One of the Best Amps in the Helix - FRIEDMAN BEOD - Best Marshall Tones?

- For my Presets visit: johnnathancord... Many folks have small battles with the Marshalls of the Helix - since Line 6 tend to base their models on real world examples of these amps - when it turns out that some of them have been modified, or are transition models, or don't have bright caps - it can be a bit tricky if you have a really specific Marshall tone in mind. The Placater Dirty - or the Friedman BEOD in real life - is a two channel model that actually probably does a better classic Marshall high gain tone in my opinion than some of the actual Marshalls...

In addition to insane playing skills you definitely also demonstrate fantastic skills in the areas of guitar tone, composition and arrangement, AND producing/engineering
Friedman are my no.1 tube amps. And their pedals are great too.
Nice “Police” style chorus and other 80’s tones btw, and some super grooves. Right up my alley 🙂
A Stomp version would be great.

Super helpful. Thanks man. Too much 'sizzle' and string noise for my use case, but I tried the Placater clean and it fits what I need a lot better. Please keep doing these, they're the best. I sit and walk through with you with my stomp and it really helps me to use the thing.

I love the Placater Dirty for hard rock tones, but I can't get it to clean up enough with humbuckers to make it truly usable on my POD Go for live situations.
I don't usually think 'cupid and psyche' era scritti politti backing tracks when I hear Friedman amps. Nice!
Play that 8 string guitar with this one. LOve when you do stuff like at 2:08 til you stop. Those Chirping Slides are so distinctive to your playing, honestly I do not know of anyone for sure who does it like this, really all your own artistry. Also sounds like you are switching off and on an Octavia device/effect/pedal,?? I am sure the helix has this device in it, most modellers do. Or a Doubler effect??

Hi ! Amazing playing and composing as always! Unfortunately though I have a major GAS on k-line guitars now, thanks to you..anyway ordering them from a builder himself is something waaay out of my budget. I’m from EU, wondering if you could point me on some of those “forums” you mentioned where I could maaaybe snipe a used one.

I can't find the preset FriedFullHelix in the lead folder (v3.15). Or is it elsewhere? Oh, and yeah, the Placater is my favorite and go-to amp in the Helix.
