This is one of the most beautiful songs of all time. The pictures are great and we owe our service men more than we can ever hope to repay. I suspect that some of the men in the pictures didn't come home again.
So moving. So many beautiful souls lost for nothing more than greed and power sought by lesser souls. Love the music. Will Ye No Come Back Again. Ever the question for those who have lost loved ones.
Oh aye. And what is it about the Scots & Scotland that breeds courage, kindness and such great beauty in the face of adversity? I'll take a cup o' kindness yet in honor of all the brave bonnets gone, but not forgotten.
My hope is that the rest of our small island won't be singing this next year...don't break what is good amongst us. There, and Englishman has said what he feels. Let's go on, together!
The entire free world is forever indebted to the RAF and they are the real "Boys of Summer, 1940". King sized coconuts. I'm an American who will never forget or stop thanking God for raising up such a generation of UK men.
American here. The Brits were called our cousins by Churchill. Our brothers and sisters really. We share a common culture. Freedom of speech, religion, limits on government. So fashionable to disparage it.
The photographs make clear what I should have seen before: the heart of the song isn't about just Bonnie Prince Charlie, but about all those who never came back again to the place where they were best loved, except in spirit.
@PapaNoMidokoro I agree with you, Papa. I know what the words to the song say, but I listen to it sometimes when I think of the friends I lost in Vietnam. Semper Fi.

Some of us remember when the freedom of the world hung by a thread.
