set up textiles, etc, especially when my kids would tear them all down shortly after, lol, but I will brainstorm on what I could do. There might be a way to turn on subtitles, so you can watch without sound, I think youtube might have the ability to translate what I say into subtitles, but I am not sure.
