@I 8 well, in view of the fact that i commented on this video, in which they state edge will never wrestle again...i was probably referencing the year that has gone by between the posting of this video and Edge's return...not the time that has passed since his retirement.
Everyone (most people) talk about the lader match from WM 10. Yes. It was a good match and was historic. But let's not forget the curtain jerked match stole that show.
My first match I saw with Owen Hart wasn't him vs Bret at WrestleMania X but it was his match against X-Pac on Raw but after that I looked up alot of his matches and I cried after I found out he passed away at Over The Edge
Yeah exactly i'll remember that, especially when mr. Kennedy keep hitting eddie in the head with a chair shots repeatedly after all these years i still can't believe many people wasn't mad at him about that because he could be #1 main reason why eddie died.
Yeah the Eddie vs Kennedy is famous for not just being a great match but there are rumors that particular match was the reason of Eddie passing. If you remember the after match Batista was chatting with a really exhausted Eddie. A lot of people stated that this match was finally the breaking point to Eddie's heart which was already weakened because his pass drug abuse.
The thing that's weird about that WCW match from Raw in July 2001 is that just a week later, Raw was in Atlanta, Georgia. You'd think if they truly wanted WCW to have the best chance as a subsidiary brand, they'd have launched it then and there.
So, Basically if they got Bret treatment right after the match with Goldberg it could have saved his career.. Instead they put him in a hardcare match damaging him even more..
Actually, They knew he had multiple concussions and he told them he's not in good shape to wrestle for a while but they kept insisting that he was ok to keep going..
Proof that Paige started the Revolution because the Bellas were “dominating” on raw and fans were upset because they’re just divas, while Paige and Emma were truly talented and showed their potential in NXT but were being buried on the main roster
I actually got to watch Owen's last match ever before his passing. It was at a live show in Chicago and he was in his regular gimmick, not the Blue Blazer one teaming with Jeff Jarrett against Edge & Christian. It was a solid 10 minute match from what I remember with a comedic spot featuring Owen. It's an absolute shame even 20 years later that he's no longer with us.
And if anyone who works for WWE says differently, they will be fired from WWE on the spot and blacklisted from the Wrestling/Sports Entertainment industry permanently. If anyone in Wrestling/Sports Entertainment outside of WWE said differently, they never would work for WWE in the future, ever. At least that's what it was in the days immediately after the deaths. Not so much now
Jeremy Nunya the whole story makes it more sad tho. He suffered so many injuries for the sport he loved that his brain state was the same as a 80 year old Alzheimer’s patient. Obviously it’s not any way a excuse but you gotta admit the way concussion used to be handled back in the day could’ve played a part in what happened that tragic day
@@nismocash989 you're acting like it's something impossible to go to a WWE event in your area. Not like he said he had drinks with Benoit after the event or something.
I loved how Eddies last match was as Eddie as a match could get. Winning with the whole fake chair shot and blaming the opponent. I think they may even be the only time that tactic actually got him a win.
And fact that he was scheduled to turn on BATISTA & win WORLD Title on SD! that week? Benoit was to win ECW Belt and OWEN IC Title at PPV. CREEPY AS F***
Nothing more frightening than looking into Benoit's eyes during his match with Burke and when he came out to confront Punk at the last ECW show before Vengeance 07. That cold stare.
Same with ECW. Anytime anyone on that show went up against someone from RAW or Smackdown!, pretty sure it was a loss. Especially if it was one of the originals.
3:37 I was NEVER a big Jeff Jarrett fan but I always believed his side of the story that he did not ask for more money to perform, that all he wanted and got was a lump sum of the money that was already to be owed to him. After a PPV, wrestlers do not get paid "The next day", it can take months. So it wasn't just the No Mercy PPV but other prior PPVs that he had already performed on but yet hadn't yet gotten paid for yet. A lump sum for 4 or 5 PPV payouts is going to be a significant amount. This wasn't an Ultimate Warrior Summer Slam type incident. 4:47 To be somewhat fair, the WWE actually had a "rehearsal" match of these two at a house show prior to the Raw taping and from what I had heard, the match tore down the house. But for whatever reason, it just didn't work a couple of nights later on Raw. It is not uncommon for two performers to click one night and then stink up the joint another night. Unfortunately for the WWE, they stunk up the joint on a really bad night for the company, ruining the long term plans for WCW.
I believe Bruce Prichard has also confirmed that he only wanted what was owed on his contract. He wanted to make a clean break with the company because he knew he was going to WCW. Being the son of a booker who had screwed people on the past, he just wanted to avoid any 'issues' that may delay his paycheck

"...match was a nonfinish, so it was well worth it." Thank you, Simon. That line tipped the scales toward laughter, as opposed to the crying I was weighing it against.
Chris Candido's last match was only a few minutes as he broke his leg at Impact Wrestling's first LockDown ppv. He did the Monday taping, and I believe he died that Wednesday.
Surprised you didn't use Eddie Guerrero vs Kennedy on Smackdown, just days before he passed away. Especially considering it was a match that had Survivor Series implications. And Eddie did his classic "play dead" move to trick Kennedy into a win.

This! Although don't even hate the man... Chris had suffered so much brain damage all for the sake of entertaining us. What happened was an absolute tragedy but keep in mind that none of us can really look into other people's heads. There are many dark places one can slip into. Many people fall into a depression or other mental illness, especially when ur brain has gone through what Chris' has. The loss of his best friend Eddie Guerrero also complete derailed his mental state. This wasn't the first family drama, and it won't be the last either unfortunately. Apart from that though, Benoit was also one of the absolute best to ever set foot in the squared circle. An absolute legend and my personal favorite wrestler of all time. His technical prowess was and still is unmatched. His matches are a delight to watch.
The 2014 RR thing was stupid. Bryan fought Bray Wyatt earlier that night. None of the people who had an earlier match that night then also fought in the Rumble Match, as often happens many years. #7 Re Jeff Jarrett. Version I heard was that his contact expired the day before the PPV, so he was perfectly in his legal rights to do whatever he wanted. The payout was for the 1 day contract to wrestle on the PPV.
That's because they didn't own up to Benoit's Meltdown. Instead they needed a fall guy to give to the harsh Media and Benoit was that person. That;s was the start of the WWE slowly dropping downfall.
