Awesome ideas 👍 I have the same exact machine and I was just contemplating how I would secure the bed and add a fixed 90° angle jig I was thinking something similar, but it’s nice to see it done before hand 👍
My ULS laser had all the guides built in with positive retention of the bed. I just received a new 100 watt clone if the OmTech here and it has no guides. Looks like I have a project ahead! Also, self adhesive black on white ruler tape on the borders of the cutting bed really helps in planning cuts. Cheap and easy improvement
The route I took to secure my honeycomb was to get a roll of neodymium magnet and ran to strips on each side. It’s very secure to the point that it takes a bit of force to remove the bed
Thanks for the videos, sir! As far as the acrylic, you just predrilled the holes then used bolts, washers, and nuts and went through the honeycomb holes?
Glad you find them useful. That’s correct. Predrilled the acrylic I and used bolts, washers and nuts to secure in place through the honeycomb trays holes.
@@FlashpointWoodworks-fp6br I thought so...i just wanted to check...I've almost saved up enough for a 2028-80watt...can't wait to use all of your videos when I upgrade mine! Thanks again!!

Thanks for the comment. I hope yours goes as easily as mine did. I’m a few months in, and the honeycomb tray is as secure as ever!
Great video! I recently purchased an Omtech AF2435. I have not set it up yet but this video will be helpful if I need to secure the honeycomb tray.
Thank you, I appreciate the compliment. Glad it helped out!

That’s a good idea! I never thought of doing it that way!
Very cool I’m looking for a solution for month about the zero reference point. I will probably engrave a ruler scale to the acrylic piece 😊
That’s a great solution!
I did some thing like this, but I put mine in them trim it to what the machine cut it square
I like that idea. Probably the smartest way to get the best accuracy!

1 thing i forgot to ask. Does this laser need a special outlet to plug in to? Thanks again!!
Sorry for the delayed response, but no, just a normal 110v outlet.
