Omar J. Dorsey (born December 22, 1975) is an American actor. He has appeared in films The Blind Side (2009), Django Unchained (2012), and Selma (2014) playing James Orange. In 2016, Dorsey began starring as Hollingsworth "Hollywood" Desonier in the Oprah Winfrey Network drama series Queen Sugar.
Dorsey played small parts in a number of films early in his career, including Juwanna Mann, Starsky & Hutch, and The Blind Side.[1] In 2012, he co-starred in Django Unchained.[2] On television, he guest-starred on ER, The Shield, The Mentalist, Castle, Rizzoli & Isles, and NCIS. He had recurring roles in the Showtime drama Ray Donovan as Cookie Brown, the Fox comedy-drama Rake, and the HBO comedy Eastbound & Down.[3][4]
In 2014, Dorsey played Civil Rights Movement activist James Orange in the historical drama film Selma directed by Ava DuVernay.[5] In 2016, DuVernay cast Dorsey in her drama series Queen Sugar for Oprah Winfrey Network.[6][7] Dorsey appears as Sherriff Barker in the horror films Halloween, Halloween Kills, and Halloween Ends.[8]

Omar your role in Queen Sugar is supreme divine and much needed. It’s a black man being vulnerable, emotional, a protector, chivalrous, a caring son and father. Omar I have teenage and 24 and 30yr olds and they rather watch drama reality tv with no substance. Any ideas to get them motivated? Queen Sugar is a black family working through their problems and issues with love and meaning that sooo wholesome. Funky Friday is the dopest podcast on net. Keep doing the dopiest interviews on net. As Black men in America, I believe the more we discuss the tricks and traps that this society has created to trip us up, then the better we will be able to navigate through this life. Any opportunities that Black men find to converse with one another, and share our experiences both common and unique, we should do so. Brother to brother conversations (especially ones that are not contrived or planned) can be very therapeutic. We have the capacity to heal and provide positive guidance and direction to each other. And God is causing this exact thing to become manifest. If a brother man is ever in the presence of another who doesn't have your best interest at heart...not to worry, because GAME RECOGNIZE GAME.
