  • On this episode Brian is joined by Walker Reynolds who is the president and solutions architect at 4.0 solutions and the board chairman at Intellic Integration in Dallas, TX. Walker has created a vision system that will help athletes monitor and improve their workouts. The system was used and tested at the Shaw Classic in 2022 during the max hummer tire deadlift event. The vision system was able to analyze the athletes lifts and accurately predict what their max lift would be during the contest. Brian and Walker have a great conversation about his past, about how he started working on the vision system and his goals for how this technology can benefit the general public.

I wanted to take a second and let y’all know how impactful your podcast has been. I’ve never been a podcast listener, but listening to you, Brian, and your guests chat is quite literally the most motivational thing I’ve found. I look at your signature with the words “Be Great!” every day and try to live it.

I would love to see the vision system be modified to every sport. I have a basketball background and it would be GREAT to help kids with their jump shot. Growing up, my dad always said “practice doesn’t make perfect; perfect practice makes perfect.” If a kid could correct their shot then learn to repeat it, the growth in their skill would be exponential.

When looking at champions from different sports, fighting sports, Olympics etc. Most champions come from poor places, most champions train like Rocky and not Drago. Basics still work best, often people can out smart themselves and over complicate things. Young generation wants to prove only modern is relevant even if they are brand new and clueless. Look at how real championship titles were won, not theories.

With modern in mind, I grew up training with my father and Jerry Quarry before him, and everything was old school and there’s something to that definitely wether its character build or what have you, but since I started to incorporate more modern implementations and such, my body feels better while still seeing the same results if not better. When considering longevity and the future pain your going to feel from training gritty and warehouse type stuff, I personally am enjoying the modern and more calculated aspect of it now rather than how I felt back then.
