@VladVexlerChat I think his arrest is about looking for someone to blame for Russia's failures & to of course take out opposing factions. The truth is all these factions' were created by Putin & the Russian Government & they served a huge purpose in 2014 go try & give the perception of a partisan uprising fighting against a tyrannical Ukraine Government. After Putin openly declared his second Invasion he no longer need that perception & all these partisans where no longer important. I really don't think this says anything about Russian Culture though because that muntity was something you'd never see allowed in Western Run Nations meaning those Governments are more strict in reality. Hell just look at what happened in America when people tried to protest the rigged Election. They killed an unarmed Navy Veteran & got away with it. Im actually surprised it took this long to silence Girkin but I don't think it will have much effect on the War. Maybe it will cause some Russian Citizens to not accept the War but only a Defeat of Russia & pushing them out of Ukraine militarily is going to solve this.
I'm an American who greatly appreciates what you do. Your teachings have most definitely opened my eyes to the radically different Russian government and political underworld as well as giving me a peek into the mind of how the average Russian feels about all of this. Thank you, sir.
When Girkin and his militants shot down a plane with innocent passengers, including 16 children, Russia did not consider him a criminal, and not a single criminal case was initiated against him. As soon as Girkin doubted the power of the dictator, Putler's cunning servants immediately opened a criminal case against him. This is for you as an example of what modern Russia is like. You can be a murderer, a scum terrorist, a child molester, and you will get nothing for it if you are loyal to the authorities. And if not, then all possible criminal cases will be brought against you.
Vladolf will be next. Maybe not now, maybe not tomorrow, but he will be next. That's the destiny of a war criminal. Especially now when Russia is going down. A peace agreement is only possible if these criminals are arrested and handed over to some special court. Justice must prevail otherwise it's all for nothing.
You accidentally said Prigozhin instead of Girkin several times while reading Girkins remarks. You made my head spin a little. I guess when humans turn into comic book villains in real life they are hard to differentiate.
The western services have been thinking about the Girkin phenomenon for a long time. How is it possible that in a country where you can be arrested or pay a fine for one inappropriate comment insulting the Russian authorities on vKontakte or Telegram... there is a person who does it with impunity for several months. Have you thought about it? Girkin has never attacked Patrushev and Bortnikov, the former and current head of the FSB... it was different with Alexeyev, the head of the GRU. There may also be some people behind them who are temporarily unknown by the names. Apparently, that's how he has protection and that's how he plays his game. The Hague and honorable service to the fatherland in previous conflicts are not enough here. I wouldn't be surprised if it turned out that such people like Igor play the role of a catalyst, gathers the dissatisfied around him, but does not call for a revolution... on the contrary - he keeps repeating about "Smuta" and presents his club as a possible advisory body for the current authorities. He insures, secures (like the institution in which he serves / served) the highest authorities, gathering around him various "patriots" dangerous for the power, whom he "civilizes" (Kvatchkov has not succeeded so far, maybe, apparently someone else is paying him) and turns back from the path that is dangerous for the broadly understood Kremlin. As they say - "good agent"... and that's why he's still alive, regardless of how much it costs to protect his "honorable" person and what escort he shows up at some meetings. Later, he raves about the club's financial problems... and the russian people can't connect the dots, but all in all, this whole circus is also for us, for us - the western partners. ;) I think Girkin did his job well. It is significant how Girkin's narrative has changed in the last few weeks, so suddenly... after several months when he distanced himself from direct criticism of the russian president. For the time being, his mission has been completed, dangerous people remain under observation, and "Colonel Girkin" himself is resting after the task, in one of the recreation centers belonging to the FSB (FSS). Girkin, Prigozhyn - both have done their job... now the services are controlling all those who have not revealed themselves so far. Putler is safe, there will be no any revolution. Kind Regards - S.

We all get your point, but you need add at least one qualification to differentiate Russia from the west, where very similar attitudes are held - 'the rich and powerful are above the law, and it is all but illegal to be poor.' That qualification is to note that in the west, broadly, this is a bug in the system which the elite exploit but democratic institutions work to close (admittedly anemicly). In Russia, it is a feature with which the elite and the institutions they control have no intention of dispensing, regardless of any concept of the will of the people.
I listened to a conscript from eastern Russia explaining to his wife in a phone call that he could not send money to his wife for food because had not been paid. He said this was the same for all the conscripts in his unit. The MoD is playing with fire by not paying the troops. This alone can destabilize the Russian forces in Ukraine. Armed men who feel their families are at risk of starvation just might turn on the armies command structure.
