Thanks for still sharing ! Glad that your RUclips earnings can help you fund the fish room. I think the idea of a UK coastline dedicated tank is a great one 👍

Would be interesting to do a laboratory water test to see what the lava rock is actually doing to the water.

Congrats on a beautiful fish house!
I particularly like the Fluval tank even with hair algae.
    It is absolutely stunning.
    Keep the videos coming.

Nutrients is always a bit of mess of, feel like best thing to do is adjusting light to balance growth and nutrient. Since when macro grows more than nutrients increase it will just start dying off unless fed more. So handy to trim whenever needed. Atm I have started getting brown macroalgea randomly growing in my tank after adjusting light plenty of times. Still hair algea issue but think my light setting is finally good. So will let things grow and remove hairalgea a little at time so it grows with the nutrient to the point of no more hairalgea. And yeah, if ever using rocks, use aged live rock so dont need to cycle the rocks for months and more time

That corrugated sheet on top of the tank with the crack in the bottom looks like it could be pretty severely blocking light. Maybe consider removing that and seeing how the plantlife responds?

I've kept coldwater marine species for a while now. My new 63 gallon was originally going to be coldwater marine however in the end decided a reef tank (though more expensive) was just better for my situation. Perhaps if I lose interest or can't afford the costs I'll retry another native marine tank.
If you have any questions on the subject of it do ask, I'm here to help

Nice one 1st started keeping saltwater fish in the seventies with under gravel filters, tuffa rock and florescent lights didn't have much trouble started again in the 2000s and completely different again ro water live rock better lighting and again nearly 2years ago and again progressed so much more, alot more technical to much in my opinion just keep it simple
