    WHAT IS THE ATHEIST EXPERIENCE?
The Atheist Experience is a weekly call-in television show in Austin, Texas geared at a non-atheist audience. The Atheist Experience is produced by the Atheist Community of Austin.
The Atheist Community of Austin is organized as a nonprofit educational corporation to develop and support the atheist community, to provide opportunities for socializing and friendship, to promote secular viewpoints, to encourage positive atheist culture, to defend the first amendment principle of state-church separation, to oppose discrimination against atheists and to work with other organizations in pursuit of common goals.
We define atheism as the lack of belief in gods. This definition also encompasses what most people call agnosticism.

In the UK here 55% and growing describe themselves as no religion. When I was a child 50 years ago I thought that religion was only something in history books about wars between Popes. It wasn't until I was in my twenties that I actually met someone who I actually realised believed in gods and jesuses and things. Atheism is absolutely the default in a world where everything that used to be attributable to supernatural explanation is understandable in an entirely consistent framework. Literally no need for superstition unless you are of an excessively judgmental and insecure nature.

I became an atheist in 1957. I didn't know of any other atheists, (except Bertrand Russell possibly), and schools taught Xian religion as fact. I noticed a change in the mid-60s. I think it was a few comedies, like Monty Python and 'Till Death Do Us Part, that lampooned Xianity, that allowed for societal criticism of religion and burgeoning disbelief.

It’s especially nuts because they have every single opportunity to learn as most people. This isn’t knowledge hidden away somewhere! It seems to be that people who ask “what created the first cell” when you ask “what is a god and how could/did it did it create” seem to know they don’t have the goods.
But it’s personal/emotional to them, like their religion, so they don’t see the need to look at the facts and wants their “oh yea well” script, and faith to carry them through the flow chart.

      @powerpointgamer 2 года назад +1

I'm the John that made the call. I was having a long debate with a creationist on Quora and these were the five things that he asked me to 'prove'. If I wasn't able to do this, it would demonstrate that evolution does not have a sound scientific basis. I am not a biologist. I didn't even know if the challenges were valid or not (excluding the 'atheist's cell' nonsense). When I saw that Forrest was on the show, I took the opportunity to test them out. This is what my creationist interlocutor sent me. I did not respond any further.
EVOLUTION IS BUILT UPON A HOUSE OF CARDS.
      1. Prove that the first ever atheist’s lone isolated cell could have formed without there ever having been a previous cell.
      2. Prove that the atheists first ever lone isolated cell could have evolved into the atheists first ever single celled organism.
      3. Show how a cell could live for billions of years without a mechanism to transform an energy source into fuel. How one could have formed DNA that would have been needed to transform energy into fuel.
      4. How, a cell without DNA could have begun to replicate.
      5. And prove that any single celled organism replicated multicelled organisms.
All of this would first been needed to be shown possible before evolution could ever have a chance to be scientifically sound.

    • @aceventura5398
      @aceventura5398 2 года назад

There is no solidity to anything. It's all wave frequencies. Without sensors and codes nothing exist. Without life forms decoding information there is nothing. This is all the proof nessasary to know an intelligence is the creator.
A God is impossibly hard to accept given he is not showing himself.
So why don't these religions explain why he isn't showing himself.
Religions are not here to lead people to a God. Religions are here to keep the majority of them from KNOWING God. Religious people say they *beleive* some will *KNOW* , but the vast majority will have doubts.
God hardens hearts against belief. Why ?
Because the trial calls for atheism to be incorporated into societies.
A trial is taking place. It's a trial to see if humans can have their cake and eat it too.
Satan said they can while Yahweh warned against it.
Yahweh: " do not take the knowledge I keep from you. For if you do you will surely die "
Satan: " take the knowledge I can give you and become gods"
This is how atheism developed from belief. Atheism is crucial to a fair trial. The humans must live without the *KNOWLEDGE* or influences of our creator for the trial to be acceptable to both sides.
Why not just kill Satan ?
The catylst of doubt was cast after Lucifer spoke those words..
One third of the angels sided with Satan. The rest fought with the father against Satan and his now angels.
But that doesn't mean they all KNOW the Father was telling the truth.
Just as the humans who say they believe carry doubts , so too do the angels.
How can they know the Father is telling the truth unless it's put to the test.
Laws and regulations in this trial:
Yahweh and Satan must remain out of sight to the majority.
KNOWLEDGE of their existence is OFFERED to individuals given the right circumstances.
Only when the humans are literally seconds away from total destruction can Yahweh intervene.
Doing so before this critical moment will have lucifer proclaiming the humans were not given enough time to work out their problems.
Then the humans will live with Yahweh for a thousand years while Satan and his angels are locked away. This a period allotted for reconnection and experience life * WITHOUT * the hidden knowledge.
Once the thousand years is completed Satan and his angels are released. Any who beleive the life they had under the hidden knowledge was more favourable to them may join Satan in the final battle for the earth and all its content.

Just to clarify, here's the response I gave to one of the commentators below:
Extra note: I doubt if this creationist had the first clue about biology. I wouldn't be surprised if these challenges came from some pseudoscientific mumbo-jumbo from one or more creationist websites.

Firstly, this is not to take shots at Forrest or anyone. I've done my fair share of studying Origins of Life, its fascinating as is really THE question.
But with the confidence of Forrest saying how life started like he did, then simply why haven't we been able to replicate this in a lab? Why is the current majority consensus (on those who work in the Origins of Life field) then that we are no where near being able to do this. Theories yes, but non proven or replicated period.
But Forrest has figured it all out? Nobel prize worthy stuff if he has. Again, not a shot at him. Forrest ain't no dumby.
I think a fair additonal argument to be made on what he's saying then must be, if it indeed happens as "easy" as that, firstly why cant we do that here in a controlled lab setting, and why don't we see this anywhere else. Would it be that far of a stretch to say based on what he said?

He's talking about panspermia which is the, now proven, theory that the amino acids required for life arrived on earth but they still had to form somewhere
Abiogenesis is the theory which best explains how amino acids form and the conditions required. There was a period where it could occur on earth

The first stars where mainly made of Hydrogen and Helium, they consumed there fuel rather fast, these then exploded throwing all sorts of elements out into the galaxies.
These then collapsed under gravity influences, and formed , stars, planets and solar systems. Asteroids where formed by proto planets colliding.

If I could ask every theist who calls in one question it would be _By what mechanism can you demonstrate the ability to differentiate between a genuine belief in a god that actually exists and a delusional belief in a god that doesn't exist?_
