- Fingersoft just dropped a bomb on us. Indeed, they have announced the new 1.61.0 update, featuring revolutionary new buffs, such as adding a 4th tuning part slot to vehicles.
Literally nobody asked for this update. Nobody asked for a 4th Tuning Part slot.
Not only does this update completely upset the competitive side of the game, by making everything that's ever been achieved in the game obsolete, but it also impacts the casual players, by making Vehicle Mastery excessively expensive and painful to grind.
Even though it might be a bit interesting to see the new strategies, I don't think there's much hope to revive HCR2 at this point.. this update was the nail in the coffin.

As the best Racing Truck player, I technically want to see what the update is about before judging anything. Personally, I was always frustrated with the Air Drag "feature" and was wondering what could the limits possibly be without any Air Drag. That's just an example. If you take some history in the sport competitons, same thing. Take the Ski Long Jump for instance. Before, the best method allowed was to keep both your skis parralel to each other. Then one person got way further with a new method, the "Duck type" Long Jump, where your skis form a V. This person was disqualified for not respecting the rules. Guess what? Now everyone jumps that way.
I understand the possible frustrations that can arise and agree on the point to make separate leaderboards to keep the "old" HCR2 alive. I would do it if I could (and many other people apparently) but I am not a dev and ultimately, this is not my decision.
I do agree with you on the racing truck argument, and I do think this update can benefit some of the worse vehicles to make them more competitive.
But saying that this update is like the change in sky jumping techniques in not accurate imo
That change may have happened over night and made the previous world record very weak, but that is just an unfortunate thing that can happen and it has to happen to develop the sport. But what fingersoft is doing is allowing super-fast skis for ALL ski related events, not just jumping. If one record gets shattered, fine, but in hcr2, there are 160+ records that no are no longer important
In ski jumping, all jumpers could switch with a bit of practice, on hcr2 you need 4 mil coins and grinded xp to use this change

I told in PR server around 1-2 years ago that FS will release 4th tuning slot when the game will be nearly dead, it was clear after CC-EV, tbat they will start adding more OP stuff to keep players in their game.. and they did. Muscle Car, then nitro, now this.
I wanted to create new account so many times but a little of things stopped me from that.
1 - Ads which appear every 2 races
2 - Blueprint stuff
3 - This currency that you get for leveling up adventure chest to unlock new adventure map (previous star system was better)
Leave the game, stop playing it and show devs what they deserve. They expect us to play HCR3 but I bet that even 20% of cureent playerbase will. Not even talking about behavior of community managers, this is unacceptable.

They used to make HCR 2 have a glorious past without these things, I still remembered the WRs of CCEV on Desert, but for now, they ruined that HCR 2 glorious past with p2w mechanisms, bugs, glitches may even not be fixed. That does not include hackers and nonsense banning system, they banned legends and their WRs yet hackers still.
I think we should go back to HCR 1, no more paying on HCR 2.

There still is an intersection of players like me, I would say. I don't care for wrs that much; i just want to enjoy the game and do fun things. But also I have a well-developed account that can easily muster the (for this level, low) cost of the update.
It's definitely a small slice of the player base but there are still people excited for this update, as I am, is what i am willing to bet.
While the issue of leaderboard irrelevance is real, the cost aspect is a bit overblown. Today's game gives you more coins than any previous version.

@@Gekoloudios There is a slow rollout of masteries and in between getting them you need to drive a lot to get exp, plus that already gained masteries allow you to driver better and further, granting you even more coins. Paying 112mil up front is a very hefty price indeed but that's now how this works.

