I took an Uber once at around 10 PM and the Uber driver was so high that confessed wanting to kill his wife and how he would’ve done it if it wasn’t because she found out and called the police. He said that she found the bag that he was gonna use to suffocate her and found inside gloves, a knife and rope (apparently, he had already threatened her to do it this way). Then, out of nowhere he takes out a bag and says “a bag like this” and looked at me with a smile. We were in the middle of nowhere when he said it. I genuinely thought that I was going to die that day.
A spokesperson for Lyft told TooFab: "Safety is fundamental to Lyft, and the incident shown in the video is concerning. "We have reached out to the rider to offer our support and have suspended the driver's account pending a complete investigation." kekW
I’m surprised they didn’t say “this woman is being brought on charges for reckless driving and endangering her passenger’s life and will fully cooperate in the legal proceedings”
Driving barefoot, speeding, driving recklessly, and abandoning a passenger on the side of a freeway? This woman shouldn't just lose her job, she should be in a prison.
as someone who has extreme anxiety when it comes to cars, both the way this woman was driving and how she kicked the dude out would’ve probably given me a panic attack
Ik this is two years later, but same. :[ I legitimately tensed up when she started to pull over, like people getting angry while driving is one of those things that always send me into a panicky state.
My worst experience with lift was after I left Epcot my mom and I didn’t want to park so we took a lyft and our driving was falling asleep behind the wheel swerving lanes and then started snorting something to keep himself awake, 100% top 3 scariest moments of my life
Given this video is out and by some people report been on local news. The driver most definitely lost any job/career in Lyft of similar sharing service. Also if given to police she definitely got a ticket or at least a warning and a now marked for any later issues if involved. So outside of say possibly suspending license temporarily or retaking drivers license as a punishment. The fool has damaged themselves enough.
This is why I _NEVER_ put anything in the trunk of a ride share or cab and always low key record the entire time. His first tip off to just immediately walk away should have been the blow up doll in the passenger seat instead of a sign stuck to the window that says no passengers up front. Jesus.
Nothing wrong with a halloween decoration in the front passenger seat. If anything it's more polite than a 'passive aggressive' sounding sign. Could come off a lot worse if there wasn't any indication and they just abruptly tell you to sit in the back, would seem more personal but this way lets you know it's the same rule for everybody.
@@DrakeOola I’d be more pissed to see some shit occupying a seat to keep me from sitting there than to be politely asked, “may you please sit in the back seat instead.”
The driver didn't will an accident into existence, from his sober perspective he likely anticipated the vehicles trajectory. Good drivers with solid spatial awareness can spot an accident before it happens a mile away.
Exactly. The guy with enough driving experience and attention to the cars around him to predict an accident ahead of time is the guy I want driving me 100% of the time.
I was staying in a hotel in San Francisco and we wanted to go to the beach and got a Lyft. We got in the mans car and my mom was halfway in the car when he started stepping on the gas almost dropping my mom. My mom called Lyft and got her money back and also got that mf fired.
@@antwonmartinez8520 your story reminds me of an encounter I had with a French taxi cab driver and my own mother in Paris once. He did the same but we couldn't really do much...
This unlocked a memory I completely forgot. A couple of years ago I was in an uber with my friend and the driver asks if we're university students. We say yes, and the driver calls us smart. He then proceeds to go on a rant yelling that all people with low IQ should be killed. We were preached why eugenics and genetic cleansing should be a thing for like 20 minutes.
ROFL at thinking university students are automatically smart. Was extremely disappointed when I got there. The bar is currently: do you have shit tons of money, or are you willing to get 5000 miles deep into debt? Ok, you're in.

Damn, my dad used to be an Uber and Lyft driver at night when money was hard, poor man tore his dream car apart doing it, and he always had the creepiest and scariest stories he'd tell us at like 3 AM. Man has had passengers drunk off their asses all the time and has had to take them to the shadiest locations and was threatened by crazy ex's with guns or got his car stuck in a ditch on freaky roads in pitch blackness. i've never been in any horrible rideshares but my mom and dad were in a cab in NYC on their way to dinner, but they had left late and so they told the driver when they had to be there, and so the driver picked up the pace. by picked up the pace i mean that when they turned a corner, the car momentarily went onto only two wheels. they still made it to dinner though, and at this part in the story my dad always adds "alive, to our surprise"
Was this in an SUV or truck? If not I think your parents are exaggerating when they say the car went on two wheels. Cars are incredibly difficult to flip or get on two wheels unless you are trying to deliberately.
