      I like bottom-top box with cap holes design it's more spill-resistant (like this one ruclips.net/video/7UXsD7nSfDY/видео.html ) , have you consider building this design ?
      I like manual wiring, but is it sounds better then pcb ?

      They’re actually a bit heavy for my liking but the tactility and sound is great.

    nice looking keyboard joe! , i feel like it would make more sense to shift the thumb cluster to the left on the right keyboard (and also to shift the left one to the right) since from what it looks like your resting position is on the farthest key and wouldnt all of the thumb cluster keys be more reachable if your resting position will be on the middle key?

    • @joe_scotto
      @joe_scotto  2 дня назад

      It would make sense from an ergonomic standpoint, yeah. But a big thing with my boards is that I compromise a bit in order to get a look I like as well.

    what are you using to mount the switch mount plate to the case?

  • @Person_Of_Trees
    @Person_Of_Trees 3 дня назад +4

    Do you have a git repo that shows your schematic you used for the PCB itself? I'm interested in making one from scratch, and would like to see what changes you used to make your own. I'm assuming that you used Kicad, but regardless, showing the schematic would be helpful for those of us more used to PCB design.

      Bro, did you watch the video?
      No pcb in a keyboard, hardwired

    • @holopengin
      @holopengin 2 дня назад +1

      If you look up what a switch matrix is and think through how it works, that's like 90% of the design work, and the other bit is just connecting some IO pins to the other usb (or trrs etc) breakouts for i2c or SPI data and power to slave side. If you are familiar with PCB design and KiCad already, creating a schematic for this should be fairly easy.

    Where is this USB-C connector from? I need one for my leverless project.
    Also, I am very thankful for your videos, that introduced me into KiCAD and got me into my first project!

    • @moritz8746

      Since the keyboard is fully programmable it can be whatever you want: Space, Enter, E etc.

    • @joe_scotto
      @joe_scotto  День назад

      I call it an action button and have been using it as escape but you can use it as whatever you want since the board is fully reprogrammable.

    Awesome video, as always Joe! I spent a few hours yesterday cussing while I looked for how to get an RP2040 (as a KB2040) split to use serial between the halves. Once I saw the file to edit, the rest was easy, all the way up to getting it to work in Vial, by looking at examples that already do work. Now I just need to get the encoders and OLEDs added in.

    Thanks alot for this video❤ please make more handwired projects like this. Honestly, i cant build most of the PCB projects because it is very expensive in my country. So because of that, handwired projects are way cheaper and easier for me. Tanks again❤
