I recently had an unfortunate accident with my landlords cooker that was giving off high levels of carbon monoxide, my 2daughters and my grandaughter had been very ill, had ambulances out fire bridge and gas emergency service, and i was taken into hospital with very high level of carbon monoxide, thankfully my daughters and grandaughter were fine with only small levels, i only spent a day in hospital and im now doing fine, my cooker on the other hand was condemned and now we wait for landlady to get a new one, untill then we can't cook food, but thankfully I have very good neighbours and they brought round their gourmia air fryer, and they gave me the recipe book but it didn't explain how to use the buttons, then found your amazing video that explains everything for me, thankyou it has been so so helpful. Thank you so much for that. Unfortunately I tried that and I still can’t get it to change. It just flashes and then switches to the time. Do you have the same model? I wonder if it doesn’t work on this particular model...
The only downside is do not follow any of the cooking directions that come with this. It recommends to cook damn near everything at 400 degrees and it burns everything to a crisp! I have found that you can set it at 340 degrees at 15 minutes and chicken and pork chops come out perfect!
This was very helpful. Thank you so much! Excellent video, not any minutes spent with you just talking about completely irrelevant things. Right to the point and very informative. Thank you so much!
Thanks for your video, I bought mine 2 days ago in Costco and the spring rolls, fries and mini pizzas came out so delicious in a very short time. Absolutely fantastic. I really recommend this Gourmia Air Fryer.
Hi there! My daughter and her husband gifted me with their used Gourmia Air Fryer. I appreciate your instructional video. You have made it so clear on how I can get this up and running! Thank you so very much. 😃
I just got my Gourmia Air Fryer from PriceSmart, the 7.6 l version, and I'm impressed. It can be set to Celsius or Fahrenheit (by holding the Time/Temp button before starting a preset).
I really liked your explanations. It definitely is trial and error for timing the cooking. Important to stress the sequence of pressing the buttons for the correct timing and temperature, including the preheat and turn buttons.
Thank you for your detailed demonstration! We bought this unit yesterday and found the timer settings confusing. Seemed to be setting seconds, which made no sense with a 4 digit placement screen. You showed us how it works. Their instruction booklet could be better. But, first time we used it for chicken drumsticks it was perfect!

I just replaced my Power XL air fryer that died on me after 5yrs with this same Gourmia model for $49.99. The Power XL cost me over $100.00 5yrs ago and it wasn’t nearly as good as the Gourmia! The Gourmia is much quieter, cooks more thoroughly and in half the time of the Powe XL! Also, the Gourmia’s parts are much easier to remove and wash in the sink or dish washer. The Power XL’s internal bottom is attached to the basket making it a much more difficult and dirty job to clean it. Don’t waste your money on overpriced advertised on TV air fryers when you can buy the Gourmia for just under 60 bucks with tax and delivery that works much better!
That's awesome, i'm glad you like it! But in all fairness, airfryers were fairly new and expensive 5 years ago, tech has come a long way and evolves so fast, we still have our Philips air fryer sitting in the cupboard and that was loud and a pain to clean too! Thanks for sharing your experience!
When you turn food half way, do you press END first or just pull it out? Also I noticed the rack has four rubber parts on it, should I remove them? It’s kind of hard to put it in the basket with the rubber parts on and I am not sure if they can stand high temperature. Thanks!
Those are silicone and are there to help the tray supposedly stay in when emptying food, and I never had to bend anything to set the tray in. You may have to adjust a little though.
@dorothea1111 Hopefully you figured it out by now, you can just open the basket, the air fryer will pause automatically and resume when you insert the basket. The silicone tabs stay on. Tilt the tray and then it's easier to insert.
According to Google if you hold the temperature/timer button for about 3 seconds it'll swap between C/F. Mine is currently cooking something but I'll check back and let you know if it works!
