When I was finished, I told them I didn’t need them anymore and they couldn’t believe it. I sent them a thank you note. I bet I’m the only one in history to send a thank you note for Food Stamps. For real! When I had food stamps, it was a pain to get them, a pain to keep them, and they weren't enough. But when I got a job (min wage) to try to make ends meet, they cut my food stamps off. I have an autistic son so it's hard to keep a job because of the odd hours I had to work around his appointments and his school time ect.... and the only way out was when I got married and had someone who could flip flop schedules with me so someone was always available to care for him. I literally couldn't work a part time min wage job and still qualify for food stamps. And I definitely didn't qualify after I got married even though he had 2 kids and I had 2 kids. I worked part time and was a college student, he worked full time and was a college student. Now I just stay home and manage the kids and the house and the appointments and school stuff and he works 60-70 hours a week. We manage so we don't need food stamps anymore thankfully but I'm STILL on a wait list to get social security disability for my son's 4 specialists he sees! People like this are one if the reasons we can't get proper assistance!

@@spiritualempress6691 girl exactly! My first husband abused the hell out of me and I literally couldn't get away. We were so isolated and he would even lock us in a room, take my cell and the homephone line, and take my car and drive off for 3 days after abusing me. The reason why he would do that and come back 3 days later was because at the time we were living in New Mexico and they couldn't prosecute domestic violence if it wasn't reported with in 3 days. I couldn't even so much as go grocery shopping without him monitoring me. Couldnt even go down a single isle on my own. And any protective order the state set during the couple times I found a way to call 911, his mom would help him break and assisted in keeping me from calling the cops when she would bring him to me. It wasn't until one day ONCE AGAIN she brought him over to help me with the kids (please... he never did that but she always enabled him) and he started a fight AGAIN and grabbed my hair and shoved my face into the door frame and tried to slam the door on me when his mom told him to let me go. He then shoved me down, picked up our daughter who was only 2 weeks old at the time and slammed her down into her bassinet (I got her checked out, she thankfully was perfectly fine), and he then started yelling how he was going to burn the house down with all of us in it. And he indeed started multiple fires in the house. While his mom was following him around putting out those fires (ironic because that was their whole relationship anyway), he was distracted and I managed to grab my kids and run out the house and get them buckled in the car. When I realized this was my chance to run forever, I grabbed a tall laundry basket and ran back into the house to fill it with whatever I could for the kids. Diapers, wipes, pull ups, warm clothes, socks and shoes, bottles and sippy cups, blankets, my son's pillows and his small container of cars and of course his favorite stuffy and small blanket, and my breast pump as well as my accordion folder with our documents were what I managed to grab after 3 trips back and forth. I realized I was pushing my luck and this would get us through for a little bit until I came up woth a better plan. I just loaded up the trunk and my front passenger seat when I saw him open the door with a big ass knife and he ran down the stairs and got to my car just as I was able to lock the door. He started throwing his body weight against my window so I put it in reverse and he shouted NOO while jumping on my car and grabbing my mirror. I made it halfway down the driveway (imagine farm house in the middle of nowhere but actually a double wide trailer so sort of long driveway) and I stopped and waited a little bit because his mom was still in there and he had ran back inside so I had no idea what he would do to her. After a few minutes, I see her running down to her car too and gave me a hand signal to go while she was on the phone.... apparently calling the cops herself. She got into her car and he ran after her also jumping on her car and trying to break her window. He looks up and sees my car up the drive and yelled "fuck you" and I started driving away again with his mom behind me. Then out of freakin nowhere, he jumped right in front of her car and she ran over his leg! She thankfully had the sense to keep driving. There was a small standoff but he eventually surrendered and was taken via ambulance. Turns out he was just a pussy because his ankle wasn't even bruised but he was trying to avoid arrest and flip it on me even though his mom was who ran him over after he JUMPED in front of HER car! His mom let me use her phone and I called for help from my family in Texas and they came out and helped me move our stuff from the house since he was being held on a 1 day psych hold because he threatened suicide. But they let him go AGAIN because he admitted to the doc that he was lying and just trying to manipulate the situation. They didn't even press charges until like a week or so later! But we managed to get all of the kids stuff and half of my stuff out of the house and we were driving out of the state the day he got released. I literally had to escape death when he didn't start abusing me until AFTER we were married. We were best friends for nearly a decade and he was never a violent person as far as I knew. He had a good job and I had a good job as well as being college educated! We had no trouble affording the kids between our income. It wasn't until literally a day or so after we got married is when he first started putting hands on me. And it wasn't until his first arrested that we lost all our income because he dragged me by my car on a very public street and a ton of people were witness to it so he got fired because of domestic abuse charges and one felony child abuse charge and he went to jail. So I decided to move somewhere else but then after I moved, I realized I couldn't work my job anymore because where would my kids go now? Which meant my income was also gone. I was able to get assistance but it wasn't enough and like I said, his mom would enable him and bring him to my new place! He even once listed it as his residence for his ankle monitor so I couldn't be in my own home because there was a protection order and the court refused to listen when I told them that was MY residence. They instead told me to take my kids and go somewhere else! I ended up temporarily staying at his moms apartment because I had nowhere else to go. He emptied my bank account, stole my food stamps and TANF even took my WIC! And it all happened with in a few months when he didn't do any of that before our marriage! So when I finally could flee, I had nothing but what I could fit in my car and had to start all over in another state which meant needing government assistance. That I ended up losing when I got a part time min wage job! These benefits ate meant to be temporary assistance. And that's how many of us treat it. Then there are terrible people like this lady who makes us all look like lazy irresponsible people when in reality, stuff happened TO us that cha get our circumstances! And I said in my first comment, we are making it by without food stamps and such. And the social security I applied for on behalf of my 14 year old autistic son who has the possibility of being semi independent but he will never be able to manage money, drive a car, or properly pay bills which is what the social security and ARC and AACOG in San Antonio are there for they help with assisted living for the special needs community and help those higher functioning like my son, be able to get a job with companies sensitive to the special needs community. It's a 10 year long waiting list for services and it's been over a year since I applied for social security disability (it's separate tha the other services) and even that case hasn't moved! Because of awful people like this woman.