Lacking the full context here, I'm impressed with how well he remains calm in the midst of a raging Karen banishing him on a freeway. But it's gotta be so surreal seeing her fully thriving in her habitat like that, I might laugh it off in person too.
I wonder if she was considering a good old fashioned "REEEEEE" but decided it would be too much of a cliché, so in the heat of the moment settled on doing an impression of a pig burning alive.
I've had a Didi driver who barely spoke English, which is fine, but he was drenched in sweat, and wanted to avoid a busy street in Melbourne CBD because he was freaking out, then proceeded to cut off a bunch of cars, drive in the wrong late and almost wrecked into somebody, gave him 5 stars was a wild ride lmao
I can actually predict other drivers' behaviour like Charlie's uber driver in the beginning story. I had several times episodes in which cars that were not acting particularly out of the norm gave me weird vibes and I observed them, thinking "this guy's about to do x" and then they do x a few seconds later. If you drive often and pay a lot of attention to your surroundings, your brain is going to subconsciously gather a lot of information that your conscious self is not going to process alone, and then that subconscious information will manifest as these weird hunches that will then come true. It's pretty amazing but it's not supernatural or weird, as it is just pattern recognition that happens on a subconscious level. I drive very often and this kind of stuff happens pretty regularly to me, so I always listen to this "instinct" and I've avoided several accidents doing that over the years.
Yeah I've been driving 6 years but drive about 95 miles 5 days a week. I often have someone next to me and im like "I'm going to get over another lane, he seems sketchy" and then they do something awful. Caught an accident like that on my dash cam once. Pretty crazy stuff. Guy was just chilling in his lane going about 80 on the highway, must have reached for something or fell asleep or something, cause next thing I knew he slammed into the concrete barrier, swerved back into the lane and lost control, slammed into the guy in the next lane, then slammed into the barrier again and then came to a stop finally. I think like 5 cars got damaged because of that shit. Pretty wild stuff.
I've been kicked out of normal taxies on the freeway a few times. Not sure what it is about this profession but it attracts a lot of scumbags and thieves.
I once got in the wrong car after getting off the T in Boston , I laughed, she laughed and she decided to drive me to my rooming house because she thought it was the funniest thing to happen. Tbh, that’s likely an insanely dangerous situation to be in
It's actually against Uber and Lyfts policy to let someone out on a highway, Its curtosey to take them to a gas station or rest stop, etc. Even if they're scary or something along the lines of harm, you can let them out elsewhere that isn't a rest stop/gas station, but even then still not allowed to on a highway far as I understood it. Highway drop offs are super easy lawsuits, Uber/Lyfts insurance is liable for it, and just letting someone out on the Highway can cause you to be immediately terminated regardless how horrible of a rider they were.
It’s also just illegal regardless of whether you’re a rideshare driver or not, if you take your friend somewhere and leave them out on the highway as a prank you can still go to jail it easily counts as reckless endangerment
@@Idontknow-vm1iy Everywhere in the World if u are on "express", "interstate" or "highways" you are not allowed to stop unless it is on designated emergency spots( and to be there u need valid reason as often those spots are occupied by emergency vehcles like ambulances and so on. As someone who drove Lyft for years, you're far more likely to have a horror story as a driver than a passenger lol
I’ve been considering trying it since I’ve been delivering with DoorDash and UberEats, but the horror stories scare the poop out of me.
@@ytodysm4893 99% of the time its fine, a lot of people just sit there on phone, some people want to talk to you but i dont really mind it. i just never felt like i could listen to my phone or whatever and be distracted like you prolly can with deliveries. if you do it strategically im sure you can make a lot more for a few hours than deliveries though like going to events or bar hours or driving in the middle of the night when theres not a lot of drivers. the one thing i feel though is delivery drivers probably get tipped a lot more, i probably got tipped 5-10% of the time driving lyft, usually just a few dollars but if you do events and stuff youre more likely to have someone hand you a 10 or 20. its really a night gig, daytime driving generally sucks its usually people with no car who use it daily and thus dont tip and are just going to store or work relatively close by. ive noticed in delivery apps u usually have to set a tip before you order, while with lyft they can tip through app afterwards which makes them a lot more comfortable not giving you anything