Since i sliced my chicken breast into two, they became thin, so it only took 5 mins (flipping partway). But if it's a normal full size thick piece, 8-10 mins will be better (flip partway). hope that helps.😊

what dishwashing soap brand will clean the crisper tray inside the basket the best, and fastest? when i don't use foil to put my chicken in, the chicken fats and grease tend to stick everywhere. what's the best dishwashing liquid that will cut thru that stuck on stuff?
I've only ever used Dawn Dish soap and washed by hand and it comes clean every time. I never use any foil or liners, they defeat the purpose of using the air fryer. I have often been lazy and left it to clean the next day. In that case I would let it soak for an hour or so in hot water and dawn soap, and it comes right off. I've got the same model as you. I've just started using it but I have a question.........when The recipe book says to use "two table spoons of oil" , where do I put the oil?
Yes, for sure. Be sure to wrap the foil tight so it doesn't fly around inside and potentially hit the heating element. Also, I'm not sure, but I have a feeling wrapping fish in tin foil may create water from the fish.... i think...
Not intentionally. I rotated it and it fit in fine. I didn't have any problems getting it in so I didn't realize I needed to address it. After a handful of comments, it was suggested to angle it first then lower it down inot the basket.
To change to Fahrenheit...hold down the temp/time button for a few seconds . That was the first thing I needed to figure out. So far I'm happy with it.
Does anyone make a multi-tier rack w/ a handle on top? Many recipes recommend turning 1/2 way through, but w/ a hot pan and 2 tiers of food (using accessory rack) it is almost impossible to get the rack out so that you can access and turn the food underneath without either cooking your digits or getting a mitt super greasy.
no, they are there to protect your basket from getting scratched when you take it in and out. Leave them on. If you're struggling to put the tray in, angle it sideways then lay it down.
No, no, they're there to prevent the tray from scratching the sides of the basket because you'll slide it in and out all the time for cleaning etc. Keep them on. 😊
I don’t think so, cleaning the basket is very easy. Just hot water and dish soap. Soak overnight if u really need to but everything always comes off easily.
you can select a preset and then adjust the temperature by pressing the + and - buttons, or you can power on the air fryer then immediately select the temp + and - buttons to change it.
If they are room temperature and not too big, cook at 400F for about 18-20 minutes. If straight from the fridge cook at 390F for about 22-25 mins. Hope that helps.
was there a different outcome in the finish of your food between using the "AirFry" setting versus the "Fries" setting ? So I've done the carrot sticks bit a couple times using "AirFry" and each time they came out dry and sometimes tough. I do coat them with olive oil - but still they come out dry. Any tips would help.
Air fry will dry out veggies fast, the Fries setting is also using air fry mode. For air frying veggies, cook on lower temp, 375-380 for 15-18 mins at most, depends on how thick the carrot stick are. Also, for veggies, select roast, that will cook at a slightly lower temp and reduce the air flow, preventing drying out. Same with bake. Hope that helps
I wonder IF I will like the fried foods without oil. Like the fries, do t hey still have taste? Can you spray them with some oil and does that help? Same with other foods. I like Not using a lot of oil, but none seems like it would ruin some foods. You did a great job, I will come back !!
@deborah lariscy. yes, I usually spray my fries with some oil, otherwise they dry out very fast! I always add a little oil to all my foods (1-2 tablespoons can make a big difference)
Just used mine for the first time. I cooked Thai style chicken wings two tiers worth. I found that if you like lots of flavour like me and pre marinate then the pre set wings setting is not that good as the top tier burnt. I recommend manual setting of about 170 to 180c for 30 mins. Inside was so juicy 😋😋
Some people said they can't change to Fahrenheit, my steps were: 1) Plug-in and press the middle light button 2) Press and hold the middle Temp/Time button for 5 seconds (I even tried it with only pressing the bottom half of "Time' to see if it made a difference, it didn't and still worked) 3) Beeps then shows 200C or 400F.

Is it worthwhile to get silicone liners for the basket, like those sold on Amazon? Or is it easy enough to wash the basket?
