Is your GPU usage rising to 100% or is that staying low alongside the CPU? If your GPU is rising to 100% while your CPU remains low, it's possible that your GPU is bottlenecking your CPU, meaning that your CPU is significantly better than your GPU and your GPU can't keep up.
You want to always be gpu 100% and to have the cpu usage low. If the gpu usage ist noch in the 90th percentile, then u either got a cpu bottleneck or an unoptimized game. Or 3rd u got a Rtx 4090 and play in 1080p where you will never reach 100% gpu usage, because the card is too powerful.
Telling people to change their paging file size is the most ridiculous thing you can do... Its automatic for a reason. Windows does a pretty good job at managing paging file size so its best not to touch it because you might in fact break a couple things and you might even lock your pc on blue screens of death.

@@deh_ro Glad to help. You should likely check the top comment if you haven’t already for a more thorough guide on numbers in order to avoid potential issues.
This will basically crash your pc, maybe it will work for low end pc but if you have decent level of pc don't do this 4096 is bacisally 4gb ram, so you are setting your virtual ram to 4gb, which will bottleneck your memory and it will crash your PC if it try to use more than 4gb so i prefer using half of the ram which is available in your system or maybe all of it, For example if you have 8 gb ram in your pc then set your virtual ram to 4 or 8 gb only, Not less or more so for 4gb = 4096 and for 8gb = 8192 for 16 = 16384.

How does RAM affect the amount of CPU used? Let's start from the assumption that the RAM is not all used so for example on 32 GB 12 GB is used, what should change?
Sadly for me I don't think that's the problem. I just play a lot of single core games. That results in CPU caused frame drops and stuttering, with overall low CPU usage. In those cases I cap to 60fps instead of aiming for high refresh rate. That usually solves my problem.
Well I wish you the best of luck! In my case, I was getting "fps drops" that were basically game freezes that could be as low as 1/10th of a frame for multiple seconds.

This worked like magic- I use x-plane only and have an amazing system. though when I installed a new GPU, what was once 34 fps fell to 4 fps. I made the changes in this video - it blasted up though the roof to 46 fps, though after installing some plugins in X-plane - it went back to 4 fps. Any idea what it could be?
I don't possess enough knowledge to say anything for certain, but if adding more plugins ruined the FPS once more, perhaps it requires a bit more memory to function and thus, doubling the numbers you put in before-hand (the numbers I put in the video) may fix the problem. I wish you the best of luck with that working or finding another solution if that doesn't.

This is a very late reply but as for benchmarks those are always taken with an extremely powerful cpu and very fast ram. You'll likely always see high fps numbers in benchmakrs then you'll actually get in game
if you look at other videos regarding paging files, all of them recommend you set the initial to the recommend value below, and the maximum to either 1.5x your ram or 3x your ram. So I have 16GB of ram, my initial is set to 2925 and my maximum is set 24000.

Terribly sorry for not responding earlier, I must have missed the notification. Sadly though, I do not possess enough knowledge to help with system specifics. thanks alottt for thiss bro this video helpedd me alot i thought it was something wrong with my CPU after restarting my pc and loading back into the game i play it was way more smoother and stuff was loading way faster then before :)
If you have enough memory, a higher number will be *generally* be better. The reason you might need a higher number is to avoid crashing due to lack of memory on games because this technically LIMITS the memory. Some games require a larger amount of memory to function. Orrrrr if you happen to multitask 30 things it can cause crashes in programs.

Thats what I was thinking as well. This only helps if you are maxing out your RAM since it would then use your drives as extra memory storage.
same im like isnt this just for ram 😂
this guy is our savior, pray for him
Sadly for me I don't think that's the problem.

Got a 6750 xt. Not crashing but have lots off frame drops and low fps. Maybe its a driver isssue since amd doesnt have the best track record with their drivers
I am in this state with massive fps drops consistently, and I hope I get a testimony after applying these techniques.😂

Terribly sorry for not responding earlier, I must have missed the notification. Sadly though, I do not possess enough knowledge to help with system specifics. If by chance this causes high memory games to crash, and that is the problem you're experiencing after the fix, then I would suggest doubling the numbers you put in as that will allocate more memory, whilst still keeping the fix. That worked in my own case at least. If that does not work however, that it where my knowledge on the subject ends and I wish you the best of luck in finding an answer that fixes your problems.

what does 4096 do and is highter the better?
If you have enough memory, a higher number will be *generally* be better. The reason you might need a higher number is to avoid crashing due to lack of memory on games because this technically LIMITS the memory. Some games require a larger amount of memory to function. Orrrrr if you happen to multitask 30 things it can cause crashes in programs.