If they add some tweaks this might actually be a good update (reducing costs, having leaderboards for non-mastery vehicles just to name a few), but we all know how Fingersoft handles updates. They don't give a shit about us, those greedy pigs.
Everyone is just hating on this update. If they put these on a separate leaderboard that would be fine with me. They should make it so you can still play old records on old leadboards while playing with masteries/ 4th tune slot goes on new leaderboards. It would be fun play rt with no drag and extra part for example. wheelie + kanga would be so fun

I used to play this game when I was younger on my dads phone in like 2O17.after deleting it years ago I revisited the game and was surprised to find the new changes. I remember scooter was the first vehicle u can buy and bus the next. Now you need blueprints to unlock scooter and get a lot of points in public event to get bus .these Og vehicles are zo hard to get now :(

I don’t think they know which damage they have done to this game with this update. Just going into theoretical territory, Kangaroo with Magnet could actually get 100km in basically 90% of the maps. Not including other setups or the pure fact that they tried preventing long distance in every way possible for the last 2 years, even limiting the fuels past certain distances. Every world record will get beaten and getting new ones for 99% the Players will be locked behind an averaging 9m coins per vehicles not including the parts themself. I actually have split feelings with this update. It would be a perfect update if they would create a whole new section of the leaderboard which separates the current World Record from the new ones would literally fix the issue players have right now.

What Rhys said about them not caring about world records, and trying to make the game more fun: only like 2% of players have world records, so most of the playerbase is not gonna get affected by that. The only problem I have with masteries is that they are painfully expensive. This is just my opinion tho
The thing is, I actually started RUclips becaude of this game and played it somewhat obsessively for about 2,5 years (March 2019 to about August 2021) and then realised that it is just a waste a time because it has got way for far on the PayToWin-system (I actually didn't even understood it back then; I was 11 years old in 2019 and almost 14 in August of 2021). I stopped after the tiers for teams got added and way before vehicles like the muscle car were added (or the nitro tuning part).
I have not stopped watching videos completly and so I somewhat noticed the development of the game, and it just breaks my heart. I would say that I put about 2,000 hours into the game and I haven't played it actively for more than two years (I play like once a month for an hour or so). I am utterly disappointed in Fingersoft and somewhat myself. I will be continuing playing the game because I still want to get all the achievements (I have like 8,500 won races from the 10k you need), but my original goal, which was to max out all vehicles and get one world record, will never be fulfilled. Ths game is not a game; it's a chore.
Hill Climb Racing 1 is still good, but I regret it to have downloaded this game and support Fingersoft through watching tens if not hunderts of thousands of ads. They have made way to much money with myself. And the status, that this game was dead and will be even more dead from now on, is disapoointing me and also deserved. Definitely deserved.
Well said dude, I agree that Fingersoft is killing their own games before releasing Hill Climb Racing 3, But after this update, It's time to switch to hcr1 once this update drops, Btw you can turn off the wifi in hcr1 to not get any ads.

also dont get me started on how much money people lost from buying vip just to add a harder pay to win mechanic. think about this. Theyre adding a thing that costs 4mil but vip gives you only 600k which means you need to buy a shit ton of offerts or play the game 24/7. This game honestly is killed and i think we should switch to hcr1.Casuals (f2p) are like 90% of the community which are gonna fucking leave. Fingerclowns proved to be the WORST game company to ever exist.Also this is coming from a guy that had 3 WRs until nitro was added. Both nitro and 4th tuning slot will ruin the game. This may be the first time we will ever see CCEV being beaten by a random ass vehicle+ we may see all maps getting 20km at least.
Also notice how HCR2 is being killed while hcr1 has no good updates? The last good update was probably 1.56 because the rest of them added shit vehicles. Are they killing both the games for hcr3?

The last update is good, air car is a decent choice for the competitive scene, and at least the game isn't pay to win, unlike hcr2.

Since I am not playing the game anymore, I only know now that this is even announced, as your are one the few channels that I still watch. But as someone who has stoped playing about 2,5 years ago, I am glad that I escaped this chore and this supports it even more.