Yet they don't. They simply try to drown their impotence in more alcohol and wait to be bombed or shot. Inexplicably they implore their relatives to write to Putler to "let him know what is going on" so he will make it right. Their self-inflicted delusion is simply astounding. Haven't watched the video yet, maybe will leave an additional comment later. I live in Moscow, and although I decisively condemn the current war against Ukraine, I went to the rally in support of Girkin-Strelkov out of interest. There were hardly above fifty people, and there were more journalists than actual Z radicals. Quite illustrative of the level of support a pro-war public figure has :)
If you're really from Russia, you know that Girkin is just a whiner on the internet. I don't know who can call Girkin Z radical, when his main audience is doomscrollers, liberals and Ukrainians, to whom he has been throwing copium for almost a year and a half.
It's surprising to me how much more the regime makes sense when you think of it as a mafia/boardroom analogy. Most folks seem to not get how different it is from how our systems work. I hear people speak as if there are checks and balances there.
There are checks and balances but because they are unofficial and organic it just becomes confusing and chaotic. These checks are not written down anywhere, they just exist, which makes them hard to see and understand, which has to freak Putin out.
The book "Russia's War on Everybody" by Keir Giles made me understand much more on how and why russia does what it does. And it also opened a lot on the what they do, since I did not know how deep their tentacles reach in our societies. While I already knew a lot, there was *so* much more to know.
Well said. It is a mafia. They are simply sociopathic/psychopathic criminals residing in a statesmen's house. It requires understanding Communism, corruption, narcissistic sociopathy/psychopathy, criminal organization, and how the transition occurred within that soup during the dissolution 30+ years ago to understand what is there now. We have a tendency as humans - especially the rational and sensitive branches among us - to incorrectly project what we know, think, and understand onto others where it does not fit. They may use the same words, but their meaning is entirely distorted.
Vlad, lovely to see you on top form. Fascinating translation of the continued confusing situations that unfold and I appreciate your take. In my humble opinion, your interpretation has logic and sophistication and brings clarity to my previous confused view over the craziness that is going on. Stay well and thank you helping us make sense of what's going on.
I feel like Putin didn't simply remove and/or punish prigozhinites. But also those who were creating arguments with Prigozin. It is that he seems to be dealing with those that created unrest, regardless of who's side they are on. For Putin it's not such big of an issue that Prigozhin was complaining. Nor that His army was killing wagner. IT is that they caused a serious social unrest that couldn't be hidden, and THIS affected Putin directly in a bad way. Therefore, "you shouted too hard, now you die".
This channel is such a rescue, my daily life right now is life with a fried brain and I struggle with getting myself together, but your talks are just a lifesaver to listen to. You’ve made me chuckle several times in this one, Vlad. Everyone comments about how dope your analysis is (which is true), but not enough of us have mentioned your lovely sense of humor! ❤️
Fascinating, thank you, Vlad. So, Mr. Girkin lost his value as an operative asset and the FSB protection along with it. I'm just wondering how's the MOD consolidation to be seen in relation to FSB politics. The ongoing purges seem to be focusing on removing anyone half competent from a position of command, so that at least must be seen as a definite plus.
Apparently, in Mr. Girkin's case the charge of extremism is based on him at one time writing about the Russian soldiers not having received their pay. Not recently, apparently, but this is how soviet prosecution works.
@@Katoshi_Takagumi If you know the first part of the accusation, which was presented by Girkin's lawyer, you also know the 2nd part of the accusation. And this part 2 is much more important, with calls for the secession of Crimea. No?
@@EvgeniyYakushev-m2u Sorry, I've only seen the charge reported in relatively vague terms. I don't know what specifically he has said related to Crimea. Somehow I cannot picture Mr. Girkin calling for letting Ukraine have Crimea back, though.
The Putin regime's attempt at executing a version of Isaac Asimov's Psychohistory upon the Russian populace, for this past 23 years, is beginning to unravel.
Terrorism, atrocities, crimes against humanity. You get a pass for that. Criticism of Putin? Denigrating the great man? That gets you incarcerated at best, but a trip out of a window in a high rise is also on the cards.
i see the old through the snowball in the air and hit the guy in the face while he's watching the snowball trick. think there's something else going on like arms through Korea while everyone's distracted.
