It is sad, but kindness is often regarded as weakness by others.
we must respect and help another human of course. but the elephant in the room is this - does canada have a border or not? do we accept anyone who comes to our border and say they want to live here? to this my opinion is no.... of course not.
I'm grateful to live in a country that will aid those who are struggling for a better life. Anyone who would fight that hard to get here from halfway around the world will make a proud, strong Canadian.

A refugee is someone fleeing a country of war. Obviously, this man is crossing the border from America to Canada. Last I checked, America isn't a war-torn country. He is already in a safe place, fleeing from the States doesn't make you a refugee.

We are extremely fortunate to live here, and I am beyond happy to share this land with people who need to find home. Refugees fleeing war torn countries, and now, fleeing a country which will send them straight back there, are coming to us as a last hope for a new life. And when we offer it to them, and welcome them, our economy grows and we all benefit. When we took in the 50,000 Vietnamese in the late 70's/early 80's, we gained a bolstered community of doctors, lawyers, and teachers. And now, those very communities are helping pay it forward by personally sponsoring Syrian refugees. And even our newest refugees and embraced the Canadian way and raised money, some donating their entire, meagre monthly allowance, to help the survivors of the Fort McMurray fires.
Our country is growing. Growing stronger, kinder, more diverse, and more understanding. In the face of government-driven terror in our southern neighbours, many people believe in the unfounded lies that strangers will try to harm us and our way of life. But the proof is in the reality of welcoming refugees; we are here to help them, and they are here to help us.
I am proud to be an example to the world that kindness can make you stronger, not weaker and more vulnerable.
Anyone who disagrees with immigration and refugees should get on a ship back to Europe and leave the land to the original owners; the First Nations. If you don't, you have no right to claim that anyone else should leave.

Do these people realize that living in Canada isn't an easy ride. My parents live in a small rundown apartment. My dad worked in a factory for 45 years to keep his family warm and fed. Both my mom and dads parents faught the Nazis in world war 2. Health Care isn't free. It costs a fortune in taxes. There are so many people born in Canada suffering because they can't afford mental health and many other types of prescriptions. What bothers me is that once these refugees get here, there expectation is that Canada owes them everything. And if you think that's bs talk to people who lived and went to school with refugees from war zones. They expect a very high standard of living.

i have a lot of respect for Canada, thats why i say to this illegal scum bag "GET THE HELL OUT OF MY COUNTRY" if they actually WANT to come to Canada, and want to LIVE in Canada, they should go through the two years struggle my parents did to come here, he needs to pay for a visa, go through the immigration interview, prove he is not a criminal, find work in Canada, go to the citizenship ceremony, and then support HIMSELF in Canada. We should not take people who are going to be a DEPENDENCY LOAD.

There are so many things going on here that it's hard to truly express them all. First, I admire how brave a person must be to risk everything in order to seek a better life in a place that has more opportunity. Second, I'm worried not just for the health of those who try to cross in this way but also for those who have to stumble on the ones who don't make it. Third, I worry that those who cross in this fashion will be treated badly by our citizens because despite our reputation; Canada does have our share of close minded folks who can't see it from another person's perspective. And lastly, I worry that this will impact our ability to take in refugees who have gone through the proper channels. I'd like to think that we can accommodate all refugees that make the effort to get here but I just don't know. ~ Cory

My girlfriend and I actually do donate quite a bit of food to refugees who need it and try to help in whatever ways we can. This person isn't near me but I hope that someone has the means help him and has the heart to do so.

Did he not sneak in to America , I am confused on the refugees and immigration , if someone or a group is assisting them to get in a country,why are they not feeding them and making sure they are taken care of,The people helping them then leaving them stranded should be held accountable .They should not do this leaving them homeless.

I'm a Canadian now, claimed refuge status at the airport getting out of the plane. First thing the officer told me is " don't worry everything is going to be fine, Canadians are good people, they are going to help you." she said that because she was born in Colombia but ended up here. I'm here married after 15 years, citizen. Been working every single day since then. Only thing that stopped me was the pandemic for a month. That's all I asked for, a job and feeling secure. Most of this people just want to be an active member of society. I didn't speak any English or French at the time. It was hard. But I feel like what stops this people from being successful here is burocracy and not willingness. They have seen and suffer everything. All they want is to live in peace not your tax money. Being able to work like once I did. I have deep respect for Canada, and I work everyday on being a pride to canada too. 🇨🇦
I feel sorry for these people I truly do. However the problem is that we are years behind on our legal immigration and what has happened is we can no longer take care of people who are here illegally. We can no longer support them and give them welfare while they have not been vetted and are a danger to the people who are here legally. This is the most generous country in the world but what has happened is the situation is out of control.The Mexican border is a nightmare. Mexico is being run by drug cartels and gangsters trafficking human beings and every evil thing you can imagine. Canada is a backdoor and as you can see these people who are leaving are here illegally . This guy was in process with the immigration people and they were trying to make a decision about what to do with him. He is in trouble in his own country for something and he does not want to go back. That would leave America to do the research of why he can't go back then while he is here waiting he will be taken care of better then the citizens that live here. What happens is these people disappear the next thing you know there is a whole family here illegally. Right now we need to catch up. These people are not asking for asylum. They are asking for escape. We need to know from what. There are already too many that have not been vetted.