I guess the same thing Supercell did with Brawl Stars: they removed boxes in favour of Starr Drops, addition of (new) Power 10 and Power 11 (old Power 10 could be obtained by getting a Star Power on a brawler that was Power 9), gears (were reworked in the season 15 update), mutations (super game-breaking, especially Hank and Stu mutations), making the Brawl Pass 100% P2W (not being able to purchase with gems anymore), reduced the limit of players in a club from 100 to 30, brawlers that broke the game: Edgar (crashed the servers), Mico (because monke), Kit (too OP), Larry & Lawrie (crashed the servers + too OP), Angelo (broken) and Melodie (super overrated, broken in Brawl Ball, and apparently she has more simps than Janet) and of course, ladies and gentlemen, POOP SPIKE. 💩
However, Brawl Stars future is going great, many players are returning or playing for the first time because of the new progression system and Starr Drops. But seeing that many Melodie simps makes me go 💀.
Speaking of Fingersoft and Hill Climb Racing series:
HCR2's new update completely ruined the game. And no, it wasn't the 1.58 update, that added Rock Bouncer and also made the Scooter, Motocross, Tractor, Monowheel and Snowmobile obtainable through blueprints (which takes a VERY LOOOOOONG time to obtain enough to unlock the said vehicles), but it's the new 1.61 update. Mastery takes a VERY LOOOOONG time to obtain just like the blueprints used to unlock the vehicles above except Rock Bouncer, the addition of a 4th tuning part slot ruins every single iconic WR (ah yes, boutta see the power of nitro + kangaroo), unlocking a mastery perk costs 1 FRIGGIN MILLION COINS (which is too much) and the worst part, masteries are only available for Sports Car, Monowheel, Racing Truck and Moonlander. The only good thing that's coming to HCR2 is the savanna map.
P.S. only my Moonlander is 20/20/20/20, which is elligible for the four mastery perks, and my Monowheel's engine is 20, so it's elligible for only one mastery perk.
So, how HCR2 is going? Many people are quitting the game. Either because of the new update sucks or they were banned for doing absolutely nothing bad, while hackers do not get banned. But, in my opinion, the new update is good, and even if mastery takes a VERY LOOOOONG time to obtain, at least it's something that changes the game. But still, the original HCR1 is better until FS comes up with HCR3.

What used to be a goofy ahh game for kids has become a competitive fight arena for adults. But for me, it used to be goofy, it is goofy and will remain goofy (until Jerry 11 stops posting shorts of course). I've seen it in EVERY game i've ever played in my life. The game starts strong, explodes into the market like a Hiroshima bomb, but collapses like the twin towers from 9/11 after 5 years. What is my advice to keep HCR2 alive?
1. Give us the hoverbike and rock bouncer for coins.
2. Reduce ticket refill prices.
3. Introduce a new setting, in which one option is performance and the other is high end. The performance option optimises the game for more FPS and less lag spikes, while the high end option enhances resolution and sound quality at the cost of performance and FPS.
Also, I was glad that Titanium wasn't going to rage quit like a crybaby, rather he was going to join a good amount of people watching the world of games burn.

Guys, Im telling you play geometry dash, the game listens to its community and the developer put a lot of ideas from the community in a single update which took 6-7 years to come out.

i mean, they are trying to extend the lifespan of this game by developing a dimension, within our current dimension, to see of what's truly possible, to see how far people can truly go. with this 4th tuning slot, there's nothing to tell what's gonna happen, i understand og's that have some records are going to be upset about their records being beaten and some are gonna quit because of it, but like idk, let quitters be quitters, people come and go, as i see it it's gonna expand the lifespan of hill climb racing 2 for many years to come, more opportunities for hardcore players to stay on their A game, and more opportunities to continue grinding if you so wish, what i loved most about hill climb was that it's basically an infinite game, i actually liked how you have to work hard to get the parts maxed out, it takes a long time but yeah, you get to see how far you've made it, part of why i have vip is because i want to drive just a little bit faster, it is a lot more fun even though u give them your money, but yeah, i get to choose where i spend my money. you all shouldn't take these sorts of things that seriously in the first place, spending thousands of hours on some records that don't even matter anyways, it is for fun, don't make it so that your life revolves around it, if you do then you need to re-evaluate your priorities in life.
As a casual player who has already reached Legendary, I Am only in Division 2 (Teams). How the **** am i supposed to get 1,000,000 ****ing coins, let alone 4 M; + I Feel Very bad for people like Zorro, Linus, for the Legendary accomplishments they have gotten; And essentially the entire OG Hcr2 Community. If Fingersoft decides to hit the last nail in the coffin with a hammer, I will be attending the funeral With my deepest sorrow.