I don’t think so, cleaning the basket is very easy. Just hot water and dish soap. Soak overnight if u really need to but everything always comes off easily.
Recently received one as a gift and this video has been useful.
that's awesome, glad i could help!
TO TURN CELSIUS TO Fahrenheit :
By holding time/temp button before preheating.
Unfortunately that doesn't work on this particular model but thank you anyway! 😊
Can I use parchment paper in the basket instead of oil mist
I wouldn't recommend it, will block heat circulation.
This was very helpful. Thank you.
You're welcome
I got mine at target but the rack is not included😔
Yeah same here
@@pearlexi Check out Amazon they have racks
Check out Amazon they have racks
How can I manually change the temperature?
you can select a preset and then adjust the temperature by pressing the + and - buttons, or you can power on the air fryer then immediately select the temp + and - buttons to change it.
Pls what should I press that will enable the other icons to show and stay? It will just pop up and disappear immediately
Thanks for the info, I just purchased the same Gormia air fryer and everyday I'm cooking something in it. You've given me some good ideas. 👍
Awesome! Glad I could help!
For bone in thighs what temperature and for how long
If they are room temperature and not too big, cook at 400F for about 18-20 minutes. If straight from the fridge cook at 390F for about 22-25 mins. Hope that helps.
It has rubber stopper s do I keep them on?? *x
Yes, they are silicone, they will prevent scratching the basket every time you put in and takeout the crisper tray.
was there a different outcome in the finish of your food between using the "AirFry" setting versus the "Fries" setting ?
I spray with some oil and it’s great. Don’t be discouraged it’s one of the best things
Thanks for sharing
We bought one from Japan and brought here in the Philippines. Can we use it to 220v? Thanks
I'm not sure, you would need to check the voltage requirement in Philippines or get a converter.
excellent review those drumsticks looked amazing
Thank you! Yes, they were absolutely delicious - I kid you not!!
Do you need to put it for 20 minutes? I put my nuggets in for about 5 minutes and it was nice and crisp
ohh. that quick? my nuggets usually take about 10 mins...
Thank you for a well done how to use air fryer video....
Your welcome! Glad it was helpful!
How do I get the manual, there was none
It should have come in the box, otherwise you can get all the manuals on the Gourmia website. You will need to search the model you have.
The rubber ends on the crisper tray doesn't have to be removed? will it not burn?
They are silicone. Don’t remove them otherwise the tray will scratch the basket as you put it in and out.
@@MeemReviews ohh thanks haha I forgot silicone exists
Some people said they can't change to Fahrenheit, my steps
were:
1) Plug-in and press the middle light button 2) Press and
hold the middle Temp/Time button for 5 seconds (I even
tried it with only pressing the bottom half of "Time' to see if it
made a difference, it didn't and still worked) 3) Beeps then
shows 200C or 400F.
Thank you, it doesn't work on this particular model, but the newer one.
Can you cook eggs in it , like over easy or?
Never tried it, it's quicker to do it on the stove.
Thank you so much. I received one for Christmas and Maw-In-Law said it had better get used 😟😊
You're welcome! LOL, I hope you're enjoying it!!
My minus sign is not lit on my new Gourmia.... Is that a common problem?
Question about the crisper tray has 4 rubber tabs. Do I remove them and throw them away? The crisper tray doesn't goes down if I leave them on.
You should leave them on, they are silicone. Twist it slightly. Or wash it and the basket with hot water first. See if that helps.
I’m having the same problem with my new air fryer! I haven’t been able to use it because I can’t get the crisper in the basket. After washing it before it’s first use, I struggled and finally gave up
I had the same issue with getting the crisper in. Then I tried putting it in at an angle at first and then it seated well.
Put it in at an angle.😅
I got mine at Walmart, 4 qt., it doesn't have a multi purpose rack. It this something you buy separate?
I got this from Costco perhaps it was an exclusive for Costco only and it came with a multipurpose rack but you can buy these from Amazon or even the dollar store
