Important tip :) When you have a spreadsheet with a lot of columns: just make sure that the column with the lookup value is simply left of the column you want to search in. The Vlookup function can only search to the right! Good luck 😊
What if I have my main workbook saved on onedrive and I want to automatically pull data from reports (other workbooks) that would be saved locally? And what if I'll be doing this on multiple computers (the reason it's saved in the cloud in the first place)?
Each time I open the workbook with External Vlookup links I get the following error. "This workbook contains links to one or more external sources that could be unsafe. If you trust the links, update them and get the latest data. Otherwise you can keep working with the data you have. There are two buttons. Update and Don't update. Can this issue be solved so these errors do not pop up at all?
To solve this Click "Data" tab, then click "Workbook Links", On the right side in "Workbook links" look for the the Settings button ( gear), click the drop down arrow. Then Click the "Always Refresh" option. The error will not longer show.