Only way to fix the game in my opinion is if they lower the mastery cost to like 50k first 3 then 100k 4th one (or smth like that) and delete that "gain xp thingy", reduce veicle blueprints to 50-75 per vehicle not 250, buy maps for coins or/not with adventure tokens, give all players couple legendary chest so they can unlock some nitro parts and reduce cost of coins while purchasing it with gems so its easier to mastery a vehicle.
Honestly, I'm probably among the top people in the world who have spent a lot of money on this game and I can't give up playing because I've already spent too much on this game. Sometimes I regret spending money on this game.

Even faster track time records by competitive P2W players once they have the new 4th slot unlocked.
One new map for all to try (the Savannah).
Disadvantages:
Significantly more grinding for F2P player to unlock all Mastery tiers due to the slow process of upgrading cars (Price of upgrades, upgrading add-on parts, etc.).
More (but not as much) grinding for P2W players, as completing Mastery to get the 4th slot will require racing in championships even more to meet the requirements.
A huge spike in difficulty for F2P players when in higher driver tiers (as many races are PvP + matchmaking isn't perfect, they might be forced to compete w/Mastery-Unlocked players)
A total Meta change in order to keep up in limited-time events, as the 4th add-on slot will make competitive players much more faster compared to casual players.
The people should be excited that new stuff is coming to the game
There are many casual players than competitive players in the hcr2 community.indeed this update is going to be revolutionising . instead of complaining about the old wrs , we should be happy for there are new wrs to come , and a new wave of competitive players may arise . This update will also bring newer people to hcr2 thus growing the community
This is just my opinion and I am open to talk it through , I do not want a heated argument rather a good debate on the update

This update would make hcr2 more difficult for newbies playing cause of annoying muscle car users with 4 fully maxed out parts and so for new players its almost useless to play events and also it's will destroy all gains and motivation of. pro players . Rip hcr2

i quit HCR2 back in 2022 because they started adding all the new vehicles then the nitro... i planned to maintain my yt channel for years but now theres no reason of why to do it... its sad seeing the game destroys itself...
There's so many things they can do to fix the game and make it more fun and competitive! Let's start by having everying have the same perspective in game, like Brawl Stars does; regardless the native aspect ratio of the device's screen, it is there always changed to a fixed aspect ratio, so regardless the device, everyone playing sees the same. Whereas with HCR2, I have a wide aspect ratio and this is terrible as I very often don't see my landing spots while flying or fly off-screen, losing sight of my angle, in "jump as far as you can" events.
Then there's the random bottoming out issue, the issue that there's a "don-t press the gas it won't do anything" bug right after igniting Nitro that has been there since its introduction. There's also the stupid design of daily, weekly and friend challenges and the introduction of "vehicle blueprints" that so far have had no introduction in the game and still don't know what they're being used for without watching YT videos. That's just a few things I need fixing before anything new is added.
For those pro players out there, the fun should not be in being able to spend the money and gems to get new stuff, it's to become better and set new (personal) records, right?

