Biggest reason a lot of us aren't getting sales is because we're an unknown author. People don't know who we are, and often they have their favorite author, such as Stephen King or Christopher Paolini. If you're an unknown author you're bound to be passed up to the next person. Such as during my paid promotion last week, one book only got 25 purchases, and another only got 7. I find that the biggest hindrance to actually starting to get better sales is from the few people that do buy the book, for some reason they don't seem to ever want to leave a review, which does not help to attempt to get a foothold in the market. Either way, it's bound to come back to being either a new self published author, or an unknown author. Another problem I had was with the cover designers, they got to the point where they didn't want to do fixes on the covers, and I would have to fight with them to attempt to get them to do just one fix to improve the quality and the look of the cover. I write Fantasy books on Amazon, dragon riders books. Salem And The Sphinx War.
About Ads as a marketing tool, as an Amazon customer I SKIP any sponsored book or product when I’m looking for something. I avoid them by principle. I’m pretty sure that many people are like me. So I wonder how to push my sales with no ads, at least for now, I’m just learning to do s.p. correctly.
By utilising many of the Social Media platforms like RUclips, Facebook, Instagram and TikTok you can market your book outside of Amazon Ads but in my opinion, they are still the best and most direct method to increase book sales.
I published my first KDP book last week, and have been underwhelmed by the sales so far. Maybe I had unrealistic expectations, and perhaps i need to be a little more patient. Thank you for the tips.
I have more than 200 books on KDP and sales but I never get paid by amazon every time i go to my back end things are never ok its always my bank info is not correct acording to kdp but every time i put the same info that is correct and get their check mark but never get paid since 2020 not a good company I just dont make books anymore
My books are slowly selling. I find in my ads that the books labeled ‘keywords’ are selling. Does that mean they are selling organically and the ads have nothing to do with the sales?
I don't have the look inside feature in my books for some reason and all 3 are high content. I already sent an email to KPD because that is enabled automatically is that correct?
@@globalselfpublishing well if you check all the books now don't have that feature. My youngest book is 3 months old. I'm not sure what's happening. They all used to have it
If you are only selling paperbacks and not ebooks, they will not put the look inside. I am presuming the A+ content is meant to replace the need for it.
If on a tight budget, I recommend my Udemy Course on Amazon Advertising: bit.ly/RomneyNelson-AmazonAdsCourse If you want 1:1 coaching and advice on marketing, that could be arranged but will be at a fixed USD hour cost.

Your expectations are WAY TOO HIGH! 1 week is way, way too short.

I can certainly appreciate your frustration. They are very hard to deal with at times.

Always hard to say without seeing your Ads and impressions from those campaigns

Yes, usually after 10 business days.
