Because you’re an artist. This guy is not, he’s just putting paint on a canvas and trying to sell it. Real art comes from self-expression and has a meaning to the person who created it.
Remember that when we create art it's not for hopes of getting rich quick, it's from the inner driven need to create. That creates a level of "worth" a cashgrab attempt like this will never have.
The problem is that abstract painters usually have a foundation in painting and understand composition. If you want to make abstract paintings go for it but like genuinely learn about the really interesting history
Actually also throwing paint on canvas is art, and the more time you spend on details in abstract art the less it will look like abstract and what people don't understand is, as fast as you can see some figures or shapes in an "abstract" art, it is not abstract anymore. And yes, the foundations and meaning is very important but many abstract artists had no artistic schools and actually just did art because it made them feel good and also because they just didn't know how to draw well otherwise. Yes I also studied art and abstract art is a very interesting thing mostly when it came out it was more like an experiment with paint, how the canvas can behave with color and no big meaning at all.
@@noname-vd9rc doesn’t make it good art. I've had someone fight with me saying because someone else did this to them and upcharged an expensive piece to give them a random abstract that was made by an impassionate person. They didn't trust me and said I was going to do the same untill I sent them a video of a walkthrough of my canvas pieces to show I did infact paint how I said I did and was not just trying to get as much money out of them as possible. These joke trends actually mess up people's lives, but it's worth it for the click huh?
Anything for clicks and views. Societies and civilizations collapse all the time. It’s just our turn and we’re watching it all unfold before our very eyes. 😵💫
Art is subjective. If someone likes a random persons art more than yours. Than what difference does it make that you went to school for it or are a “professional” Jimi Hendrix couldn’t read or write music. Didn’t stop him from being the best guitar player of all time.
There is actually really nice abstract art, and if you compare it with people who are just doing random stuff, you can tell the difference (although it depends on the artist's style as well)
The CEO's wife at a company I once worked for did "abstract art" that was somewhat short of hideous, but far from engaging or pleasant to look at. They kept it upstairs, in the management areas, so customers wouldn't insult her canvases with honest opinions. I learned to walk past without looking at them. I'm an artist, and save abstract for filling my backgrounds, as I don't feel confident in balancing a work without a subject. And haven't been exposed to enough good abstract to find pursuing it appealing, as a rule. I have been learning some cool effects with alcohol inks and resin that are abstract and nifty, and it's a lot of fun to explore!

If you have a name that is recognizable, yes. I highly doubt that people are really selling these with a nobody name. Lol probably had their friends bid and buy.
While not for me, (artist myself and just as a viewer) there's big differences in multiple things here vs 'professional' abstract. (Now I don't know or follow this person so I don't know if it's really meant as serious content or satire, but I'm going off assumption of serious content) He at least got the initial idea right with abstract- until the "making it look like stars thing". Abstract is changing the form so it's barely if at all recognizable as an object/the same object. (In this case the huge rubberband ball) Non-objective is the 'throw paint on canvas' type paintings that tend to get lumped in with abstract (they're meant to hold no visible connection to the original object, if there's an original object at all). The 'professional' types tend to seem more professional or at least visually appealing because they're paying attention to a bunch of concepts (color schemes, values and tones, forms and lines, etc) while also (sometimes) throwing paint on a canvas, and making necessary adjustments as needed. Just tossing paint on layer after layer just because causes the messy (in an unappealing way) look that artists trying the style for the first time/those who don't know what to pay attention to. Same idea behind asking athletes to try different sports they don't usually do- might have the same core abilities (strength, endurance, etc) but completely different skills. Personally why I don't do much of any kind of abstraction type works (cubism and the others included) I'm much more interested and invested in realism type pieces (unless they're like concept works for movies or projects)
These abstract paintings are great for adding a splash of color that compliments your room's color scheme. I don't think they're worth hundreds of dollars, but artists who can add strong, contrasting colors on a subtle setting are worth the price in my opinion
People: thinks selling simple art for an unreasonable price is dum. Also people: still do it Tiktokers: do it and think they are genuinely making a change for the better
This isn't "abstract," it's just trying to get bank off of fake art. I know this video was obviously a joke, but stuff like this covers up smaller artists who really are trying to put themselves out there more than most people realize.

@@steph6337 nope, even Jackson Pollock, the guy who made this artstyle famous, gave serious consideration to the depth and dimension of his pieces. Why do you think art history or entire art degrees exist? Putting brush to canvas isn't easy, there are things to consider. And, no, art has never been taken as easy except by people who haven't studied it. Picasso had to train for years to develop his now famous art style. In fact go read through Polluck's Wikipedia page, see how his style was formed, how art critics themselves don't agree on the art. Pollock's pieces (cause it's hard to tell from an image) had LAYERS of paint. To the point you could actually see the thickness of the paint on the canvas if you saw it in person.

While not for me, (artist myself and just as a viewer) there's big differences in multiple things here vs 'professional' abstract. (Now I don't know or follow this person so I don't know if it's really meant as serious content or satire, but I'm going off assumption of serious content)
He at least got the initial idea right with abstract- until the "making it look like stars thing".
It's not just random artists selling those pieces for those prices...they are known artists.
People: thinks selling simple art for an unreasonable price is dum.
Also people: still do it
Tiktokers: do it and think they are genuinely making a change for the better