I think they should add ,,4 part runs" category in leaderboards so runs with 3 parts and 4 parts will be separated
Bro it's so costly new players or players below 5000 gp can't even afford to unlock 4 th slot and mastery the vehicle and hcr2 don't give much coins until and unless you're vip and have all blueprint vehicle it will give 3000 coins as 11k gp player i can unlock but what about new player or players who have low gp the game is dying after they add nitro and soon i will leave these game it's update are trash now many players created world record with kangaroo but after 4 th slot by adding fume boost it will be so easy
Bro I SWEAR blueprint vehicles are enough. I've been playing for a year and I still haven't unlocked those bp vehicles. They just make the game worse. I just wanna go back to those times where they can be unlocked by racing, not by multiple ways like adventure. Fingersoft needs to stop ruining the game and focus more on hackers
If no updates were made that change balancing the records would eventually stagnate... but yeah they need to make a leaderboard seperate between mastery and normal to save what exists, amd that would fix literally every single issue with the update lol

I THINK THAT THEY HAVE DONE MASTERY FOR 4 VEHICLES AND WON'T DO FOR OTHERS (JUST A PREDICTION) AND REALLY IT WILL HELP ME AND OTHER PLAYERS WHO DON'T HAVE MAX PARTS WILL BE ABLE TO GET NEAR TO HARD WRS . MOREOVER,THIS 4RTH TUNING PART CHANGE HAS BEEN AN IDEA GIVEN BY MANY HCR2 RUclipsRS SO IT'S NOT FS'S MISTAKE.
2.THE BAD SIDE:-
I KNOW THAT AFTER THE NITRO INCIDENT,MANY TA PLAYERS LEFT BUT IF WE COMPARE IT TO ADVENTURE,ONLY THOSE PLAYERS WILL LEAVE WHO DIDN'T WANT TO CONTINUE THE GAME BUT WERE MAKING A RECORD FOR THEIR PASSION WHICH ONLY MADE THEM STAY HERE;END-GAME PLAYERS like ZORRO OR THE DECENT PLAYERS WHO WERE HAVING LOW RECORDS WITH 3 SLOTS HAVE LESS CHANCES OF LEAVING THIS PLATFORM.

But once the post falls over, you feel worse, you fell to, and you wish you were never on the post.
The thing is though, the post isnt gone. At least we still have hcr 1. It is still better than normal mobile games.

My friend started playing this game 2 months ago. He's been grinding blueprints since and he has only 140 today. He hadn't played the game before so he couldn't experience the old good times when everything required less grind.
Anyway: Barely anyone will grind or buy those mastery levels. Wtf are those new updates💀
My friend got 2 bp vehicles and currently grinding to get 3rd, he has 207 now, he joined in march and he has previous hcr experience
what's even worse is that for more casual players, like me for example, will have an absolute grand time trying to complete the trophy road, let alone public + team events. i'm already struggling with completing the public events because of people who already have everything in the game maxed out, but this totally makes it even better (sarcasm of course).
Oh, and let's not forget about the price of the darn things. I barely earn like 25k/day, maybe less, from tasks, chests, etc. so it would take a long time for me to get ONE. at this point fs is just making casuals suffer.
some on the mastery buffs actually seem decently balanced and not too op but a fourth slot is too much

I started playing since 2016 As an OG this is the limit my Intentions are broken the Love and meaning hcr2 is completely useless.....Sadly , They thought this will help new players but in reality , I once told my friend my friend t play this game but now he's super super struggling for Tokens, Especially The Blueprints they all are like f ....literally why?? and for the 4th part I think can be a new era of HELL CRAP RACING 2 (HCR2)
Competitive Players: Fingersoft noo!! You can't add vehicle mastery to make things go out of control and make players rage!!!

Starting, I don't think I'd be affected much, as I never was a competitive player and never held a single WR. I'm only playing Adventure, and this update can only improve my runs.
But at what cost? 4 million coins and 100 hours of mastery grind? Making many others leave? Destroying all that we have seen before? 😮 And that's why I actually dislike this update.

if they don't care about competition in game why have they even created the thing "leaderboards"
⚠⚠There should be the OG record leaderboard, and then a bonus leaderboard including any records made with mastery buffs, and then ANOTHER leaderboard specifically for cars using 4 tuning slots. Atleast this won't make it that bad...⚠⚠
All they need to do is add a option to play with 4 or 3 slots in racing and adventure to have different leaderbords so everything will be fine