There must be a good chunk of the Russian population that shares Girkin`s attitude or he would have been gone a lot sooner. His commentary shows that a good portion of the population is not as politicaly disinterested as we might think.Girkin shows a Russia as being imperialist in the minds of some Russians and I think Putin is trying to distance Russia from this propaganda or idea because it might scare NATO into taking a more direct action and Putin can`t afford that.Sometimes the truth hurts. In any event, Putin has probably polled Girkin`s rhetoric and it`s divisive of his own message of "NATO is attacking us" and he definitely doesn`t need any of that right now.
Getting punished by government agencies is also practiced in Western liberal democracies, while allowing the elite and powerful to thrive in a no-punishment environment. It is not just the style of government that allow crimes of to go unpunished, it is also the type of individual who is attracted to power and its use.
Indeed true, but it is somewhat harder for this kind of person to create this kind of fuckery under a Western system. Far from impossible but much harder.
There's a saying in German: The mills of justice grind slowly. It takes longer to indict a powereful and or famous person, because you want to be sure to have a rock solid case. But as long as even ex presidents have to appear in front of a judge for their crimes no one is above the law.
Absolute bullshit, your comparing the upper 10% of Justice Systems with one that is on the level with DRK. Girkin would have been in jail for murder for years.
@@cooldudecs Girkin is not particularly popular among nationalists, I would even say despised for cowardice and idle talk. He is much more popular with doomscrollers, liberals and Ukrainians.

Yeah it’s really too bad Russia couldn’t follow Gorby’s lead and sober up long enough to become a quasi parliamentary democracy even if it wasn’t Russia’s style. Emphasis on the “sober up” part. Imagine if Russia could have worked its way back to a healthy, business friendly country instead of the kleptocratic mafia state it became. Talk about missed opportunities. I don't the pootler is going to the BRICS summit... 😉
@@Rina-ie2sz хорошо😂 in all seriousness his cell would definitely be more comfortable
Thank you for all you contribute to helping clear the rubble in my mind
Vlad knows a thing for two and expresses it so eloquently. I enjoy watching and feel better informed.
@@fintuxI have to read that book
@@moritamikamikara3879not exactly the same but fits the description of ancient kingdoms as “absolute monarchy tempered by assassination”
I'm surprised it took this long for him to get a knock on the door.
Thank you for the cogent analysis. We need to organize a US-speaking tour for you.
Happy to do it! Ha ha
Love your content. It must be a strange thing to be a russian these days. Very sad. Keep up the important work. Greetings from Oslo, Norway🇳🇴😀
Thank you Vlad.😀👍
Thank you Vlad 🫶🏽
This channel is such a rescue, my daily life right now is life with a fried brain and I struggle with getting myself together, but your talks are just a lifesaver to listen to. If you have a chance to answer a question, you once mentioned you „won’t lose the grip on the rudder“, in contrast to others that might, what is your practical advice for not losing it? (exactly in that context of how you meant it)
Great chat. Thank you!
Thanks you vlad, great conversation
Super, Vlad. Always a pleasure to listen to you.
Thank you so much
Is the arrest of Girkin also meant to threaten the other military-boggers, who also frequently have criticized the MOD?
When you say he tried to formalize informal power, I am reminded of the quote, "When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro."
I think this would be a perfect example of "reap what you sow" but with the word scumbag added to the end.
"Pick a window, Girkin, you're leaving..."
Thank you Vlad. The "formalization of power" project of Girkin is very enlightening...Thank you for the breakdown of all this.
🙏🏻💫💙
Evil Gherkin sitting in a russian prison with his nuts strapped to a car battery, does have a sweet smell of poetic justice to it.
Just stopped myself from making a car battery joke in a comment. Glad I didn't since you said it two hours ago. Bravo!
I'm hopeless at understanding Russian in Latin letters. I see his last name and all I can picture is two roundish pickles strapped to that car battery.
@@ak5659 well he is in a bit of a pickle as it were.
Dont think the smell of burning human flesh is particularly sweet. But i get the Karma is a bitch angle.
I love your precise analysis ✔️
Evil Girkin, fell of the Wall, Evil Girkin had a Great Fall. All the Z Radicals and All the Green Men, couldn't put Girkin together again.
This needs to be read at his funeral
Couldn't have rhymed it better. How about, Kremlin z walls are falling down,, falling down, falling down x2
Oh dear putin.
Yesss… the moment I heard the news I looked forward to your take on it.
Thank you very much for your i sights. I very much enjoy your deep thoughts and reflections.
*_Girkin's really in a pickle now..._*
Sweet
"...fallen down the cliff." and soon to fall out a window I suspect.
Thanks Vlad!
