- Wawa is an uber popular convenience store in the Mid Atlantic states of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, parts of Maryland, Virginia, and most recently in The Orlando and Tampa regions of Florida.
One of the unique features of Wawa is the means to custom order anything from their delicatessen using the touch pad screen interface depicted in the video. They have been in operation for about a decade or so now and I personally find them an expedient means to place an order.
I love when the sandwich is done and the sound effect with the trumpet starts blaring throughout the store like ordering the sandwich was this awesome achievement.
I admit, it's "a nice touch". :-D
Lol. I was like dang nooo.
I love this video, I’ve been using it since last year haha. I use it every time someone asks me what I want from Wawa cause I always get the same thing but I forget what the machine has to offer. So THANK YOU!! These other comments taking about “why make this video”... this video is very helpful!
Thank You so much for the "high praise"! When I recorded it nearly 6 years ago, I did it on a whim as I realized after living in Lake Tahoe, California for a spell that there was no counterpart to what Wawa offered like this. When these touchscreens were first introduced at Wawa stores almost 20 years ago {2002}, they were very 'ahead of the curve' in this department. I recall one-time presidential candidate and politician Mitt Romney being in awe of them while 'touring' a Wawa several years ago.
hahah same!!
Oh yeah, so much better than talking. 😂
this was helpful to me! thanks
Beautiful!
Took me a bit to figure their system out. 😂

.....why did you make this video?
Why not? Anyway, using a touchscreen to place orders at a convenience store was something of a 'novelty' at the time I recorded it.
See this video was helpful to me because I asked a friend to pick up a hoagie for me but I forgot my options! So this video was super helpful!
Glad to hear it!
I love the sound it makes when you tap it.
... That's what she said.
Don't use your fingernail for these glass touch screens. The fingernail isn't actually what's registering, it's the conductivity of your skin. Since you're trying with your fingernail, it's not a consistent touch and either not registering, or registering multiple taps, like when it immediately adds salad after you selected the cheese.
Oh yes, It is truly "A Work in Progress" as I have refined my personal technique in touch screen interfacing since then. I am cognizant of the principles behind their operation and recall when some of the first screen interfaces were actually based on a pressure oriented input as opposed to the type of touch screens we have come to know and love today which work on a standpoint of yes, bio-electrical conductivity.
I just dont get the Wawa hype. People are like "Wawa is so much better than Sheetz!" but how can it be? I have never been to Wawa, but I look at people ordering and it appears that Wawa only has like sandwiches and drinks. Sheetz has everything. Sunday afternoon my daughtered ordered a huge quesarito, my wife got a turkey sub, my son got a slice of pizza and I got a meatball sub. We also got Wisconsin cheddar bites. I just don't see how a place that only has sandwiches can compete with that.
+vaibanez17 I've been to Sheetz a few times, they are a decent convenience store in their own right. Wawa has a pretty diversified selection of offerings - Cheesesteaks, Pizzasteaks, assorted hoagies, paninis, quesadillas, focaccia pizza, etc. Here's a link to their offerings:

Well you should go to wawa's. It's like a food convenience store that's sells a lot of different of foods like meatball subs, soups, mac and cheese, chicken, and a whole lot more.
wawa has a everything. Its not just a hoagie spot. Its a gas station/ smoothie/ sandwich/ best coffee/ not expensive place. Wawa is basically the best place on earth
they dont only have sandwiches in the kitchen either. They have the best mac and cheese and the mashed potatoes are good too. Your missing out
"I have never been to Wawa" Then how can you judge a place you've never been to?