Judge Boyd is known for being strict, but she is also fair and impartial. She represents the idea of equal justice, which is rare in most courts. Unlike other Judges, who often see defendants as hopeless cases, Judge Boyd genuinely cares about the people she deals with and wants to help them improve. Her approach is a great example of how a Judge should fulfill their duties. It's unfortunate that many Judges are biased and unfair, treating defendants as a burden on society, which contributes to high rates of repeat offenses.

TAIP - Treatment Alternative to Incarceration Program
When a judge in Texas orders a TAP evaluation for an offender, it means the court wants a thorough assessment to determine the individual's specific needs and risks. The Texas Assessment of Program Services (TAP) evaluates which educational, vocational, or treatment programs would be most beneficial for the offender. The aim is to guide the court's decisions, focusing on rehabilitation and reducing the likelihood of reoffending. The TAP evaluation is a multi-faceted process that usually involves interviews, psychological assessments, and a review of the offender's criminal history, among other factors. The evaluation aims to provide the court with a holistic view of the offender's needs, strengths, and weaknesses, thereby enabling the justice system to tailor its approach to that individual's rehabilitation.

The second gentleman and I use the term lightly is a poor excuse for a human being, I'm a 30 year plus law enforcement officer and I have had a few interactions with this gentleman and he deserves to be in prison.

Prison, or your pension; We cant afford both...? It's "crazy", hkw everyone thinks of prisons as this magical fantasy world, that make all the problem people "dissappear"...? While, in reality, they are ever growimg ses pools of disease, that cost more $ to operate annually, than tax revenue coming in...DOC is literally up to their necks in low/mid level offenders (Never surrendered "War on drugs"), that they don't habe room for the truely heinous of those among us...The first case is a perfect example...She isn't going to stop using drugs. What then??? That's right; More overcrowding of already overflowing jail cells...Jidge Boyd is right; Complete waste of a UA, and all the other crap she orders...

His attorney is trash for trying to vouch for him right after he gave the judge the middle finger. I hope the parole board makes his sentences consecutive.

That lawyer is constantly wearing "cold shoulder" tops while in court. I can't believe Judge Boyd hasn't called her out on such unprofessional attire. Every single time I've seen her in court, her shoulders are exposed and she is not dressed in a professional manner for Federal Court!

Thank you for the great effort you put into this case, as well as others! Your updates and explanations are accurate and easy to understand. I also appreciate that you don't speak over the videos, unlike some others. Moreover, you keep the comments on the screen long enough for me to read, and the large font size is a blessing for my poor old eyes