Great video as always. One minor thing, if you read this - are you able to up the volume of your videos? I love your commentary, but I leave you on max volume in all your videos, and I often still can't make out what you're saying if there is any background noise at all.
Best wishes from Chicago
The Evil Gherkin 🥒 is sadly in a pickle
This is either desperate action or organised chaos.
Remain calm, it is according to plan. 🤣
How much support does Girkin have amongst the military?
Not much
His view is very popular… It’s the nationals that Putin wants to arrest and suppress. Remember Lenin was arrested by czar Nicholas and sent to Siberia
According to RT (2014 edition), over 5 million Ukrainians in the Donbas worship him.
@@user-uu2rf8ev7z "According to RT" equals fairy tales...
@@Charles_Bro-son thank you. You and I know better, but in Russia where this is their only source I do not doubt that most Russians believe RT.
You’ve made me chuckle several times in this one, Vlad. Everyone comments about how dope your analysis is (which is true), but not enough of us have mentioned your lovely sense of humor! ❤️
The TLDR: Girkin gets pickled and how.
I'm getting used to the abrupt ending format cuz you start to look around in suspicious ways and I know it's going to end in 2 seconds.
Поздравляю россиян, которые начинают задавать вопросы Путину
Every time I tune into this channel, I feel.... beautiful! :D
I can not believe he lasted this long! Its crazy.
Thank you. Always a pleasure to listen to a smart, informed and thoughtful person.
I can’t believe Girkin managed to stay out of the gulag for this long.
Vlad “The Impaler” Vexler is back. I like to imagine he’s just talking to himself in the mirror and he has no idea he’s being recorded.
Vlad has no reflection in that mirror.
@@RubbishGimpylmao
@@RubbishGimpyBTW, his accent sounds like Gary Oldman’s British/Russian accent for his role as Dracula.
Criminal brothers-in-arms know each others failings so well.
Yes, about time. Thought it was strange how long he lasted.
@@Katoshi_Takagumi Why did you omit Crimea in your story?
@@EvgeniyYakushev-m2u Crimea? I wasn't aware of Mr. Girkin having a connection to Crimea.
You're the first I'm listening to ....
💛💙💜💙💛 Heroic noble Ukrainians, let this be the beginning of the end of the Putin regime if that stops the war
Do you think there’s any risk for Putin with Girkin being a public face of the only politicised group in Russia, Vlad?
Everything has risk. It seems like Vlad called some time ago that many of Putin's actions increase his control but also increase his instability.
Terrorism, atrocities, crimes against humanity. You get a pass for that. Criticism of Putin? Denigrating the great man? That gets you incarcerated at best, but a trip out of a window in a high rise is also on the cards.
Karmic kiss of justice for Girkin.
Vlad, You are a beacon of reason and empathy. ❤️🇸🇪
i see the old through the snowball in the air and hit the guy in the face while he's watching the snowball trick. think there's something else going on like arms through Korea while everyone's distracted.
Girkin is in quite a pickle.
Hey Putler, you can always hand him over to the Hague for war crimes prosecution... if you know, you don't want to have to deal with backlash... 🙂
And make sure to make the delivery in person to the Hague.
Well, *a lot* Russians who don't at all agree with Girkin follow him as a knowledgeable and relatively very honest commentator on the Ukraine War.
I'm only surprised this took as long as it did to happen.
It’s because he is popular in the nationalist circles. He is of the prygozin types
@@cooldudecs Girkin is not particularly popular among nationalists, I would even say despised for cowardice and idle talk. He is much more popular with doomscrollers, liberals and Ukrainians.
8:53 It was not antisemitic insult. "Иудушка" refers to Judas (new testament character) not to jewish nation.
Girkin's figure of speech means Gorbachev betrayed USSR like Judas betrayed Christ.
And the whole darn country is about to miss it again as the world watches. Watching the future of Russia crumble brings me no pleasure.

This cucumber's been pickling a long time.
Raising my Kombucha to the algorithm. Why do I have the sneaking suspicion that Girkin might skate somehow at least in the near future? Not as much as Prigozhin but just a feeling from Vlad's past descriptions of how that mafioso regime works. .
No pinned comment on this one yet by Vlad. Today was intense? Hope you're ok.
Thank you so much for being here!
I find your oration very quirky and entertaining, the complete opposite of so many that yell and scream to make theimselves seem commanding of the information.. thank you, very, very entertaining.
Both Girkin and Prigozin have called out the MoD for its failures. Even if the "Blob" is not reacting on the surface it is hearing the criticism and ruminating in the shadows.
An excellent orator!
