  • A tribute to the RNLI. Mainly staffed by unpaid volunteers, the RNLI provide lifeboats around the coast of Britain and Ireland, on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and seasonal life guards on the most popular holiday beaches. You can find out about the RNLI and donate at:- www.rnli.org.uk/
    The song is 'Home From the Sea' written sung by Liam Clancy and the Lifeboat Chorus -- serving lifeboat crew.

    This makes me think of the Penlee crew that lost their lives in 1981 trying to rescue the crew of the Union star, true heros

    My heart and soul goeous out to the RNLI crews, who through their acts make this the best country in the world to live in. May God bless you all, wherever you find him.

    i'm a probie crew on a lifeboat in perth australia with whitford volunteer sea rescue. i showed my skipper the vid and song we all loved it. RNLI do a great job helped me wheb i was younger on a dive boat in w.wales. lifelong supporter of vol. sea rescue groups

    I am not part of the RNLI but want to thank you for your service cause this isn't your job you don't get paid for this you volunteer you know the risk of being part of this service so I want to thank you not only me but i am thanking for all the supporters and I hope you guys are doing alright through this tough time but thank you

    What a fantastic song, i used to serve with the HMAS and i know its our job to do this kind of work but these guys who do it as volunteers, well i take my hat off to you guys well done and God bless you all and keep you safe

    The rnli are truly amazing human beings who do a terrifying job and I will buy any rnli man a beer in a pub

    it was to here the crew of portsmouth lifeboat singing the chorus at the RNLI carol service at portsmouth cathredal on sunday

    wow i didnt know that belfast2222, glad to see an irish influence. great song too,... liam clancy (RIP) sang it better than anyone... and yes, even better than phil lol. im proud to say iv met phil on quite a few occasions here in sligo. if i had known he wrote that song, id have certainly told him how proud i am.. daaaaaamn, us irish can write songs huh!! lol

    Liam Clancy wrote the song not Phil clouter

      A small bit of research on line would tell you that this song was composed by Phil Coulter in 1981.Liam Clancy recorded it in 2005.
